Carlson & Erickson Builders

Established in 1969 by John Carlson and Donald Erickson, John and Don learned their expertise in the trade from some of the men who have become known as "quality builders" in the Door County area. These men included Paul Erickson (Don's father) and John Landstrom who were masons, and master carpenters Sam Erickson, Willard Erickson, and Henry Landstrom. In 1987, John Sawyer became a partner, and is now sole owner of the business. John Carlson & Don Erickson have since retired. John Sawyer was born and raised on his family farm in Egg Harbor and while attending college he worked for Carlson & Erickson by mixing mud for the masons. After graduation he worked in real estate and building for several years. Our crew is an important part of our company and our local Door County communities. Having just retired one carpenter after 39 years, several of our master carpenters have been with us for 20-36 years. The majority of the crew has been with us from 11-20 years with only a couple of our newer employees with us under 5 years. Our crews stay with your project from beginning to end, unlike other companies that bring in different crews for different aspects of the job.
