Working with Drew Efimoff and Coastal Designs on our master bathroom/closet remodel was a pleasure. We first engaged Drew through our designer. She had quite a few conversations with him and concluded that he was meticulous about details and would likely be a good match with our style. Once we were ready, Drew provided a quote with enough detail to keep us on the same page, but without overwhelming us. After an in-person meeting, we came away with confidence to move forward. Our remodel was a bit complex because the house is modern and does not have any parallel walls. The shower wall and cabinet walls are curved. Drew was careful to guide our choices for tile, etc. in light of this challenge. Along the way, he knew when to ask us questions about details that were important. This kept us engaged in every step and ensured we were happy with the end result. Drew and all of his subcontractors are genuinely nice people and very thoughtful about how they worked in our home. They kept to one entrance and came and went without disturbing us. All of their work was of high quality and efficiency. Any time we asked for something to be touched up or adjusted, it was done immediately and often already in the works. They kept our home clean and as dust free as possible for a construction site. The project schedule was tight, and Drew stuck closely to it. The team worked every Saturday to meet deadlines. The project stayed on budget as well. Drew brought in Classy Closets to design and build our walk-in closet. Their work was excellent. He also provided referrals to a variety of services that we have been pleased with. We highly recommend Drew Efimoff at Coastal Designs.

We decided to work with Coastal Designs (Drew Efimoff) because his proposal was clear and specific so that we understood exactly what we were purchasing. Drew listened to us and incorporated our wishes with his experience and we ended up with (3) full bathrooms and (1) half bathroom remodeled beyond our expectations. Drew presented a schedule and proceeded to complete our project well ahead of schedule, which is rare to find. The subcontractors that Drew works with are very talented craftsmen and show up when they say they will and leave the project site clean every day. When you have people working within your house while you are living there it is important you trust them and feel safe with them in your house, we never had an issue and felt very comfortable with all of the craftsmen working on the project. Drew remained involved and attentive to every aspect of our project, which we appreciated. I would and have recommended Drew to our family and friends.

We used Drew at Coastal Designs for our Kitchen Remodel in 2021 and were so positive on the experience we brought him back to do our Bathrooms in 2024. First of all I love the way my kitchen remodel turned out. I hosted the monthly family gathering yesterday with rave reviews. We took an old U shaped kitchen, with old cabinets and a furnace in the kitchen (which was turned into a pantry) and made it into such a lovely and airy space. I cannot say enough about Drew, his excellent daily communication, his subcontractors, his advice and guidance. He listened to my ideas and made them happen. I'm so pleased with the way he worked with me because I wanted something that maybe is not so current right now, but it fits with the style of my traditional house.

CD was a life saver for us. They came in and fixed significant deficiencies from a prior contractor and completed two gorgeous bathrooms. Working with Drew from Coastal Designs exceeded our expectations. We have had several remodeling projects done in our home over the last 20 years and none went as smoothly or as on budget as our kitchen and bath remodel with Coastal Designs. We were told that the two rooms would take 6-7 weeks to complete and they took 6 1/2 weeks. Communication as to which subcontractors would be onsite on which days and times was excellent, which allowed my family to carry on work and other activities without interruption. There were no unexpected expenses at all, which we've always run into when working with other contractors. Most importantly, we love the design and quality of our kitchen and powder room remodel and highly recommend Drew and Coastal Designs.

Drew from Coastal Designs did a tremendous job on our kitchen remodel. Everything was scheduled and ordered before project began which made sure we had zero issues with supply chain. His subs were great and were quick to comment how they enjoy working with him because he is always prepared. Drew at Coastal Designs impressed us right from the very beginning. He was patient, friendly and honest with us about everything. He provided the level of customer service that we were looking for. I showed him images of kitchens that I liked and showed him a drawing of our floor plan and he came back with a sample of the cabinets and countertops he recommended based on the style and colors I described. We showed us the faucet, sink and garbage disposal that he recommends because he has installed them in so many homes now he knows they are quality. He gave us a 3D rendering of our floor plan and when he gave him changes he had those back to us really quickly. His quote was competitive and his timeline was the best. He promised it would be finished on time and he delivered. Everyone that worked for him was polite, and professional and provided excellent work. We tore the kitchen to the studs, removed a wall, moved plumbing and electrical, then installed all new cabinets, floors, new appliances, a window, countertop, sink, and backsplash tile.

Coastal Designs was fantastic! Drew, the owner is the most professional contractor my wife or I have ever worked with. He is organized beyond belief, always on time and has the most respectful and hardworking crews one could ask for. We had our master bath, and two mini master baths completely remodeled and they look and feel amazing. More importantly after using the bathrooms and breaking them in we can tell the work is solid and everything is fantastic and beautiful. There were no surprises with change orders etc. and the project was completed one week early (even with some additional requests on our part). We feel so lucky that we chanced on DREW AND COASTAL DESIGN. My husband and I were looking to update our kitchen, and he found Coastal Design on an internet search. Drew came to our home, looked around, listened to our desires for the space we had, and walked around our rooms. He then started making some suggestions, that fell right in to the ideas we had for our home. He put together a proposal, and once we accepted it, he set forth a schedule for our project. Drew was terrific at helping to decide on our finishes, and quickly ordered the materials to complete the job- he actually finished about 2 weeks earlier than the original estimate! We were absent from our home during the remodel, but Drew kept us up to date with emails and photos, and solved any arising issues with care. His attention to detail and quick responses were always appreciated. We love our redo! It is clean and sleek, provides plenty of storage and is beautiful to look at. His crew was careful to not disturb the rest of the house with the demo and messy parts of construction. We could not be happier! After much searching, we chose Coastal Designs to remodel our master bath. We are five star satisfied! Our bath was completed a week and a half early in the times of COVID with a beautiful, professional result. Drew, the owner, gave us a very detailed proposal with a specific budget and it was followed line by line. Having a contractor that follows up on every detail is important. They do many projects, but this is your one and only project. And, you want great care taken with your sanctuary and your investment. Drew understands this and does it. He was on site daily, sometimes multiple times. His subs were professional, knew their trade, and knew how to comport themselves in our home. He also was able to guide us through the multiple decisions that had to be made in choosing our fixtures, tile, lighting, flooring, plumbing, and most importantly, our design aesthetic ( during the times of COVID). His supervision, management, communication and organizational skills are superior. Our luxury bath is now is a modern sanctuary! His cost was a little more, but our peace of mind is priceless. Now we get to enjoy our gorgeous spa master bathroom for years to come.

Drew is wonderful to work with! He is kind, friendly, fair, detail oriented, hard working and has done an amazing job for both of our kitchen remodels (one this year and one about 7 years ago at our last house). I wouldn’t use anyone else for a kitchen or bath remodel. His contractors are excellent and he communicates extremely well about each step of the project. Coastal Designs Inc. is awesome! We just finished a complete remodel of our master bathroom and a facelift on our second upstairs bathroom. It was completed 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Drew took my inspiration picture and made it happen and it came out better than I could even imagine. His crews were professional, respectful and on time and their work was meticulous. All the products used were high quality and the workmanship impeccable. Drew even had a cleaning crew every Friday to keep the construction dust to a minimum. Drew kept us informed on the daily schedule and progress and was great about any communication. He completely took the stress out of having a remodel. We had the pleasure of using Drew & Coastal Designs for a kitchen and master bathroom remodel. The job was completed two weeks earlier than scheduled (amazing given today’s supply chain and labor woes). We are thrilled with both the end product and the fact that the process was as painless as a remodel can be. For example: Drew was very transparent and provided a comprehensive, 20+ page proposal that detailed each aspect of the remodel so there was no misunderstanding of the work to be performed. What is impressive is the quality of the work; his concern was that we don’t have problems 10 years down the road. Drew only takes on a limited number of jobs at a time and provides his full attention to those jobs and is not spread too thin. He was onsite every day, and we met every morning to go through the work to be done and decisions to be made that day. He was always reachable by phone/text and usually responded to messages immediately. We liked that we could provide as much or as little input as we wanted. Where we did have specific requests, he LISTENED but would also (politely) tell us when our ideas were way out there/cause for concern. We valued Drew’s input and professional expertise whereas we did not feel that the other contractors we interviewed would warn us of a bad idea. His team was very clean (and all were very nice) and he would send a cleaning person at the end of each work week so that the house was tidy for the weekend. Thus, we lived at home during the remodel without any problems. We obtained several quotes from other contractors as well, and while Coastal Designs was not the lowest quote, what gave us the most comfort was that Drew wanted the product to be done right (versus as fast as possible). Drew takes pride in his work and prioritizes quality over expediency. Most importantly, Drew is as nice and as honest as can be and was a pleasure to work with. We always felt that if anything went wrong, that he would make it right. We truly enjoyed working with Drew!

We recently hired Drew and his team at Coastal Designs to renovate both our master bath and our downstairs bath-and both look AMAZING! We had 3 companies bid the job and Drew's proposal was by far the most complete. While the others had placeholders for the fixtures, Drew had specific quality products in his proposal. He also provided drawings with ideas that we had not considered, such as lighting in the showers, which not only provided light , but added to the incredible look of both rooms. He provided a 6 week timeline for the project and completed the job in 5, he also was here every morning to meet with his subs and introduce them to us. His guys were always on time, did a great job , and cleaned up every day. At the end of each week he also had a teammate come and do a deep clean prior to the weekend. Drew exceeded our expectations and we HIGHLY recommend Coastal Designs.

We selected Drew Efimoff (Coastal Designs) for our kitchen and den remodel. Overall, we could not be happier with the results. My wife and I are both accountants by trade, and what we liked most about Drew was as follows: 1. Adherence to Schedule - when it comes to kitchens and baths, Drew is dialed-in. He knows exactly how long everything takes, the ideal order of operations for his subcontractors, and has them making progress everyday. Our friends were impressed by how quickly and efficiently our project came together. They made comments like "we used our friend to do a remodel and it took months!" There was nothing like that with Drew. 2. Detailed Itemized Budget - Drew put together a 3 page budget in our work proposal. There was no question what was in scope vs out of scope. It made review and discussion very straightforward and simple. 3. Design Consultation - we are not creative people by any means, and Drew was very helpful here. He helped generate ideas, knew all the best practices from his many other remodels, and was able to guide and advise on our material choices to let us know if we were making a mistake. He was able to see the complete picture and know how everything would look when it was all together. In addition to these points, Drew was responsive, neat, and always attentive to detail. It's really hard for me to overstate that this guy knows what he's doing. Kitchen remodels are a big deal, a big expense. When you hire Drew you are hiring an absolute PRO, and you can rest assured your money will be well spent.

Simply put - Drew is the best of the best. We have worked with several other contractors over the years and Drew is truly in a class of his own. We reached out to Drew to remodel our master bathroom (due to a leak) after not hearing back from other contractors in a timely manner. We read the glowing reviews from other homeowners and we too were not disappointed with his services. His communication is excellent, he delivers on time, does what he says he’s going to do, when he says he’s going to do it, and the teams he works with are true professionals. We are so happy with the end result - and I am admittedly very picky. We asked for a tranquil spa-like bathroom and that is exactly what we got. We just completed our kitchen and bathroom remodel with Coastal Designs and couldn’t be happier. This is the second remodel Drew has done for us. He did our kitchen remodel in our previous place in 2014 and we had a great experience with both projects. Drew and his team are very professional and considerate. The work is high quality. A lot of time is spent planning the layout to make sure it is functional and fits your needs. There is a good balance of listening to the clients requests while also offering alternative options that may work better for the space, either functionally or aesthetically (he kindly steered me away from a couple of bad ideas I had for our kitchen). There is great attention paid to all the little details which really have a big impact on the end result. The timeline of the project is determined prior to the start and he stuck to his proposed timeline. Drew came by everyday throughout the duration of the remodel to check on things. He is very responsive and easy to reach if anything comes up. We have recommended Coastal Designs to friends and they have all been very pleased with their experience as well. I spend a lot of time researching and reading reviews anytime we hire someone for a new project so I wanted to pass along what a great experience we have had with Coastal Designs ... on TWO remodels.

This is the second remodeling project that Coastal Designs did for us. They remodeled the kitchen last year, and we were so happy with the results that we brought Drew and his crew back again to do both of our downstairs bathrooms. The results of both projects are fantastic. The layout has been excellent and very well thought out for user convenience. Artistically the design and choice of colors was exactly what we wanted and matches the theme of the house and our decor. And the workmanship and quality of components used was impeccable. The price we paid was almost exactly per the detailed Coastal Designs proposal except for some small last minute additions that we requested. And the work was completed early on both projects. This was particularly impressive considering the bathrooms were remodeled during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, and some components like windows had long lead times and late shipping by the manufacturer. Finally, Drew of Coastal Designs is a true gentleman and a joy to work with. He is honest, sincere in wanting the customer to be happy with the result, and doesn't try and "up-sell" for additional work or services. Drew and the Coastal Design's team did a fantastic job on our master bath! When we bought this house the master bath had no shower and floor panels as wall decor. We met with a few contractors and were told repeatedly that we could not achieve the bathroom designs we desired because the space was too small/etc. Feeling discouraged, we set a meeting with Coastal Designs and were blown away by Drew's knowledge and willingness to make our dream bathroom a reality. Drew designed the exact bathroom we wanted without compromise. We were on vacation for most of the time the team was here, but when we got home the house was clean and all the workers were very kind! We had a small delay with our glass due to Covid, but it was no big deal! Drew and team were very professional and did everything they could to make sure we were 100% satisfied. I can’t thank Drew enough for creating a beautiful master bathroom for us. He handled every aspect of our renovation, which was really important for us because we have extremely busy work schedules. Selecting materials and finishes was easy and efficient due to Drew’s great eye for design and use of high end retailers. His entire team was just as kind and dependable as Drew. He even sent cleaning crews to mop up at the end of the day’s work. We started our project at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and Drew still managed to complete our bathroom on time and within budget. Initially we were concerned about the cost, but we quickly learned that Coastal Designs is worth every penny. You won’t find a nicer and more ethical designer & contractor than Drew. From our first meeting to the quality of his itemized bid, Coastal Designs and Drew stood out for their excellence. For a month (Feb 17- March 22) we lived in a construction zone and Drew made sure we had a cleaning at the end of each week. His scheduling was excellent. There were no idle days when no work was done. Trash was removed at the end of each day. No dump truck was parked in our driveway ever. His workers were all punctual, neat and polite. Drew came each morning to check up on the progress, and inform us what to expect the next day and at what time. There were no surprise hidden costs, Drew bought all the supplies as itemized in the bid. We went with him and had input in the selection of what he bought. We discussed colors and paint selection. As clients we could not make changes or add new surprise requests. It was a smooth and predictable project. The work was really spectacular and we have a beautiful master bath and shower now. I would recommend Drew to all who are planning remodeling projects while living in the home. He makes it pleasant and smooth.

Drew Efimoff of Coastal Designs and his team of contractors did an amazing job on our complete kitchen remodel. In short, the workmanship was impeccable, he finished way ahead of his estimated due date, and he did the work for exactly the amount stated in his proposal. Drew was also one of the most responsive individuals I have ever worked with in any profession. He personally answered the phone every time I called, he responded to every email and text within a very short period of time, and he was exceptionally punctual to every meeting we arranged. We first contacted Drew in early August of 2019 based on a recommendation from a friend. He answered the phone directly, and we set up a meeting to discuss possibilities of a kitchen remodel. He arrived exactly at the designated time, and spent a lot of time discussing options and approximate costs. Once we told him we were serious, he returned to make detailed measurements so he could provide us with a quotation. In about a week, we had another meeting where he presented us with a beautiful proposal, including some design options. The proposal was over 20 pages, bound and with section tabs. Each step of the project was detailed and costed. We accepted his proposal, and arranged to start work on Oct. 31st. We were planning to be out of town for the month of November, which would make things easier for everyone. Per the agreed payment schedule, we provided a deposit for cabinets, and worked with Drew and some excellent and very experienced suppliers to select appliances, flooring, counter tops, and backsplash. Drew knew the people we should work with and made excellent introductions which made this part of the process quite easy. Drew and his crew arrived on schedule to start demolition as we prepared to vacate the house. While we were gone, Drew sent occasional pictures so we could see the status. I also returned a few times to check things out in person and take care of personal matters. We were unbelievably surprised when we returned two days before Thanksgiving to find the kitchen 98% complete with flooring, cabinets, counter tops, tile backsplash, new lighting, and plumbing. The day after we returned, appliances were installed, and we had a functional beautiful new kitchen. Coastal Designs went from start to finish in less than 4 weeks. Drew guaranteed less than 8 weeks, and we were hoping he would finish in around 6 weeks. We never expected to come home to a virtually completed kitchen remodel. Also, Drew was exceptionally good about follow-up details. He sent a cleaning service over to dust the whole house, a carpet specialist get the carpet perfectly butted up with the tile, and the painter to make minor touch ups as necessary. He also helped make minor adjustments to cabinets so everything aligned and operated perfectly. We are so very happy! We might have been able to save a few bucks with another contractor, but I don't think the results would have been near as good or as easy for us. I really can’t imagine a remodeling project could go any better than what Drew and his Coastal Designs team achieved.

We have been wanting to remodel our kitchen for years and finally decided it was time. While interviewing contractors, Drew at Coastal Design immediately impressed me with his professionalism. I’ve done my share of remodels and deferred maintenance projects over the years and none of them have been pleasant experiences. So, I absolutely dreaded the prospect of remodeling two of our bathrooms. My sister recommended Drew Efimoff of Coastal Designs for the job. Drew had recently remodeled her entire duplex and she was extremely happy with the experience and the outcome. From the start, Drew was punctual, knowledgeable, affable, and most importantly, listened to what we wanted. He presented us with a project proposal, and though we made a few tweaks to the original plan, the final cost was pretty much as originally stated. When I met with Drew to look at tile options, I showed him some standard “safe” options and some more unique picks I had found previous to our meeting. During the project, Drew was on-site almost every day and always kept us up to date on the subcontractors’ schedules. I am very happy with my new kitchen. We came into the remodel with a design in mind and Drew helped us tweek it to be more practical. He was very helpful with picking out materials, particularly the cabinets. His bid was so straight forward, it was easy to figure out how much changes/upgrades in material would add to the budget. Drew is so approachable. He asks questions that make it easy to collaborate and get to the heart of what I really wanted. Coastal Design is organized and professional. One of my favorite examples of professionalism was that the design was taped to the wall in each area. More importantly, he clearly had the entire job scheduled out before he even started, so it was easy to have confidence in his estimate of when the work would be complete. They had a consistent early day in the middle of the week to get a little extra done if they needed and asked permission a couple of times to a little work on Saturday to keep on pace. Special shout out to his cabinet installer, who put in long days to get everything done timely. They also put up with several custom requests - a granite farmhouse sink, a butcher block counter, painting the inside of my cabinet bright orange, a professional sized hood and a large chalkboard magnet. Shout out to his forman Christian and partner Chris for doing all the items that required a little engineering or pick me up work. Christian patiently explained any of the construction I asked about and was a real craftsman. Drew was on site nearly everyday. The electrician, the plumber, the stuccoman and the tiler were all experienced professionals. Every piece of the job was an upgrade to the space both inside the walls and out. We've been waiting 10 years to remodel our kitchen. We had put a lot of thought into what we wanted. I am very grateful that Coastal Designs was the one to build our ideas. Thanks guys!

I’m not sure how we could ever convey our gratitude to Coastal Designs and his entire team in the remodel of our Master Bathroom. Going through a major remodel is never fun and can be very intrusive. From day 1, even before demolition, Drew and his foreman Christian, were extremely respectful and did an amazing job making sure we felt comfortable amidst all the chaos. Our experience with Coastal Design was wonderful. Drew and his team did beautiful work, they were very professional, knowledgeable and timely and on top of all of that, it was the cleanest job site I have ever seen. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

I researched quite a few remodeling firms before settling on Coastal Designs. The reviews and levels of satisfaction were so overwhelming positive that I had to call Drew for an estimate on my remodel. This was a big job, much bigger than we had expected. It is half of a duplex and had been rented, continuously, since the mid-70’s. To say it was distressed would be a major understatement. Drew quickly diagnosed the condition and made a bid that addressed all necessary repairs. Everything (e.g. plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, wallboard, windows, closets, etc.) needed to be replaced. Except for the outside, the place looks (and functions) like a brand new residence. The work was completed on time and on budget. Workmanship is superb, everything done first class. What I like most about Drew is that he always answers his phone (incl. weekends, vacation, etc.) and that his dedicated workers were highly professional and dependable. This was my first remodel, ever, and I needed lot of handholding. Even though the project is now done, I still have contact with Drew for questions, suggestions, etc. I would use him again, in a heartbeat. The place is beautiful.

Coastal Designs just completed the second renovation project for us. Two bathrooms were redone. They did outstanding work and finished right on schedule. Drew Efimoff is very responsive but can also make independent design decisions that are tastefully implemented.

The master bathroom in our mid-80’s condo is an odd L-shape with 1 corner at a 45 degree angle, and with 3 large windows on the opposite wall. Directly in front of those windows, the original raised bathtub / shower was an accident waiting to happen. We had some ideas for radically changing the layout in order to make it much, much, safer, significantly improve the functionality, and to update and enhance the appearance and style to match our tastes. We needed a contractor who could make our ideas into reality. One that could hold to the budget we had to work with, and complete it all within a reasonable timeframe with minimal disruption to our home. Drew Efimoff and Coastal Designs came thru for us on all counts, working with us to figure out how to make it all come together and completing our beautiful new bathroom on budget and on schedule. Debris removal and general clean-up was done at the end of each work day. Everyone working for Drew was personable, conscientious and professional. Final touch was having Drew’s cleaning crew come in periodically and at the completion of the work to thoroughly vacuum, dust, mop etc. We are already considering Coastal Designs for our future remodeling projects. Drew was one of six general contractors from whom we obtained estimates for a complete kitchen remodel. After an initial meeting to discuss the details of the project during which he took measurements and photographs and provided input as to layout and design, Drew came back in a few days with a written proposal that was far superior to those provided by the other bidders. His proposal included computer generated renderings of what all aspects of the completed project would look like, a detailed breakdown of all of the project costs, and a project completion/payment timetable. Drew guaranteed that, subject to any changes requested by us, the project would be completed on time and on budget. Drew provided the name of a client in a nearby neighborhood whose kitchen remodel he was just completing. When she graciously allowed us to come by for a look, we were impressed by both the quality of the work and her comments as to how wonderful had been her experience in working with Drew. After a few tweaks to the scope of the work and the materials, we signed the contract and scheduled the work. We did most of the demolition ourselves, other than the removal of the soffit and the wall, and Drew's guys began work right on schedule. Drew is very detail oriented, and the sub-contractors he uses have all been with him for some time because their work conforms to his high standards. His carpenter, Christian, is especially meticulous. Removal of the soffit revealed that we were dealing with a load bearing wall, which was not entirely unexpected. This necessitated the installation of an LVL beam. I wanted the beam raised up above ceiling height, but Drew advised against this because the additional labor involved would be costly and would disrupt the schedule. Because Drew's subs are so good, they are in high demand and he has to schedule them well in advance. For this reason he is not keen on entertaining changes that would wreak havoc with the schedule. Drew assured me that Christian would make the beam look great, and he was right. Christian also did a super job building the knee wall and installing the brackets involved in building the island as I requested so that it could have a free floating end without the need for legs to support the corners. It turned out great. Drew finished our kitchen a week ahead of schedule, and we are extremely happy with the results. Drew is an excellent general contractor who takes great pride in his work. He always responded in a timely manner to voice messages and emails. He ran a tight ship and kept everyone on track and on schedule. He was a pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone considering a kitchen or bath remodel.

We were so pleased with Coastal Designs from start to finish. Drew is a true professional and was so easy to work with. He helped us through the planning phase, guided us through selecting materials, and communicated so clearly what the timeline of the construction would look like for us. Drew was great! We did a full kitchen remodel (including knocking down a wall) I highly recommend him and wouldn't hesitate to use him again. He is very professional and great to work with. He communicates every step of the process, gives you specific dates on when pieces of the project are going to be completed. His original quote only changed because we made some changes but he never charged us more than he said he would. Coastal Designs taped the floors off with protective material before the demolition began and always cleaned up after phases in the project were completed. Since we were living in the home at the time of the remodel this was a real plus. The project was finished a week before and we stayed within the defined budget. We are extremely happy with our beautiful new bathrooms and hall cupboards!

Coastal Designs did a complete remodel kitchen, master bath, guest bath and misc other work throughout. I highly recommend Drew from Coastal Designs! He was so pleasant to work with and easy to communicate with- a trait that’s not a given in a contractor. He’s very responsive, proactive, reliable and ethical. You gotta love it when someone does what he says he’s going to do. We met him in Feb 2015 and he was gracious enough to provide a very thorough quote with 2 revisions while we figured out exactly what we needed the scope of work to be. He began in April and was finished right on time. I would say he was way ahead of schedule but we got held up when I ordered some materials last minute that took a while to get. He kept me informed every step of the way and the process went very smoothly. When last minute decisions and unforeseen hiccups came up they were dealt with fairly and he walked us through our best options. You could tell the subcontractors take pride in their work. Coastal Design’s carpenter Christian is excellent- very conscientious and precise. Christian built us a beautiful new custom mantel. All of the subcontractors are courteous and did excellent work. The work that was done: Replaced entire kitchen including cabinetry, countertops, tile backsplash, professionally installed appliances (custom fitting built in microwave and range hood), lighting, moved peninsula to create more space, adjusted soffits and updated plumbing and electrical to accommodate new design and materials. Replaced master bath including building a new beautiful shower with detailed tile work, custom glass doors and luxury fixtures, installed free standing tub which needed slab/plumbing work to accommodate a free standing tub filler. Installed new vanity with vessel sinks and oversized custom mirror. Completed electrical work for towel warmer, new toilets, new travertine flooring with handmade tile baseboards. Updated guest bath with new cabinetry, countertop, undermount sinks, and shower/tub surround. Additional misc work done throughout the house: replaced window with sliding patio door (included excellent exterior stucco repairs), replaced lighting throughout including ceiling fans and chandeliers, did some new framing when removed a closet to make a home office bigger, misc plumbing including new water regulator, added a built in desk with under-cabinet lighting, replaced fireplace mantel, hardwood floor repairs, installed whisper quiet fans and removed soffits in both bathrooms.

We recently engaged Coastal Designs to renovate two large bathrooms. Drew and his team were wonderful throughout the process. Drew was very helpful with suggestions and met with us several times to make selections for fixtures, tile, etc. His crew was courteous, experienced and left the house tidy each day. The level of work was very high, and Drew's quality assurance standards were impressive - during the job he saw and fixed a couple of minor issues that weren't up to his expectations even before we had noticed them. When we asked about some sub-par wall texturing that a previous contractor had done in one of the rooms, Drew sent someone in to fix up the area for us -- so nice! Drew was very well organized and detail-oriented. When he said a member of his crew would arrive at a certain time and work for an expected duration, that's what happened. The project was finished about a week ahead of schedule. Renovations are never convenient for the homeowner, but Coastal Designs made this one about as easy as it could be. We are very happy with the results.

Drew was great to work with. Everything was planned out so well they finished a week ahead of schedule and right on the budget. It went by so fast and easy we were surprised it was actually done. We asked them to pay special attention to keeping the dust out of the rest of the house and the work areas clean (so our 2 year old didn't get into anything) and they did exactly that. He scheduled cleaners at the end of certain days/tasks to make that happen. He gave us a lot of great ideas and tips that we incorporated into the final design and we couldn't be happier with our new kitchen. We contracted Drew to remodel our kitchen and great room. My wife and I were initially impressed with his attention to detail as he provided us conceptual plans and an aggressive timeline for completion of the work. We were pleased when Drew started the job the day he said he would start and even more delighted when he completed our project on time. A JOB VERY WELL DONE! From the first time we met Drew Efimoff from Coastal Design, we were confident that he was the right person/company to work with for our complete kitchen remodel. He listened when we shared our vision, and added innovative ideas of his own to help us make the best use of our available space. Drew at Coastal Designs did a wonderful job on our master bathroom remodel. The scope of the project was big because we basically gutted the master bathroom and moved plumbing a little for sinks, shower and the tub. There was extensive tile work (flooring and full walls), new lighting, new cabinets, countertop, ventilation, fixtures and various electrical changes. Of all the bids we received, Drew’s was the most logically laid out, detailed and professionally done. This professionalism in his bid carried over into the daily work and management of the project as well. Drew was patient with our numerous “newbie” questions and helped in the selection of materials and color coordination (when needed). He was very good about sharing inputs on which materials worked best in his experience for a certain applications. Drew was excellent in over-sight of his subcontractors and was very responsive if any small issues came up. Since both of us work, Drew was very accommodating to our schedule when we need to meet to discuss a project related question. He worked with us diligently on the special sliced pebble rock design in our shower as well as the helping us with improving on ideas for the mosaic lay-out on the walls. He was prompt in telling us if there were any changes in cost which as appreciated as well (these changes were mostly due to our materials modifications to the contract). Our project was finished well within the date range that Drew estimated and we are very pleased with the outcome. My husband and I planned to overhaul our townhouse for a quite some time. During the process, Drew recommended things that will prevent future additional repair costs. He was always conscientious of cost savings without sacrificing quality. His response time via text, email and phone was excellent. He was polite and professional to our sometimes silly inquires. His selections of subs were also great and they all spoke highly of Drew. One thing I was particularly impressed was how clean the job site was. We lived in another house during the remodel so they did not have to keep the place clean everyday. But whenever we made visit to see the progress, the place was neatly cleaned and organized. We also asked for many additional tasks to be done which were not in our original bid. Drew was very accommodating in accepting them. The project was done on time and within the budget. We recently moved in and are enjoying this beautiful place Drew and his subs worked on. We are already thinking of next project with Drew.

Drew at Coastal Designs did a complete Kitchen Remodel (new cabinets, countertops, sink, appliances, lighting, etc…) for us. Our model included opening up a load bearing wall between the kitchen and family room to create the open concept kitchen. We met with 5 general contractors for design ideas and bids. We found Drew after reading his great reviews on Angie’s list, Yelp, and Houzz. He lives up to all of his excellent reviews. Drew’s attention to detail & pride for his work was evident from the first time we met him. We chose Coastal Design because of Drew's great design ideas, competitive price (which was broken down into a very detailed quote), and project timeline. He was on the job site everyday to oversee things, updated us daily to let us know the progress that was made each day and informed us of the plan for the following day. He spoke with us in person, on the phone, or in email at least once a day - sometimes multiple times a day if necessary (my husband I both work). Our phone calls and emails were always answered promptly. Drew was very thoughtful of our family's needs living through a remodel. Everyone he had working on the project was very considerate and professional. They all had great things to say about Drew, which further validated our choice to hire him. The project was completed on time (5 weeks) and within budget. We ABSOLUTELY love our new kitchen! We have recommended Drew to many friends and will continue to do so as we have never had any home remodel project turn out this amazing all while being completed in such a professional and timely matter.

Drew was the most thorough, responsive and professional contractor I've ever had the pleasure to work. That says a great deal as I'm a perfectionist and set the standards quite high. His ideas were creative and he always paid attention to detail from the very beginning. My project was a total gut/remodel of my master bath in my home that I had built 36 years ago. To me, Coastal Designs is the best there is. Drew has restored my trust in people! He is creative, accurate, honest, punctual and patient. After having dealt with other contractors, I expected h***. Instead, I now live in heaven :) He is very fair in his price, in that if he would go any lower, the quality of his materials/subcontractors would have to go down as well. He provides maximum quality while still being able to make a living. Other contractor give you a low bid, then charge you for all kinds of things that should have been included. Drew is accurate to the penny agreed upon and does not go beyond the time and cost constraints. He is a skilled project manager and works seven days a week so you do not have to face difficulties. Drew is the consummate professional. Very courteous, always on time, he listened to what we wanted and came back with multiple suggestions, all of which were great. We settled on materials, fixtures, and a design through several discussions with Drew and trips to fixture and tile stores. His price wasn’t at the low end, due to our selection of high-end materials and fixtures, but it was a fair price. We compared Drew’s design/price with several other contractors’ designs/prices: Drew’s cost was 10-15% higher, but we concluded (correctly) that Drew’s quality and design were well worth it – actually, my description would be “exceptional”. Drew’s team started the project on time and was able to finish a few days early. Every sub (carpenter, plumber, painter, …) Drew brought in was clean, professional, courteous, and did excellent work. Drew kept us informed on progress and expected work days. There were no surprises. Drew was able to complete the work on schedule, within the agreed cost, and to our delight. The bottom line: I would recommend Drew without reservation. It was a pleasure having him remodel our bath, so much so that we have just asked him for ideas on how to remodel our second bath.

Drew at Coastal Design was the most professional and attentive contractor I have ever ncountered. All work was accurately estimated as to price and timing and he stayed in touch throughout the job with frequent and appropriate updates on progress and issues. There were no surprises during the process and I am thrilled with the finished product. I have nothing but total praise for our contractor Drew and Coastal Designs. From the first time we met him he has been so personable! The bid he put together for us was above and beyond what other contractors provided. He listened to our want list and put together for us a detailed package that included drawings, pricing, appliances, payment schedule, and his personal guarantee ... all right there in writing. We made some changes and upgraded both the cabinets and the appliances and the communication between us never faltered. Drew was also very receptive about the design elements that I was choosing. Drew communicated with us everyday; he was on the job site almost everyday (sometimes more than once a day). The workmen showed up on time, were respectful, and cleaned up at the end of every day. Every tradesman that worked at our home did excellent work. The job was scheduled to take 3.5 weeks and the total time was 3 weeks and 1 day. Having your kitchen totally remodeled is a stressful situation; especially since 2 people in my family need to be on special diets and we needed to stay living at home. Having someone like Drew who you feel really takes to heart your experience makes all the difference in the world. The bottom line is that I love, love, love my new kitchen! It is both beautiful and functional, and I highly recommend Coastal Designs.

Awesome is a word I would use to describe everything associated with our bedroom/loft conversion into a Master Suite by Coastal Designs. My husband is very talented and particular regarding construction and finishing details so please keep that in mind when reading this stellar review!!!! From the first visit by Drew and Christian, we experienced "true professionalism". They were thorough and accurate in measuring and listened to our ideas about what we wanted to accomplish. They also offered their own suggestions and reasons when differing with our thoughts in placement of the doors, etc. A couple of days after their first visit Drew came with an entire portfolio and project plan. My husband is a Program Manager so he was especially impressed by that. We had three bids for our makeover closet and Coastal Designs was the most expensive. We were promised we would not be paying more than the quoted price - contrary to our prior experiences with contractors and a concern of ours with the two other quotes we received. Every one of the workers who came to do their part of the job was a professional in their trade and every one treated me and our home with utmost respect. The follow up by Drew was outstanding and we always knew who was coming to work the next day and where we were in the project plan. Since we started the remodel two weeks before Christmas Drew had his cleaning crew come the Saturday before Christmas to clean our home since he knew I was having overnight guests during the four day break before the work began again after Christmas. His team even washed my windows-inside and out- at no cost to me. There were some unexpected vents and electrical lines behind some walls that were removed so extra professionals were needed. Despite that, the work was completed earlier than expected and with no extra charges to us. As promised, our quote for the work was what we paid. My husband and I subscribed to Angie's List because we are new to San Diego and no one, not even our realtor, could give us the name of a contractor who was consistent in their work. We had a nightmare experience in remodeling our kitchen when living in VA so we did not want a repeat of that horrific and very expensive "lessons learned". If you are looking for a quality company and live by the motto " you get what you pay for" then Coastal Designs is a terrific choice. I have already referred friends to them and am telling my realtor as well!!!

I had worked with Drew before, but this kitchen was all my own. Drew made great suggestions, but I made all of the final choices. I am thrilled with the final outcome. The kitchen is the same footprint, but has better flow and is more useful, with great storage. I will definitely use Drew and Coastal Designs for my next project. (Bathroom remodel)
