Bauman Construction built a rustic wine cellar for our Saratoga home. Craig and his team built the Cellar under a Home Office he was constructing. The Cellar has a spiral staircase down from the office The Cellar was made rustic by using heavily applied plaster and then applying a "Faux Limestone" paint resulting in a true Wine Cave ambiance.

I can highly recommend Bauman Construction. Craig finished our project in Fall 2008, and we are still very pleased with our home. It was our intention to hire a builder with a long and good track record. We wanted someone who would handle the whole project so that it was worry and management free for us. Craig completely fulfilled that wish. Our house has a craftsman flavor, and there's a lot of trim, both inside and out. Craig's attention to detail was outstanding, and we are extremely happy with everything. He takes pride in his work, and sometimes I think he looked more critically at the finished product than I did. It was hard for me to find anything that he or his employees hadn't already spotted on their own. Craig is good at figuring out what's important to his clients and hiring subs to match. Craig's employees and subs were all professional, highly skilled, and also very nice. He and his team are good at problem solving and were able to address the few issues that arose in our project with fairness, integrity, and good ideas.

Craig has done four projects for me over the years including a new 5400 square foot house which we live in now. Craig is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and he does high quality work. In all the projects he has done for me over the years I do not have a single complaint. In the house we live in now, as part of the project he did a very elaborate basement with high ceilings and a full bath, and I was very concerned that we would have problems after the house was done. Craig did an amazing job and the basement is a huge hit and we have never had a single problem with anything. Craig is great!

Craig and his crew worked an extensive remodel of our 100 year old Craftsman house. He put in a full basement, new kitchen, multiple bathrooms, and updated finishes, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Being an old house, there were some surprises that Craig handled amazingly well. Unlike some larger contractors, we actually met with Craig often. He kept us up to date on the construction progress, informed us of decisions that were needed, and tracked the budget. Craig was very good in helping us make trade-offs when we bumped up against budget and kept us well informed of everything that was happening. His crew was professional and did a high quality job. We're happy with the work that Craig did and not only would recommend him for any type of job, small to large, but we'd work with him again on our next project.

Craig was the general contractor for the construction our winery and entertainment buildings in the Santa Cruz Mountains above Cupertino. We now have a fabulous addition to our home and the facilities to make 300 cases of wine a year. Craig provided considerable expertise during the construction, enlisted excellent subcontractors, and was easy to work with during the project. The result is a remarkably beautiful and very functional complex for our home and retirement. The project included many complex elements. The entertainment building has a 1600 sq ft 2 story great room, 2 car garage, office, loft, and an domed observatory. The winery includes a fermentation room, barrel cellar, and shop. Cooling for the cellar and winery is provided by a chilled glycol system. And, we have a 12 Kwatt solar array on the roof that provides 80% of our power. The landscaping is more modest in keeping with the wild nature of the hill country, but we do have a large concrete pad for wine work and a pool and spa. I can highly recommend Craig based on the great project he did for us.

Craig Bauman did a wonderful job on this two story addition to a period Monterey Colonial home of our design. As usual (I have used him on eight projects since the late 90's and he always comes through with flying colors. We worked with Craig on a major remodel that involved stripping the house down to the studs, significant excavation, and state of the art modern finishes. The project could not have gone better. Craig submitted an exceptionally competitive bid. He completed the job within 5% of the forecast and on time. He was also a pleasure to deal with: prompt response times, creative solutions, and constructive work as member of a larger team. Hard to ask for more in a general contractor.
