David Wilkes Builders is one of our favorite builders, and practically our 'go-to' recommendation for nearly every project. Their quality is among the best one can hire in the Austin area and their expertise with finishes, finish carpentry and every detail is evidence of their excellence in the basics that we don't always see as well. We also love working with them on a personal level. The husband and wife team are great people, pleasant to work with and very client-friendly and therefore excellent to recommend. It is true that the best quality is more expensive, but that only seems true at the beginning. What the quality of a contractor like David Wilkes proves frequently is that high quality construction is so enduring that it ends up paying for itself in the long run by virtue of needing less repair, maintenance, and touch up over time. In the end one will be convinced that you CANNOT afford lower quality than what they do. I highly recommend them.
