We contracted Chris and Dovetail to renovate a home that he has built in 2002. We had considered him for a new home build that did not proceed but by coincidence he was the GC for the older home that we purchased. Chris was genuinely honest and incredibly responsive to our needs during the project and with follow up as well. He did a significant renovation with moving of exterior walls,creation of a new bathroom, movement of interior walls, removal of a large fireplace, and numerous other items. Visitors to our home cannot distinguish the original home from the new construction. The quality of the work is excellent. We had a number of changes to the project after it was started and everything was handled in a professional and efficient manner. Not everything was perfect the first time (nothing of this complexity ever is) but Chris was very responsive to the items that we were not happy with. I would definitely have Chris and Dovetail do future work on my home and build a new home in the future. He is not the cheapest CG but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for". I give him my highest recommendation.

We had water damaged in our house in September last year. I approached Chris Fry because I (licensed structural engineer) had designed houses in the past and were constructed and built by Dovetail Builders Inc. Chris had past experience with insurance adjuster and he helped us to go thru repaired items that the insurance would cover the cost. He also gave us new ideas to update the kitchen and the powder room. We appreciated the workmanship especially Richard, the wood trim and cabinet carpenter, put tremendous effort to reconstruct cabinet to match existing, stairway and doors. The superintendent, Daniel was on top of items that required to be taken care of. The final cost of repair construction and time frame for completion were up to our expectation. We highly recommend Dovetail Builders Inc.

My project was to restore/perform finishing work on an original 1940's garage that was "unfinished" (as they were back then). It included: replacing the original (non-reinforced) cement floor (had to be cut out, removed & re-poured!), removing walk-in door & garage door as well as tearing down some home-made shelves. A new roof was installed with a "ridge vent" for cooling, some of the lower rotting panels on the outside were replaced with Hardi-Plank, and painted. The inside was insulated, covered in drywall, textured & painted. All the electrical was re-wired prior to drywall installation. A new walk-in door, insulated garage door and small window a/c was installed. Finished work more than met expectation!

Dovetail Builders gave me my dream kitchen! Their attention to detail was amazing with the work completed on time. They successfully incorporated our design preferences into a room that we want to spend more time in. Cooking and entertaining are an important part of our home life.
