Robert and his team did a major kitchen remodel (floors to ceilings) and were high on interpreting our unique design elements, keen on quality and conscious about costs and keeping us informed at all steps.

Robert Dunn Tore my kitchen out down to the studs in my house in Forrest Hills. He had beautiful cabinets made, and oversaw my new built in Thermidor refrigerator and separate freezer installation. As well as a huge new window, new deck and Travertine tile.He did an amazing job and was great to work with, as well as his staff. We did not want them to leave!!!!!

We hired Dunn Development, Inc to do a major renovation including the entire first floor of our home...all while living upstairs with our two very small children! I was very nervous about this plan, but Robert made it as easy as can be expected! The worksite was always kept incredibly clean and our privacy was respected. Robert and his team are so professional...not to mention incredibly kind. They went above-and-beyond for us on multiple occasions. We are planning to do more work to our home soon and, of course, will be working with Dunn Development again!

Our house was built in the 1940s and we added a master bedroom and bath downstairs as all our bedrooms were upstairs. We were very picky about the addition matching the existing house including old brick that could be seen from the front of the house, trim inside and out, hardwood floors, placement of the large HVAC unit and landscaping. Our architect and contractor had worked together on other projects and were a great team working well together to make this addition the way we wanted it. The subcontractors were all professional and they all made an effort not to mess up the rest of our house as we were living there. The workmanship was top quality. We did end up making some changes as we got into the project and it did come in on budget. There was a very small punch list at the end which spoke to how well the project was completed. I would highly recommend this contractor.

Working with Dunn Development on our remodel could not have gone any smoother. They were always courteous and respectful. We are thrilled with the work that they did on our home. Dunn Development updated our kitchen, master bathroom, added a master closet, and a two story addition onto the back of our home and the quality of their work was tremendous. Everything was done professionally and timely.

WOW. We are T H R I L L E D ! Dunn Development exceeded our very high expectations, in every way. Robert came in on time and under-budget. We just can't believe how fortunate we are to have selected him and his team. We had an extensive renovation to our home - - kitchen, family room, playroom, mudroom, pantry, laundry room and half bathroom. A four-month major project. We decided to stay in the house, knowing that it would likely become a nightmare - - much to our surprise it was more like a happy dream! From the start, Robert presented a clear plan, schedule and budget and kept in great daily communication. Every person who worked on our project was courteous and professional and did a great job. We were amazed at the experience and capability of his master craftsman, Dean Kraft, the terrific electrician from Dodd (Robert), the plumber, painters, HVAC, cabinet people, demo crew, etc. They are true professionals - mostly small business owners - courteous, precise, take pride in their work - and just a pleasure to be around and have in your house. Robert has great relationships and they all seemed glad to be working with him. Everyone went the extra mile to be sure we were happy with the outcome. (Robert actually knows how to everything too, and his attention to detail is awe-inspiring.) It was a wonderful experience. Robert's wife, Jessica, is also a terrific part of the team. She keeps up with the schedule, bills and is part of the reason the company is so accommodating and accountable. I hired Dunn Development, Inc. to tile my two bathrooms. The guys were on time, polite, focused and hard working the entire time. They consulted me for my preferences, and truly listened to my answers. I felt involved and also confident that my project was going as it should be. The tile work is neat as a pin, and that's how Dunn Development, Inc left my house too! The only thing they left behind was beautiful tile. Thanks a million!!

I had seen Mr. Dunn's work firsthand in other Nashville homes and restaurants and knew it to be top quality. So the day came when I married a man who owned an 84-year-old house. The kitchen looked like it had been brought up-to-date approximately 50 years ago. I thought surely no one would want to take on a small (1-2 day) project where there were going to be some odd work-arounds due to the age of the home. Mr. Dunn came and looked, made sketches, gave an estimate, and told me he could get me scheduled within a few weeks. He was understanding that we wanted to save money by doing parts of the project later (painting). He helped us source supplies for more cost-savings. Overall the project was done beautifully and without supervision. When the crew ran into an unexpected question, Mr. Dunn just phoned me and presented me with some options. For me, I feel better having a contractor that knows which issues warrant a phone call. We have been so pleased with our kitchen upgrades and we definitely plan to use Dunn Development for future projects. Outcome of the work is 5 stars. 4 stars for a miscommunication that was later resolved. 5 stars because they came in under the original estimate!

I cannot say enough good things about this Company. Mr. Dunn and his employees personify the actions of honesty, precision, dependability, expertise and concern for their client. My first experience with Dunn Development was after the flood of 2010, which completely destroyed my home. Robert and his expert crews completely rebuilt my home, and were even emotionally supportive of me during that harrowing experience. I am a perfectionist by nature, ask many questions, make many comments and can be a royal pain in the process. I realize that fact. The experts who work for Dunn Development, and Robert Dunn himself, were encouraging, answered every picky question I had (with good grace) and built a new home for me to absolute perfection. I have since had occasion to build a fence around part of my home and did not hesitate to call Dunn Development once again. I use this company for everything and anything that needs to be done for or around my home, from plumbing and electrical to building any structures I might require. Mr. Dunn's employees are experts in their fields of endeavor and perform their tasks willingly, timely and with great attitude. They are trustworthy, honest (I had to be away from home while they were building my fence, and did not hesitate to leave my doors unlocked....they even let my dogs out to potty. What company does that? These guys do. Great folks) and dependable. They always took time to answer my 'picky' questions so politely. This, for a widowed and VERY Senior Citizen, is priceless. Speaking of prices, you will find Mr. Dunn's estimates to be both reasonable and spot on. In fact, considering the quality of work done, you will find the prices to be not only competitive but most reasonable. Dunn Development is not a 'fly by night' company. They live locally and personify integrity and perfection in their actions and work ethics. I highly recommend this company to you, and will continue to have it as my 'go to' people for anything that needs to be built or rebuilt around my home. Perfection in a polite, professional timely manner should be their 'byline'.

It was refreshing to see a contractor post their mission statement on site prior to the start of work. All of the direct hires and sub-contractors were mindful of its provisions. Robert and his crew were professional, diligent and did their very best to fulfill our expectations. The project (master bedroom and two bath remodels with custom shower, vanity, closet and storage ) came in on time and at budget. This project required work from contractors in framing, plumbing, electrical, carpet and tile, painting, cabinet making and finish carpentry. The last two are Dunn Development specialties. No project I've ever been associated with has been completed 100% trouble free, and this one was no exception. What I can say though is that Dunn Development worked through any and all issues with a minimum of fuss and entirely satisfactory results - and still met budget! I have recommended Dunn Development to friends and neighbors and will not hesitate to call Robert for our next project. If it were an option I would give 4 3/4 stars.

General contractor New garage door and opening, French doors, renovate bathroom, build walls. Contractor did an excellent job on all work. Projects were done on or below budget. I will definately hire again.

We wanted to build a free-standing garage to house our boat and truck. We contracted with Dunn Development, Inc. for this project. Through our initial discussion to the end of the project, all went very well. The garage is 28 x 32, with an attic space in which we can stand. We were placing the garage at the foot of an incline, which required some excavation. This was done quickly, and the slab was laid for the floor. The cost came in at what we expected, and the work was done extremely well and neatly! We then watched the carpenters begin to build the structure. Dunn Development brought in a very experienced and capable team, and they were courteous - and they cleaned up at the end of every day! (You can see I think that is important!) The work continued with the same type of professionalism and courtesy for the drywall, electrical, siding and painting. All of the teams were top-notch, and they all cleaned up the work site as they went. Additionally, Dunn Development suggested that we could get our electric service from the street to the house placed underground, working this in with the electric work for the garage. We had an existing pole that was very close to the garage; Dunn Develop. came up with a plan to move our house meter to our garage, bringing the electric underground. They worked closely with the electric company to get placed a new, better-located pole, to hook us up. We were in business! We are in a heavily wooded area and having the electric service underground is very desirable. All permitting and inspections went exceedingly well. All told, we have received many compliments on our garage. We are very pleased with the work, professionalism and courtesy of the crews. And, we stayed in budget. We plan to have this company do some additional work on our home this year.

Dunn Development is a great company to work with! Robert is on the job himself, has excellent communication and handles every detail. They did a remodel on our very old farmhouse and got it done on time within budget and we are thrilled. We very highly recommend them!
