We had two of our main rooms incur major water damage in March. Initially, I was impressed. Very responsive--arrived within two hours of my first call and got some of the contract workers out the first day. Was quoted a 3-4 week project. Tons of work was done in the first 2 weeks--very pleased with the work done...and then it took 4 weeks in order to complete tasks that should have taken days (painting a walls and moldings, etc). Some of which would not have been completed had I not required a walk through by the contractor to see all of the details that had been skimmed (like doors not being reattached, etc)--contractor called telling me they were done and I had to say, "no way." They didn't hang any plastic sheeting so our ENTIRE house was covered in drywall dust. We were out of our house for the entirety of the project and the communication was very poor. I had contract workers calling to ask me questions or telling me that the contracted workers before them didn't complete their part so other pieces would be delayed. A.) I don't believe it is my position to have to be the middle man between the contractor and those he is contracting. B.) Those being contracted should be given well communicated expectations. C.) One shouldn't have to request the contractor come out during a 6 week project to see what is being done. He should be overseeing the project--and therefore should be seeing the project progression at least occasionally. Now at the end, you can see very obvious seams in the walls where new drywall was applied, the subflooring wasn't repaired, only dried, so now only a few months later the flooring is breaking.
The end result was good, but I had a lot of issues dealing with them with regards to scheduling and getting the project finished. I had to call to check in several times and was told that they had other jobs they were working on. They finally finished up after I said "So, you're telling me that my home is not as important as those other people's?" Even then, I had to call them multiple times to get the final invoice so I could pay them.
We contacted Easley Construction Company along with two other companies for consultation and estimate. We had extensive water damage from an upstairs bathroom. This required repairing damaged dry walls and painting walls for several rooms as well as the garage. The dining room ceiling was completely redone. All upstair carpet and the bathroom tile were removed and redone. Hardwood stairs were installed to replace carpeted stairs. Easley contractors were courteous, knowledgable, professional and responsive to our needs. Each set of workers did an excellent job in their specialized areas. The work was completed in the time they projected. They did an excellent job and cost about $13,000 to complete.
