As the client's designer on several of John's projects I have been very impressed with his ability to bring a project from conception to completion in a timely manner and in budget. His subcontractors have a great deal of respect for him and his leadership on a project always produces high quality work with attention to the small details that are often overlooked by other builders. John knows how to work with clients and makes them feel confident and knowledgeable with the process and decisions being made every step of the way. I contracted John to help build my home which I moved into last month. Many friends warned me against building a home, however, I proceeded despite these warnings. The project was smoother than expected with only very minor surprises, all of which were dealt with expertly by John. He adhered strictly to the budget, and almost all overages where due to choices/changes on my part. He managed the sub-contractors deftly, and only involved me if necessary or at my request. He was always respectful of my ideas and concerns. He was organized and willing to discuss any detail I wanted to address. John was always available in person or by phone, and often at the site when i stopped by unannounced. The build time line was addressed up front and adhered to, in fact, I moved in earlier than projected. I have and will continue to recommend John to anyone who is interested in building or renovating their home.

John Gilley at Edinburgh performed our remodel. His approach to project scope and costing was spot on. In addition to our wallet he had our personal well being at interest as we lived in the house without a kitchen and down to 1 bathroom for 5 months. Once completed with the inside, we used Edinburgh for an exterior renovation. The best compliment we received was from our neighbors that had looked at the same facad for over 20 years and were WOWED by the transformation.

John is one of the finest, most conscientious, talented people I know. He built my home in 2005 and my wife and I could not be more pleased. The quality of the home is excellent and he was extremely cost effective in building it. When we build again, I am certain that we will call upon John to be our builder.
