Father and Son Building and Remodeling

We had a garage and siding added to our house. There was very poor communication throughout the project - they only reached out to us when a payment was due. Never responded personally to messages left by phone or by Email. They do not appear to have office staff - management is a one guy does all despite the name. Workers drink beer all day while on the job which would be okay but the workmanship was very poor - sloppy caulk lines with no attempt to make aesthetically pleasing. Took seven months to complete the project - on average there was a worker here one day for every 2-3 weeks. Very focused on doing things the cheapest way even when there may be a substantially better way of doing things. No feedback at all in terms of improvements. Subcontractors were told to cut corners when possible and we had to pay subs directly to get an optimal job done. I'm sorry, but I just would not recommend them.

We hired this firm 20+ years ago to put our addition on, and they were wonderful to work with; we decided to go with them for a total kitchen/living room/entryway renovation; wish we would've gone with them for our bathroom and roof. Eric, Scott and his crew have gone over and above what has been expected, and the job isn't even finished yet. My husband is home on disability due to cancer, and they have made sure that while tearing out the walls and floors of our 85 year old home that his health and well-being has been foremost, which is a GREAT comfort to me as I work a full time job. They have discovered and repaired some of the MAJOR mistakes made by our previous contractor (hot wires left in the ceiling for one) and when our plumber fell through (a family member) they didn't even stumble, just kept on going. --With some of the things they've discovered, I've felt a number of times like I was on one of the television shows that chronicle the horrible contractors out there and how they are repaired by one that is reputable. Currently the job is a little more than half way done, just days before Christmas, and I am LOVING the results, and their determination to have our home ready to celebrate the holiday. I really can not say enough about this company and this crew--they are a shinning example of an ethical contractor and not just someone who is out to make a fast buck at someone else's expense.
