We hired G. Thomas Construction to finish our basement. This was a new home and the basement was unfinished. From the design stage through the final piece of carpet being laid, Greg was very easy to work with. He is very professional, organized, knowledgeable, respectful of our property, and very competitive on price. He managed his team of people very well. We are so pleased with our completed project. We were nearing completion a year ago and everything is still wonderful now. It was a pleasure to work with Greg. His experience led to good ideas for us. He was very organized but still flexible. When there were issues, he was adept at working them out. We consider ourselves very fortunate - that we happened to meet Greg at a house included in the annual Minneapolis/St. Paul Home Tour. Our 1934 home was in need of a kitchen remodel, and we had put it off because we had never embarked on a project of this scope ('down to the studs'). From our initial inquiries, into more serious phases of bids and design, then throughout the demo, construction, and finishing work - Greg, his assistant contractor, and the subcontractor team - all demonstrated qualities that contributed to a successful project and beautiful end product. Those qualities included: regular communications, ongoing patience, adherence to the contract and estimates, consideration and respect for our home/property and schedule, quality workmanship, and daily progress. In addition to a significant improvement in our home - some hidden mechanical concerns were identified and addressed. The work included: opening the wall between the dining room and kitchen, adding a doorway between the kitchen and hallway, custom oak cabinetry; installation of new kitchen windows, granite countertops, backsplash tile, bead board, cast iron sink, three new appliances, new oak floors, back entry risers, back entry tile, and light fixtures; finishing work on the cabinetry and new floor; refinishing floors in three additional rooms and hallway; painting the kitchen, dining room and hallway; cutting down the radiator and reinstalling.

It was a pleasure to have G. Thomas Construction completely remodel our kitchen and powder bath. Greg, the owner, conducts his business in a very professional manner, and works hard to ensure surprises are minimized. Greg has a great relationship with his subcontractors; more than once we heard how they enjoy working for him. We were extremely comfortable giving his team access to our home when we were away. The quality of the completed project was excellent – couldn’t be more satisfied! G. Thomas Construction will be our first choice should we undertake another large construction project.

G. Thomas Construction Co. has completed several projects for us in the last 5 years. Greg has: 1) remodeled a TV wall with in-ceiling speakers in our family room, 2) remodeled a fireplace, added floating shelves, and added a flat screen tv niche above the fireplace in our bedroom, 3) almost gutted and remodeled our master bath including steam shower, heated tile floors, custom vanity, air soak tub, and fixed a moisture problem in the ceiling, 4) added a gym to our storage room area, including putting in a new egress window, 5) added a new full bathroom to our storage room, including heated tile floor and finding the water line under the concrete floor, 6) built a new low-maintenance deck off our house with cable railings. In each of these projects, Greg was a supurb communicator - always letting us know when to expect workers, giving his professional input to maintaining the prairie style of our home, and was not afraid to gently offer his opinion when I was going off in the wrong direction. The customer always comes first with Greg! I could see his contracted workers greatly respected him, and they were all easy to work with. Greg stuck to his original bid as much as possible, and would offer alternatives if we wanted to save money on something. We will always use Greg in any future projects. He comes highly recommended!

We hired G. Thomas Construction Co. to remodel our main level, including flooring, kitchen updates, lighting, dry walling, and other carpentry work. The owner, Greg, was a pleasure to work with. He was at our house every day, kept his subs on schedule, and promptly responded to all calls and questions from us. He made the remodel an enjoyable, stress-free experience. I design remodeling projects and work with a number of different contractors; Greg is one of the best contractors I have ever dealt with. He is experienced, knowledgeable and very detail-oriented. I always know that when I hand him a set of plans, everything will be done right and with the highest quality of workmanship. I have been a client of Greg Hosch's G. Thomas Construction Co. over the past 7 years. During that time period he has coordinated, managed and completed a total remodel of the kitchen and adjacent small bathroom in my older home (originally built in 1935.) He also completed the total remodel of the lower level (basement) family room at my home. In spring 2016 he will be working with my husband and I once again to complete some exterior projects for our home, including a wooden landing, stairs, planter boxes and additional work to enhance a new patio area. The kitchen/bath remodel (completed in February 2010) required demolition of the existent rooms, all new electric work, new plumbing, dry wall work, installing new cabinetry, counters, lighting, heating, appliances, tile backsplash, etc. The lower level/family room remodel (completed in March 2015) required demolition of the existent room, new electrical work, heating, sound system/media center installation, heated floors, new cabinets, demolition and rebuilding of new fireplace, gas fireplace insert, all new windows, including new egress windows with limestone exterior window wells. Greg is a competent and intelligent contractor. He is organized, efficient and a good problem solver. From the start of each project he was a great communicator and that communication continued throughout the entire project. On each of our projects he hired great subcontractors (including tile workers, masons, wood flooring experts, electricians, plumbers, heating experts, roofers, painters, electronic media specialists, designers.) Greg works with his team in a very efficient manner. The different trades on the project showed up on time, left the construction area in neat condition and helped communicate daily the status/progress of the project as it evolved. Greg also is very thorough about providing good information about costs, prices and cost changes that develop over the course of the project. He is conscientious about staying "on budget" and assisted us when making decisions about changes to the original project in helping us evaluate any increased costs. Greg was extremely honest and fair in managing the financial aspects of each project. My husband and I have worked with a variety of contractors on home projects over the past 30 years. G. Thomas Construction Co. is the best construction contractor we've worked with and we plan to continue to use them in the future. Home remodeling projects can be stressful and disruptive. However Greg and his team made every effort to insure that each project was a positive and creative experience. The final results for our kitchen/bathroom and lower level/family room have been exceptional. Each project has made our home more attractive, functional and fun. Friends and family members have been impressed by the final results after each remodeling effort. My company works for 45 different remodelers and we are generally running 10 jobs per week. There are very few general contractors who are on task like G. Thomas Construction. The schedules are accurate, he allows enough time for quality work and then Greg personally checks the work of his subcontractors prior to letting the next subcontractor go in.
