As I sit here and think of the words to describe the beautiful work, the excellent relationship and the relief it is to work with Jason and his employees, it truly almost brings a tear to my eye. I feel this way because I think of our kids and the life that he has helped give them. This is the 2nd time our family has worked with Gehrels Custom Homes. Jason made us feel like we were his top priority, and it showed through the dedicated, hard, and consistent work that him and his crew showed. Everyday his employees were in our house working, everyday until the job was complete. It is exactly what we wanted. Erick, one of Jason's employee's is one the nicest guys we have ever worked with in any line of work. His customer service is truly exceptional, he is very knowledgeable, and he was there when we needed him at all times. Also, he was very sweet with our little boys and dog. He is a family man as well and that showed. All of Jason's crew had these attributes. With all of this being said, Gehrels Custom Homes has the PERFECT combination of gorgeous work, excellent customer service and affordable pricing. We hired Gehrels Custom Homes to do a complete interior remodel of our home, which looked like it was stuck in the 1990s. This involved creating a more open floor plan for the main level and reconfiguring the master bedroom/bathroom suite on the second level. Everything in the house was torn out and updated to a modern aesthetic. Adding to the complexity of the project, we had a tight timeline of 6 months and were overseeing the entire project from out-of-state. Having been through a few smaller scale remodels previously, we were prepared for a long and stressful process with numerous delays. However Jason and his team were absolutely outstanding, and the remodel couldn't have gone more smoothly. The quality of work and attention to detail are excellent, and amazingly, they were able to complete the project in 4.5 months! Jason stands by his work and that of his subs, and even after project completion, he comes back to fix minor issues that we've only noticed after living in the house. We are so happy that we chose Gehrels Custom Homes for our remodel and would definitely hire them again. We love our home now, and everyone who sees it is totally blown away by the transformation.

Jason and his team built the house of my dreams. His employees provided hardwork, class and craftmanship throughout the whole process. I was very pleased with the communication throughout each phase of the project. The entire job was just about on budget except a few additions that I personally added in the middle of the project (new sewer line,tankless water heater). I was thankful he didn't add any change orders and treated me fairly. I would 100% recommend this company to any of my friends and acquaintances. I received a handful of quotes before I started this project and Jason was the most competitive. Before the job started he told me it would take 18 weeks to finish the job and he completed it in 16 weeks! I consider Jason a good friend after spending the past 4 months working with him.

Jason and his crew are one of the best contracting team(s) in the Bay Area. I have had the opportunity to personally work with Jason on a number of different residential projects, ranging from simple remodels to full-scale renovations. Five stars for Jason, Erik, Oscar and the entire crew! We renovated a kitchen/ laundry area that was basically original. From the beginning, Jason and his team were professional, communicative, professional and fast! They walked us through some unexpected obstacles and helped us understand our options to make the best decision. Jason and his crew built out the entire first floor of our home remodel (kitchen, full bathroom, family & formal living areas, fireplace, custom cabinetry, guest bedroom etc). We were first introduced to Jason through our designer when he bid on the project. Right from the very beginning, Jason came across as a genuine professional and he along with his crew presented as such throughout the entire construction duration. Jason's USP is their ability to stay on time and avoid surprise delays...it sounds too good to be true, but despite the typical surprises one gets during any construction, his crew always found a way to work around and adjust their schedules so overall you don't lose much. The crew was highly responsive and continue to be so, even after the project is over. They were very attentive, polite and efficient at all times. They worked well with our designer and the city permit folks to get the job done effectively. Big shout to Erick, Maurice and all the other folks that worked with sincerity throughout! They would always clean after the days work and keep the construction area manageable. The end product is fantastic and we could not be happier with the end product which was completed on time as promised by Jason. Jason with Gehrels Custom Homes is an exceptional contractor. His team is professional, highly skilled and easy to work with. We are currently working on a kitchen and full home remodel. Jason and his team have gone above and beyond to stay on time and budget. They've adjusted the timeline based on delayed deliveries to ensure the project will get done on time. Jason recently completed a major renovation of my home and we are super happy. I've had many friends tell me horror stories from their experiences with Bay Area contractors (a market where one often doesn't need to be competent to find work due to booming business). However, our six-month renovation only had minor challenges (to be expected) and Jason always made sure we were happy with the result. Here is one example of his integrity: I had been warned by friends to *never* pay the final invoice until 100% of the tasks had been completed, no matter how minor the remaining items were. We arrived at this point quickly and I paid Jason his last check. A couple weeks later I discovered a problem with a partition wall that none of us had noticed earlier and would likely need a couple days of labor to fix. I sent him a note the next morning and he had his guy there within a week. Problem fixed.

This review is LONG overdue. I met Jason the way you don't wan't to meet a contractor. I had to ask him to come over to finish a job that another guy never finished. Let me first tell you about my history with renovations, updates and upgrades. I work in the wonderful world of real estate. I started as a household manager and began managing "flips." I was in charge of design, hiring and overseeing the jobs. At times we had 2-3 going at one time so when I met jason to have him bid a big job, I first asked him to a 85% complete job that needed finish work. He handled that job so well, I hired him for our first full remodel. Working with him was a breath of fresh air. As he wasn't just working or answering to me, he also had my bosses to respond to, he never lacked in communication nor follow through. Over the last 4 years I have done countless jobs with gehrels custom homes. I work with many general contractors now and He is who I hired to remodel my entire house as well. He is organized, fast, talented and and communicative through the entire process. He calls and checks in (you don't have to chase him down ever) he lets you know who will be there and what they will be doing, he quotes you a price and is usually dead on, he estimates a time the project will take and never falls behind schedule... no matter what comes up. He gutted and remodeled my entire kitchen, start to finish and ready for photography in 5.5 weeks. His company may not be the cheapest, but consider that you truly get what you pay for. If the cheapest price is what you are looking for, this isn't your guy. He's runs his business very well, his guys are respectful, hard working, good guys. He treats them well which also says a lot about his character. He quotes prices openly, honestly and fairly. He doesn't gouge the price and he doesn't bid the job so low just to get it and then tack on more and more. If you are lucky enough to get onto his schedule, I would take it. If you are deciding between him and another contractor, let me save you the trouble. HIRE HIM. If you are just at the beginning stages of your job, CALL him. He has everyone you could need lined up. He has designers, architects, painters, plumbers and electricians. He is your one stop shop. Good luck! I'll add pictures as soon as I can!

We were very lucky to find Gehrels Custom Homes! We had a roof leak and discovered dry rot on an exterior wall. We fired our first contractor as he was never available and didn't see our work as being important. Jason of Gehrels Custom Homes, always made us feel like we were a priority. He always picked up our call and answered our questions with ease. The employees of Gehrels Custom Homes exhibited superior craftsmanship. They were also extremely friendly to our children, and were careful about closing the gate behind them so our dog didn't get out. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Gehrels Custom Homes and would be a reference anytime.

We hired Gehrels Custom Homes to remodel our house and could not have been happier with the service. Every aspect of the experience was refreshing. To begin with, we had to set an extremely tight deadline to get the work done. Other contractors actually laughed at me when I brought the deadline up. Jason took the request in stride and easily met the deadline. We remodeled our kitchen, dining room, living room and master bedroom. The results were beautiful and greatly exceeded our expectations. The quality of the work is unquestionable. The price for the service was fair and reasonable. The job site was maintained in a professional and orderly manner. The crew was kind and respectful. Jason was very open to our ideas, but also was invaluable in the recommendations he made. We actually ended up using the paint color he recommended and scrapped the other color we were set on.
