Greener Concepts Design + Build

We hired Max and the Greener Concepts team for a full renovation of our 1990s home. Pretty much every room touched, layout changed, kitchen and master suite gutted. We interviewed several contractors before signing with them. Picking Max was the best decision we made on the project!! Three things stand out. First, the team. Max runs a small, organized crew and he's on site or reachable pretty much every day. We always knew who was in our house and why. Subs were pros, on time, and respectful of the space. Second, the trust. When we hit a hidden issue behind the drywall (rotted framing nobody saw coming), he stopped, took photos, walked us through some options with real numbers, and let us choose. That's not how every contractor handles a surprise. Third, he saved us from making mistakes we probly would have regretted for the next 20 years. We pushed for some choices that sounded good in the moment, and Max pushed back. He talked us out of a layout change that would have killed natural light and talked us out of a vendor whose lead times would have wrecked the schedule. We're glad we listened. Every day we walk through it and feel proud of what we built together. If you're hiring for a major renovation, take this seriously: hire someone you trust to push back on you when you're wrong. Max is that person. We'll use Greener Concepts again the next time we build. Highly recommend.

Working with Max and his team has been a great experience. We did a full basement, and it was obvious how much joy and pride Max had through the entire project. He gave us lots of ideas for the design, and given his experience, knew what would and would not work. During the build, he stayed on top of communications, remained on budget and on schedule, while handling many different crews to do different parts of the project. The finished basement looks great, and it is made with great quality. One thing that is very unique but super helpful are Max's videos. He goes through great effort to create videos to explain different parts of the project, mostly around design, but also even to do budget updates. It is obvious it takes him time to prepare, but as a customer, it made it super easy for us. Definitely 5 starts, and only because we can't give higher ratings. Have already recommended him to some neighbors.

We hired Greener Concepts for a full-scale whole-home renovation, and the experience truly exceeded our expectations. The scope was extensive—new flooring throughout the entire house, a full kitchen remodel, a complete redesign and rebuild of our stairs, all bathrooms including the primary, plus new paint and lighting throughout—and he handled it all with an impressive level of organization, craftsmanship, and care. After several failed attempts to find a good contractor we finally found Greener Concepts to finish our basement. Their process was far more organized than we even expected. From the first walkthrough, Max focused on structure, moisture control, and egress, not just finishes. Max helped refine the layout so the space felt intentional and cohesive with the rest of the house. Greg handled day to day coordination, inspections, and scheduling, and communication stayed clear throughout from both. The work was sequenced well and never felt rushed. We hired Max as our GC for a primary bathroom full gut. I was so impressed with how much help he was with design along the way. I would have spent so much more money if we had to hire a designer. Max was on site more than I expected and actually answered his phone. He was really strict with his guys about tile work and waterproofing to make sure they were done correctly, not rushed. Greener Concepts did a bath and kitchen remodel for me 5 years ago in Milwaukie Oregon. They did some things well, like they were creative and the final product looked nice and it has some unique features that enhance the historic nature of the house. But it was a stressful experience and I feel like they took advantage of me. I'm now selling my house. I recently had the home inspected by a professional home inspection company. One of the biggest issues was that the gas range and upstairs laundry closet were both vented through the same unlined chimney. The inspector couldn't find where the upstairs dryer vents to. The gas range should be vented directly to the outside, not through a chimney. So should the laundry closet, it should go through the roof, not the chimney. The grout on the shower floor started crumbling about a year or two after the shower was finished. Greener Concepts came back to fix it once but the grout started crumbling again within months. They stopped returning my texts and calls. A year or two later I discovered that there was moisture under the shower floor tiles. The grout was redone but it started crumbling again after about a year. Last year I had the shower floor rebuilt and the plumber said it wasn't waterproofed correctly when it was put in. That cost me about $4000.00. I replaced the original hexagonal floor tiles with larger envelope-style tiles. I'd never do hex tiles on a shower floor again. Way too many grout lines to potentially fail.

After several interviews with contractors we were very fortunate to find Max. Max had a collaborative style that balanced our aspirations with the reality of a budget. Most impressive was the level of professionalism and integrity he showed as we worked through various aspects of a very complex project. Ironically, I found Max on Houzz. My pictures are probably not doing this justice. Max and his team did an amazing job. Max clearly has an eye for design, he chose everything I probably would not have and yet it turned out to be amazing. The cabinets and the mirrors were designed by Max, every fixture was chosen, along with the countertops, the floor and the shower is definitely one of a kind. As I shared to a few people, he might not be the fastest, but he is a perfectionist and takes true pride in his work.

Working with Max and his team to renovate my main floor bath was a joy. Max takes great pride in the quality of his work, ensuring every threshold was level, every tile and grout line was even, every paint line was straight. They prepped the area well, keeping the mess confined and cleaned up throughly each day. He did what needed to be done to make the project come out perfect. He remained flexible when I changed my mind and gave excellent advice on design. I highly recommend Max and will lean on him again when the time comes.

Max and his team renovated our three upstairs bathrooms and did a fantastic job! We replaced our contractor grade floors, vantites, showers, and baths with quality products. Max offered design ideas that really enhanced final look of each bathroom. Probably the best part of working with Greener Concepts was their reliability. They didn't shuffle their crew to different jobs, leaving multiple customers frustrated. They were here every day until the project was complete. One final point is around affordability. Our final cost was much lower than the quotes we recieved from other contractors - even after the inevitable design changes that occur on a project like ours.

After interviewing several contractors, we selected Max and Greener Concepts Construction for a significant interior remodeling project for our recently purchased home in Marietta. The project involved gutting and complete rebuild of 2 bathrooms and the kitchen, opening up walls between the kitchen and dining room, removing all the stippling from all interior ceilings, refinishing all hardwood floors, removing all carpeting and installing new sub flooring and new bamboo floors, installing heated floors in master bathroom, built a new walk-in master closet, replaced all light fixtures and ceiling fans throughout the house, and a complete teardown and rebuild of the living room fireplace. We are extremely pleased with the results. Max and his crew were attentive to our needs, and the creativity Max provided made a tremendous impact on the final results. We would recommend wholeheartedly.

In the typical search process, interviewing and receiving proposals and meeting in person, contractors were of varied experience. We had built two homes prior and worked with contractors before. This, however, was a special kitchen project meant to be very specific of my taste of design and the contractor's willingness to go above and beyond to see the vision and find the best vendors and suppliers. Greener Concepts was exactly the company for this! In addition, Max himself, is talented with tile design, overall vision and just has a wonderful "bedside manner". His Project Manager was equally amazing, and I never felt neglected even though they had other projects. I have constant compliments of our perfect kitchen. I purchased my first home last year with the intention of finishing the basement into a stand alone ADU, finishing the attic and adding a bathroom, and fully remodeling the main floor kitchen and bedrooms. I originally hired a design build firm that I had to fire before construction began for numerous reasons. I interviewed 10 general contractors and decided on Max mainly because he seemed honest and hardworking. Now after all the construction is complete I couldn’t be happier with the decision. He not only has an eye for design but he is a good leader, excellent communicator, and perhaps most importantly extremely detail oriented. His cost engineering for the house not only kept the entire project on budget and on time, but allowed for even nicer finishes and special touches. Somehow he managed to finish the gigantic undertaking in the 6 months promised. Even after the job was completed, he has come back multiple times to help with things and check in.

Max Mazur and his Greener Concepts team completed a smallish project for us. Remarkable that he was willing to fit it in between his larger construction projects. The framing, drywall and finishing work was exceptional showing meticulous attention to detail. The team protected our floors and were diligent about cleanup each day. Max did an excellent job explaining each step of the project clearly and simply. I don’t think I would want to work with another contractor or builder ever again if Max was available and if not I’d like wait. The kitchen addition looks incredible and the upstairs bathroom went quick and easy and looks great! We are incredibly happy with our remodel. We had a large remodel (kitchen, bath, den and flooring), and I had a vision in mind so decided to not hire a designer. Max was a great sounding board for ideas by providing advice and suggestions. Max and his team were always professional and friendly. They finished the project on time and within our budget, which all my friends were shocked to learn seeing as none of them had this experience with their remodels (they didn't use Greener Concepts!). Max and his team did an outstanding job remodeling my second floor, and it was a pleasure working with them. What started as a two room remodel quickly turned into a full floor remodel, and we couldn’t be happier with the quality of work. They took down walls, rerouted the layout, renovated a bathroom from the studs, built a custom vanity, refinished the floors, upgraded plumbing and electrical, repainted all the rooms, and matched all the original trim and molding. Whatever I designed, Max made it happen and was happy to do it. The job site was always clean and his subs and team were very professional, my kids loved them too! Max & Co. were hired by my husband and I to remodel our very small bathroom. The crew was a delight to have in our home and Max’s attention to detail is impeccable. I have very high standards and place a great deal of value on a solid work ethic, Green Concepts exceeded our expectations in all areas.

I had Max's crew redo two bathrooms in my house. I started out with a different company that kept increasing the costs almost daily. After consulting with a couple contractors and discoving I was being taken advantage of I hired Max. He gave me a fair estimate, listened to what I wanted and needed, didn't overcharge and the bathrooms turned out beautiful! Very happy!

Max and his team are by far the best contractors that I have ever worked with. They were professional, efficient, and finished my project on schedule and under their initial cost estimate. They also prepared and put down epoxy paint on the floor ... this is not an easy job. They knew exactly what they were doing and the result is amazing.

Max and his team did a great job on our department remodel project in our lab. They were flexible when we changed our mind about certain aspects of the project and were able to accommodate our production floor needs. The timeline for completion was moderately close to the proposed timeline. The installation of our cabinet doors were behind schedule due to the manufacturer's delay in fabricating the doors. Lastly, Max and his team stayed within the proposed budget, which was awesome.

I hired Max to tile my bathroom floor, one of a dozen or so remodeling projects in my new (old) house. Max did a beautiful job with the tile, and his price was fair. He also did a good job keeping in contact with me about the project, and he was conscientious about the timeline. I've worked with many contractors and Max and Greener Concepts are at the top of the list. If you're looking for someone who does great work, is dependable and is fun to work with, to top it all off, look no further.

Max is absolutely fantastic to work with. He and his team completely remodeled a bathroom for us- took it down to the studs, new walls, new plumbing, new electrical, new fixtures, tiled floor/walls and refinished the original tub. The end result is stunning, and we are very pleased with the craftsmanship. We plan on working with him on future projects and highly recommend him.

I hired Greener Concepts for my guest bath remodel. I replaced our fiberglass tub with a cast iron tub. A number of contractors wouldn't even deal with the cast iron tub. The tiling job was great. I had a complex herringbone design on the floor done in granite with each piece having to be cut. It looks great!! The quality of the work couldn't be better. I will consider them for future projects.

Max and his team did an excellent job on tiling three separate rooms for us. His attention to detail is fantastic. The result looks great, was executed on time, and they hauled all the trash away. What more could you want?

Greener Concepts, an incredible company. My wife and I have been on the hunt for the right company to take on our challenging backyard. Our house was built in 2000, but from the look of our ratty back deck and sketchy awning, you would think the house was much older. This year we decided we were going to bite the bullet and remodel the back deck and deck cover. I called a few contractors in the Vancouver area to come out and give me a quote. I was blown away by the lack of professionalism and “used car salesman” pitch I received from some of these guys. That’s when I found Max and Greener Concepts. Max came out and inspected my backyard. It was clear from the very beginning he was a professional who cared deeply about the satisfaction of his customers. He took the time to ask what WE wanted instead of trying to force upgrades and unwanted additions on us. He was polite, friendly, and above all honest. Max approached the job as if were his own backyard. He recommended materials that complimented each other and he sat down with us at our kitchen table and sketched out a blueprint of what we verbally describing. Side-note, it turns out Max has quite the skill with a pencil. His rough drawings were really quite good! I thought he had a background in architecture, but as it turns out he’s just a talented artist. The sketches were great because it helped us envision what our deck could look like when finished. 
Next came the price. Within minutes, Max had called suppliers that he works with and had a rough quote ready for us. He showed us the cost of materials and the cost of his labor. I was pleasantly surprised to find that we were actually below budget and we were able to use the extra savings to add a few bells and whistles (more on this later). 
 We landed on a natural grain brown composite decking, four beefy support pillars for the deck cover, and a sturdy tapered deck cover to replace the ratty one we originally had. Since we came under budget, we were able to add two beautiful skylights into the design. They let in just the right amount of light without heating up the deck in the summer, and now that it’s rainy we love sitting outside on our deck chairs and watching the rain patter on the glass windows. Max suggested that we finish the under side of the deck cover with a gorgeous pine click-in ceiling. I could not believe how good it looked when it was finished. I’m glad we went with Max’s suggestion as originally we were going to leave the trusses exposed and stain them. It looks so much better this way. Max also suggested that we wrap the support pillars and cross braces in cedar planks. This extra ~$150 worth of cedar took the finishing of the deck cover to a whole new level. 
I could not be happier with how it turned out. I feel like I have to upgrade other areas of my house to match my fancy new deck and deck cover. I really appreciate how Max first and foremost sought to understand what we wanted, and then offered his suggestions to compliment our ideas instead of doing what so many other contractors do and show up with a “my way or the highway” mentality. 
 Here is a complete list of what Greener Concepts did for us: Demolition of the old deck and deck cover. Reframing the deck since the prior owner did not use treated wood and the old deck frame was rotting out. Pouring concrete for the 4 pillars that would support the deck. Installation of the beautiful composite decking. Erecting the 4 support pillars. Anchoring the deck cover frame to the house and making sure it is up to code. Framing the deck cover and skylights. Roofing the deck cover. Wiring the recessed lights up to code. Installing the pine click-in deck cover ceiling and recessed lighting. Take a look at some of the before and after shots I have included below. 
 I cannot recommend Greener Concepts highly enough. If there were six stars, I’d give it to them. As a consumer I value honesty and quality above all else. I got both of those things in spades with Greener Concepts. I am planning on redoing my bathrooms within the next two years, and you bet the first quote I get will be from Greener Concepts.

We hired Max and Greener Concepts Contracting for a full kitchen remodel that involved some demo work to remove a wall and open up the space. We had a pretty tight budget and Max worked very hard to accommodate it. He consistently had good ideas to solve little issues that came up and was very responsive to any concerns that we had. The project was completed well before the projected date. Max and his team were very easy and enjoyable to work with and we are thrilled with the outcome. We would highly recommend Max and Greener Concepts for any house project and we would definitely hire them again for our next project.

Max and his crew turned my dank basement with old ratty carpet, bland guest room, and large unfinished storage room into a comfortable homey basement suite. I found Greener Concepts at Houzz because I was looking for contractors who installed cork floors, and was pleased to find someone specializing in greener choices in general. I appreciated that Greener Concepts already had a good number of reviews here at Houzz as my husband and housemate had heard tales of scams and theft in the wild wacky world of Portland home renovations. (Could it be this was the busiest summer ever for contractors building ADUs in Portland? I think so.) I was grateful Max could, as he said, squeeze me in between other larger jobs, and that the largest down payment check I had ever personally written was going to a trustworthy company. The first thing Max told me is that people like him because he actually responds to phone and text. This is true. I had already discovered some contractors just don't reply. We collaborated on the design. He hadn't heard of a kitchen with laundry before, though quickly helped design where the laundry would go as well as the large farm style sink I had already bought. The first task was to trench new plumbing through the room from the bathroom. Once they got started they found more trenching was needed, and that what was finished in the basement, a bathroom, hadn't been permitted by the previous owners. The idiosyncrasies of permit processes in Portland can be weird, and Max handled it, including knowing what the inspectors want and drawing up plans he mentioned would have cost a lot more from an architect, spending many extra hours in lines, and finding the wink/nudge magic steps that got our permit passed. If I'd had to handle that, it would have been stressful, unnerving, and confusing. As I was getting to know my new space and my future needs, our design evolved. We agreed tile rather than cork at the back doors would better survive our wet winters, I chose some tiles other than what Max recommended (not square). However, even with his reservation, he did a fantastic job laying the tile, and did his best to crunch the numbers so these changes wouldn't wind up costing me more. Together we found a large set of cabinets at the Rebuilding Center, which gave me the opportunity to have cabinets in every room rather than just the laundry/kitchenette. A talented painter of Max's made the cabinets look fantastic, and like new. My monster size sink called for a custom-made cabinet to fit it and the space, and the crew he hired for that did a great job. For the counter in the family room, they even used a scrap counter piece from my beloved Zen Center (the meditation hall with kitchen was being completed as my renovations were happening). For the rest of the counters, Max found some for me to choose from that would match in quality but not be too expensive. In the unfinished room, the previous owners' DIY duct work was large and soft-sided, and Max's crew changed it out for smaller conventional metal ducts, thus creating more reasonably small soffits. During the work one of these was missed under the stairs where I wanted my cat litter box room...I knew that would be clawed to pieces. I think since it was unconventional it kind of got missed, but when I asked about it Max fixed it and finished the human entry to the little room quite nicely. He had me get a pet door at the hardware store, which works quite nicely tucked under the low part of the stairs with cat entry from the family room. I'm pretty sure my cats love their room with large uncovered litter box after their previous home's little covered box behind the bathroom door. I too love it for ease of care-taking, and the smells and litter debris tucked away from living areas. I am so happy with how my basement turned out. Max and his crew were enthusiastic about my design choices, and steered me in safer design directions when needed. The original unfinished storage room had an odd window looking out to the garage, near some low-hanging duct work located under the furnace upstairs and near the house water intake. The idea of a closet constructed around the problem area evolved into a storage room, and then someone in the crew had the idea of putting in a door from the garage, replacing the odd service window. Perfect. I love this storage room. Who knew I would love a storage room? It also makes my bonus room so much better, creating a kind of hallway from the original door from the garage and adjoining the cat litter box room. Max clearly likes to create good design, and if he wasn't sure about my choices, he let me know, and if I insisted, he followed through with what I wanted and made it look good. If I had questions he didn't know the answer to, he researched or found the expert and came back with an answer. He came back after the job was finished for some small missed details, and to repair a floor tile that had come loose. One of the final details, tile back-splash, turned out wonderfully, and he surprised me with additional tile back-splashes at all the non-sink counters. Not needed but a sweet detail. Because of the added work, and the slightly more expensive counters I chose for durability, the final cost was a little more than the original bid, and I was fine with that. Because of the unexpected plumbing trenching and permit oddities, the job did take longer than originally projected. I expected that, but then it again took longer than the revised estimate and longer than I originally told him it simply had to be done by. It wasn't clear to me why it dragged on that much longer, so better communication about delays would have been welcome. Better communication about what days workers would be there would have also been helpful. However, this is minor. Max and his crew were really good at communicating just what they were doing to my space and why, and what work was just done and how to use it, if instruction was needed. I needed to move in before the laundry/kitchenette was quite finished and this caused hardship for me and affected the health of my cats. This is why I give 4 stars instead of 5. Overall I enjoyed working with Max and his crew. I greatly appreciated their excellent worksmanship, their respectful and friendly communication, and their creativity and collaboration in designing a space.

I have been working with Max with Greener Concepts since I started working in the floor-covering industry which is close to 10 years. His positive attitude and eye for interior design really it make it easy to trust him with his beautiful craftsmanship. I highly recommend using Max for any tile/stone projects. We found Max after a previous contractor botched our project. Our kitchen was partially finished, some cabinetry needed to be redone, and there were a handful of tricky carpentry repairs left over. They also did a tile backsplash with some irregular, handmade tiles that required a lot of skill to install. Everything was a success. They were thorough, organized, and efficient. They showed up when they said they would, and when there were surprise challenges they went the extra distance to solve them properly. The work was all done carefully and precisely. The workers were mindful of our stuff and didn't break anything. The final price matched the original estimate.

I worked with Max on converting a detached garage space into a rental unit after he was referred to me from a designer friend. He and his crew did quality work. No corners were cut. This was a tricky project with a lot of unexpected issues arising once we opened the walls and saw what we were dealing with. Max handled it all very well by keeping me informed and helping me understand what my options were so that I could make informed decisions. He was very responsive to my questions and concerns.

Max was recommended to me by a designer friend of mine. Greener Concepts did the bathroom remodel in the home of my daughter and son-in-law, which I project managed for them. The tub enclosure was complicated as it had a non-standard old claw foot in it. Max came up with a great solution for it and the new tub and tile look fantastic. His work is impeccable and I would hire them again. It was a pleasure working with Max as he is a "customer is always right" kind of guy, which is so rare these days.

Max and Greener Concept remodeled our entire downstairs area. We have dealt with general contractors in the past and I must say that Max and his workers were a breath of fresh air. Everything went smoothly and without any drama - Max took time to work with us and advise on the design, explain the difference between several kinds of materials we were interested in and took us through the process. When they started working on the house, I was pleased with how professional and respectful of our property the guys were. The quality of the completed project is just amazing - we couldn't have been happier. It definitely pays off to hire someone who loves their job and is great at it! I contacted Greener Concepts at the beginning of this year because I was looking to have a co-sleeper made for our new baby. This co-sleeper was Pinterest inspired, and I was actually a little embarrassed to seek out a professional for help since it was a more personal item. I also wasn't sure if companies like this even do small projects like this (is it worth their time? etc). When I contacted the owner of Greener Concepts, Max, he immediately made me feel so comfortable. He was so enthusiastic about the idea, which made the idea all the more exciting for me. We talked about what I was looking for and I showed him some pictures. He listened very carefully to what I wanted, while also giving suggestions on how he could make the co-sleeper even better. But even with his great advice he made it clear that in the end he wanted it to come out exactly how I wanted. When I saw the finished co-sleeper I actually cried. It was just beautiful. It's not an overly difficult thing for a professional to make, but it was the level of care of detail that Max put into it that made it really special. I could immediately see our little baby sleeping next to me. Max and his team built a pergola with a solid corrugated roof for me. He was great to work with and easy to communicate with. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and presto, he was able to create exactly what I was envisioning. I also appreciated that Max was easy to communicate with via text. I would highly recommend him!

We hired Greener Concepts to do the tile in our guest bathroom. We did floor to ceiling tile on all of the bathroom walls and in the shower as well as tile on the floor. Max and Eli did a great job and we are very happy with the way the bathroom turned out. It took me awhile to pick out all of the bathroom fixtures (mirror, towel racks, etc.) so I didn't have them when the project wrapped up. Once I had picked them out (2+ months later), Max came back to drill the holes for all of our fixtures which I greatly appreciated. They are both very kind and courteous which is important as they were in our home while our kids were there. The kids loved them!

Max and his team did a great job renovating our new home. Max was our general contractor for our 2 full baths, a powder room, kitchen updates (tile back splash and installing new appliances) and as well as some other odd and ends. His team was respectful while on the job with my family in the home and proficient at their job. We are happy with the results.

We hired Max on the recommendation of our designer because of his experience with basement conversions and ADUs. We couldn't be more happy with the results! We live in a 100+ year old house which brings it's own problems to any renovation project and Max was able to cope with all the unforeseen challenges. We hired Max and Greener Concepts to completely remodel a bathroom and create a bedroom/office in our basement. We were referred to him by our architect and our neighbor (also a contractor!), both of whom spoke very highly of his abilities. Max’s price was very competitive compared with other estimates we obtained and he was more responsive both on the phone and through email than other contractors. We also really liked the fact that his firm is smaller, and we could deal directly with Max throughout. But, don’t let the small size fool you – Max’s entire time is extremely skilled, talented and capable. We were absolutely amazed at how seamlessly the new remodel fit in with our 1930s-era home. Max and crew went out of their way to locate vintage doors and knobs that fit our house perfectly. They managed to blend in new walls with original walls, perfectly matching a vintage plaster texture. Max is especially talented with tile work and the tile throughout our bathroom is flawless! We really appreciated that Max did not blindly execute the plans we had. Rather, he let us know along the way when he noticed that our shower could be enlarged and that the basement egress window might be too large for the space when considering our landscaping. We can confidently say that his knowledge and experience improved our remodeling project. We started our project with a very tight timeline (with a baby one the way and holidays approaching) and Max assured us that he could complete the job. His crew was at our house every day, as promised, and we didn’t notice any lulls in activity. Max was very effective at coordinating many moving parts: plumbers, carpenters, electricians, painters, city inspectors, etc. He made it very easy for us, even though this was our first time working with a professional contractor. We genuinely appreciated that all of the people who worked on our home were very professional and courteous. Everyone did a great job keeping things as clean as possible and minimizing disruptions in our family’s home. We truly enjoyed having Max work on our house and plan to hire him again, should the need arise. We contracted with Greener Concepts, to open up a wall and to install a custom 48x96 Walnut modern sliding door system. The project was executed under a rush timeline and Max delivered every step of the way. Methodical, collaborative, attentive, precise and fair is how how would describe Max. Greener Concepts was a subcontractor for my tub-to-shower conversion in my postwar-era condo. They did the tile work for the project using 6x6" travertine tiles, floor-to-ceiling. The final result was nothing short of stunning. The tile setter (Adam) is a true artisan of his craft. He was thoughtful, methodical, and collaborative. The space had challenges because of an off-center window, which he solved beautifully. I found Max and his crew very pleasant to work with, and responsive to my questions and requests.

We hired Max Mazur, as Greener Concepts Contracting, to be the contractor on our kitchen remodel. To say we are pleased with the process and end result is an understatement. From bidding the project to the final details, Max and his subcontractors were consistently punctual, polite, and respectful of our family and pets. All the work done was of consistently high quality, and when it didn't meet our specifications or preferences, it was remedied. We were informed about every change in cost (either up or down). At all times, Max was quick to respond to our questions via texts or phone calls. Remodeling a kitchen is a major undertaking. Max made sure that we had a temporary sink set up in our living room, and that the work was at predictable times (ie, during the day only, never at night). We needed to have the project done during the school year summer break, and Max was able to make it happen. In seven weeks, Max and his crew demolished the kitchen; donated the cabinetry; updated the plumbing and electrical; installed new floors, insulation, and walls; and cabinetry, counters, and a tiled backsplash. By the time the school year began, we had a fully functioning kitchen! Max and his subcontractors do quality work, and we plan to work with them on our future projects.
