We hired Herman & McCarrin to remodel and expand our kitchen. We could not be more pleased with the job that Jake and his crew completed for us. The workers were professional and polite; they always showed up when expected. Jake did a great job of keeping us informed about the schedule and what to expect. Thank you for all of your efforts.

We are delighted with the bathroom that Herman and McCarrin remodeled in our home and the porch that they rebuilt on the back of our house. From start to finish, working with Jake was a pleasure due to his professionalism, communication, consideration, and kindness. The workmanship on both projects was beautiful, and we would not hesitate to call him in the future.

Herman & McCarrin recently completed a major renovation that included redesigning the living room, converting unused and outdated living space into a modern office/work area, overhauling the master bedroom and bath, installing new hardwood floors upstairs, refinishing existing hardwood downstairs, adding two new gas fireplaces, replacing windows, and painting and refinishing oak trim throughout. Service was excellent and attention to detail impeccable. The project required blending new oak, tile and stone with existing 90 year old pieces, and they pulled it off nicely. Agreed upon work was completed within the original budget, and extras were added at a fair price as we proceeded with the project. They are easy to work with, perform quality work, and are very accessible to discuss design options and work-arounds when surprises occur (as often happens with older homes). The crews are polite, friendly, and careful. We've used them on several projects over the past 20 years and have always been delighted.

Great craftsmanship and was very professional. From our initial meeting throughout the completion of the job workers were on time and finished the job on time. If I ever need a roof fixed our a job done around the house Herman & McCarrin construction will get the call. Thanks again for a job well done!

Herman and McCarrin did a project for us -- kitchen remodel, where we doubled the size of the kitchen, as well as a large master closet in the new space upstairs. Ours is a Frank Lloyd Wright home, so we were very particular about the detail in the new space matching the old. H and M were very meticulous and took great care in the work. We are delighted with the final outcome. No surprises on cost; they were very competitive. (Even though its a Frank Lloyd Wright, the budget was definitely not unlimited.). Workmanship was very good. They were also very responsive when we had issues to discuss. Their electrical, plumbing, carpenters, finish carpenters and painters were all very good, and we had no concerns having any of them in and out of our house. Again, workmanship was very good. After the fact, we wish we had dealt with a different cabinet provider -- not as responsive and accurate as the rest of the subs. I'm sure there were others H and M works with that we could have used instead.

We have completed two major remodeling projects on our 1940s Georgian and used Herman & McCarrin for the second project, adding a large kitchen/family room, bathroom and screened porch on our first floor. Their pricing was competitive and they were the only contractor that bid on the work that was willing to let us remain in the house during the building. The Herman & McCarrin crew was great! They showed up when scheduled and always left the job site in good order.. The team was friendly and professional (our kids still want to stop and say hi when they see their trucks parked at a job!). The finish carpenter did a great job on a built-in bookcase in our new study area and on the fireplace mantle. Their attention to detail was very good and they were very timely about finishing the little items on the punch list. There were no unexpected cost overruns on this project. Of the two general contractors we have used, I would definitely choose Herman & McCarrin for future projects and have recommended them to friends.

Great job redoing our master bathroom. On time each day, and always very professional. Wonderful electrical and plumbing contractors along with them, and also a great painter! I would highly recommend Bud, Jake, Bill, Luke and the guys.

Excellent job with all aspects of the job- quality of construction, flexibility, promptness, trustworthy, and communication. They have now completed two large residential projects for us and would hire them again if needed. Highly recommended.

Herman and Mccarin did a wonderful job finishing our basement, replacing baseboards and installing crown moulding. They were extremely professional, timely and helpful during the construction process. We felt very comfortable with their staff in our house. In addition, they provided great resources to help us find the best materials for our construction process.

Project Beauty and Happiness! The crew was timely, clean, efficient and has beautiful craftsmanship! We remodeled and "bumped out" a 2nd floor to convert the space changing a "tandem" large bedroom into 3 bedrooms, 2 walk in closets and new hallway. We also cut in a new master bath into existing large bedroom, converted a porch to an office and gutted an old bath. The project was speedy, but didn't compromise quality. We have a 1937 Cape Cod, molding and wood details were crucial to make the renovation look original -- and they did it beautifully! The price was EXCELLENT, competitive and fair; did not nickel and dime me at every turn. SUCH a GREAT crew with daily attention, time to talk and discuss if something turned up and suggestions for improvements along the way. I had previous experience with large and small projects for my work, but choose Herman McCarrin for my personal project and couldn't have been happier! I wish I found them years ago for other projects I was involved in. I would highly recommend Herman McCarrin!

Herman & McCarrin Construction remodeled both of my bathrooms and my kitchen, living room, and dining room. They did a great job and were wonderful to work with and just great all around people. They are easy to reach and always available for questions. All the people they work with did a great job for us too!
