Josh and the team at JG Contracting delivered a finished product that we’re really happy with. The space turned out beautifully and we’re pleased with the final result. Josh is friendly and clearly motivated to grow his business and continue developing in the field. Like any renovation, there were some challenges along the way, but we appreciated the effort that went into bringing the project to completion. Josh and his company was very timely and communicative with our kitchen and bathroom condo renovation. He always found the best prices for materials and was accommodating to any requests or changes we had. I would recommend him to anyone looking for reliable renovator.

Excellent drywall repair after water damage. The patch is completely seamless — you’d never know anything had happened. They also went above and beyond by improving the insulation around the pipes so this won’t be an issue again. Professional, punctual, and very tidy. Highly recommend.

We want to start out by saying we love our bathroom updates - our bathroom required a full gut. Josh and his team did a great job at bringing our vision to life. I'll also mention this is the first time we worked with a contractor, so it was a big learning experience. We lived in the house as the project was being completed which came with its own unique challenges for working from home and living in an active construction zone. Also, in preparation for the project we purchased all large finishings that would be used in the bathroom (bathtub, tiles, vanity, faucets, etc.) Communication: Josh was willing to chat with us whenever he had a free moment, fitting in our calls wherever he could which was great for if we needed to give him updates on materials we had sourced/purchased or ask questions about the project. Overall there was good communication with Josh as well as the sub-contractors who were working with him. This allowed us to make minor changes or get up to date on what was happening next with the project. In most cases, we did have to initiate the conversations ourselves, but the team was willing to discuss when we reached out. Work: There was a good flow of work, even with the challenges of Josh's growing and changing team. At least one person was in every day. Originally we were quoted completion of the bathroom within 2 weeks. However, it was extended to almost 4, due to Josh's team having multiple projects. But in the end, Josh and his team were willing to work with a final deadline that we proposed. The team overall was great at installation and quick to problem solve any issues that came up. The tiling sub-contractor was excellent. Issues: The finishings and wrapping up of the project was rushed and missing attention to detail. I believe this was due to the fact that the team was stretched thin and was given a final deadline. Josh was willing to come back and correct some issues that were left over (missing grout, missing cap at bottom of built in cabinet). However, some issues still persist - for these particular issues I think they need to be redone, like for example the bathtub siding (it is not flush with the inset bathtub and the caulking is thick and not well done - see picture below), as well as the caulking around the bathtub edge which has gaps that let in water and already started becoming moldy only 6 months after the completion of the project.

Working with JG Contracting & Design Co. (Josh and his team), from beginning to end was seamless. Had a vision and Josh worked with me on recommendations and advice on decor and ideas. I did switch things up a bit; a few upgrades and changes, and he was very flexible and worked with me on the changes, ie colour and style of door handles and hinges to major change of rebuilding/redoing the main stairway, doors and removal of popcorn ceiling, flooring, of course paying for the upgrades. But end result was all worth it. The team that Josh hired, completely trustworthy, hardworking fellows. Shout out to Felice, Devon, Ray, Moe and Kostas. Sorry I forgot the other two names. They were always there between 8 - 5 everyday, very reliable and I had no problem going to work and leaving them complete do their day. 100% trustworthy. Communication between everyone was also seamless. If I needed to speak to Josh or any of the team, they would answer their phones or call back very quick. I would recommend JG Contracting & Design Co. to friends and family 100%.

I was referred to Josh and team by my sister who hard work done at her place. The situation I was in at my condo unit was a bad renovation job by another contractor a few years ago. The shower base was not draining water properly and would end up leading to bigger issues later down the line. Josh came by to assess the situation and helped me find a middle ground where we wouldn't tear down the entire bathroom shower and start over. We opted to carefully remove one row of tiles, remove the shower base and rebuild the shower floor using tiles. The end result is fantastic and I am confident that my Shower Repair job is permanent. It also looks great. From the estimation phase up until post-project completion, I can only say great things about the experience. Everyone was straightforward, sincere, dedicated, and friendly. Lincoln is professional, efficient, and delivers high quality work in a cost conscious approach. This project required speed and adaptation that was a non-issue. I most definitely will utilize Exceptional Carpentry sevices again and have built a long term industry relation.

I hired JG Contracting to renovate sections of my garage. The communication was excellent — they were kind, responsive, and quick to address any questions. The price was very reasonable, and the quality of the work was outstanding. Josh and his team did an exceptional job, and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again.

Unreliable and Unprofessional Experience! I have worked with Joshua and JG Contracting on multiple projects since 2021, primarily providing licensed plumbing services. At the time we began collaborating, Joshua was relatively inexperienced and appeared unfamiliar with essential aspects of construction, including tool use, jobsite safety procedures, and compliance with the Ontario Building Code. Despite these challenges, I consistently supported him professionally and helped him execute his projects successfully. Recently, I was contacted for an emergency plumbing situation at one of his sites. The issue involved a leaking main water valve before the meter. Due to the city’s shut-off valve being inaccessible (as it was either buried or covered—responsibility of the contractor or homeowner), a complete shut-off was not possible. Nevertheless, I provided a temporary yet effective solution that protected the basement from flooding and prevented further damage. After the emergency was resolved, Joshua refused to compensate me for the completed work, claiming the cost was “too high”—despite the urgency of the situation and the lack of prior disagreement on pricing. This refusal to pay for a time-sensitive, completed service is unacceptable and unprofessional. Based on my years of experience in the trades, I must express serious concerns regarding JG Contracting’s reliability, accountability, and knowledge of provincial codes and standards. I would caution other tradespeople and clients considering working with this contractor. Clear communication, respect for other professionals’ work, and basic integrity are all lacking in this case. I do not recommend JG Contracting for any project requiring responsible site management, code compliance, or collaboration with licensed trades.

Josh is an expert in his field. He is very easy to communicate with and ensures his projects are done professionally and on a timely manner. I would definitely recommend his services to my friends and family.

We hired JG Contracting and we are so glad we did. You hear some horror stories about contractors so we were nervous about choosing the right one for us. Josh has come to our home on separate projects. His work is superb. Our condo needed some work and Josh easily understood our vision for the space and even shared some great ideas of his own. He began bringing it to life. He and his team were on time and prepared with the tools needed and drop cloths to keep it as neat as possible during the work. Each day he kept us updated on the progress and answered any of our questions. To be honest we had very few questions as he and his team knew exactly what they were doing and worked confidently. His pricing was fair and his goal was to make us happy with our renovation Josh and his team are highly skilled, have great work ethic, and are polite. We have recommended him to our friends. Knowing a good contractor is such a blessing and we won’t hesitate to call Josh at JG Contracting for our next project.

We did a fairly extensive renovation involving our entire main floor, outside siding and a complete reno of a 3pc washroom and mini kitchen. Josh was very easy to work with, had great communication, and was very reasonable and helpful in any additional modifications we asked for. His work ethic and workmanship were excellent and he was very respectable of our property. I look forward to working with him again soon.
