We’re over the moon with John Grabenstetter and his team—they finished our basement in 8 weeks flat, right on time, and it’s awesome. They sent us weekly schedules so we knew what was happening, and the guys were there all day, every day, busting their butts. We’ve had lousy luck with contractors before, but John’s crew was different—total pros. The basement turned out better than we pictured. The living room walls are reclaimed barnwood with these cool old beams hung up perfect, and the stone fireplace they put in is flat-out gorgeous. They had some smart ideas as we went along that made it even better. Couldn’t ask for a harder-working bunch—John’s team is the best we’ve dealt with. If you’re picking between him and somebody else, go with John. You’ll be glad you did. Five stars, hands down!

The finish is top-notch, the full bathroom looks fantastic, and the whole process was faster than I expected—without sacrificing quality. Pricing was very reasonable, and there were no surprises along the way. What really stood out was the attention to detail and the way they made the whole experience easy. It felt like working with someone who actually cared about the project, not just the job. Let’s just say they made me feel like family—minus the part where I had to help with the heavy lifting. JP Grabenstetter Construction did a fantastic job with my basement remodel. The quoting process was simple and most importantly John listed to what I wanted. Several other contractors just quoted the high end of the range I was willing to spend (or above), not knowing that I intentionally inflated the range for the quoting process to see what I would get back. I had a very good idea what the market rates are for this type of work and John was right in that range with a fair and honest quote versus trying to gouge the price. The billing and scheduling was very well run with pay as you go and weekly updates as to what was on schedule the following week. The basement was a blank slate when they started and the finished product turned out great. The team was able to take the vision that I had for the space, and make it happen. All of the team members that we interacted with were very courteous, pleasant and could hold a conversation to discuss any questions or concerns. The project was done on time within expectations. The quality of the construction is top notch and actually a much better experience than I had with my actual home builder. If there was a small downside, it's that these guys are not best suited for running usable ethernet cables and you're better off having that done separately. John did try to accommodate the best he could. The team also added board and batten wainscoting to my upstairs powder room and installed a new vanity, both of which turned out great. I would not hesitate to use these guys again. Note, the gym flooring in the pictures was installed by another company; however, JP Grabenstetter was able to install the shoe molding a half inch off the ground so I could easily have the gym floor laid on top of the vinyl plank flooring.

Finished home basement in seven weeks time including framing, dry wall, floor, bath room, electrical, plumbing, and ceiling painting.

John and his crew were wonderful to work with! Their quote was highly competitive. They stuck to the timeline they told us, and even finished a week earlier than expected! John always would keep us updated on progress, as well as what was planned for the following week. His crew were all friendly and very professional, using shoe covers and mats on flooring to get to basement to protect our flooring upstairs. Crew always showed up when expected.
