Who ever heard of having a major construction project with NOT ONE complaint about the contractor. I’m still pinching myself over my good fortune in getting Kanga construction to do my house addition. All of their personnel are top notch, skilled and thoughtful. Scott, the owner never forgets a detail. He thinks of everything. They showed up and worked a full day every day. The quality of the work is amazing.

Scott from Kanga has worked on our 250 year old historic house for over 8 years. He has respected the historic nature of this old house and has employed expert craftsmen from carpenters to painters and finishers. What he could not do he contracted with the best tradesmen to complete the job. He readily makes himself available whenever there is questions. His crew are respectful and timely. His ability to work with his crew, homeowners, other contractors and the City is outstanding. After purchasing our home in the Truman Annex, we knew we needed to find the most talented and trustworthy builder on the island to meet our high level of expectations. Kanga Construction has delivered nothing less than superior workmanship and service. We were so happy with the completion of the first phase of renovations we are now beginning the 2nd phase. Full renovation of house from 1890 in Key West old town. All electric re-wired, all water and sewage new. New AC's, ductless and central. Decks replaced and much more. Excellent work!

We recently had Kanga remodel our master bedroom and bath. The original bedroom had cross beams which were unsightly, but we thought structurally necessary. Kanga was able to come up with a way to remove the cross beams and IMPROVE structural stability. With no beams, the room looks so much larger! They also came up with numerous ideas to utilize previously unused space so that we ended up with a much cleaner look with much more storage. We've used Kanga several time previously and once again their attention to detail is amazing. On this job, one of the painters took one look at the paint that was delivered and said he just knew from working with us the paint color was wrong. He was correct - and he caught it before the whole room had been painted the wrong color. Scott's ability to manage subcontractors is amazing. He knows the importance of maintaining relationships with subs - especially in Key West where they are difficult to get under any circumstance. Finally, I would add that our Master Bed and Bath look fantastic - better than we could ever imagined!

We have used Kanga Construction for many remodeling projects and selected them for the ground up construction of a new home and accessory unit in Key West. We chose them because we knew the quality of the workmanship would be outstanding, that they would communicate well with us throughout the design/ build process, and that they would make design recommendations that would save money and enhance the final product. Those expectations were met and exceeded. This project was a bit unusual in that we were building for one unit to be a year round rental and the other for our ourselves. We had the plans drawn by an architect and engineering firm, but we chose to make the choices of materials ourselves in conjunction with Kanga. We viewed this as an investment and we wanted to get good value for the money we spent. Both Scott and Bill helped tremendously in pre-construction by pointing to materials that were very high quality, yet cost conscious. Their recommendations regarding windows, doors and flooring are areas in which they steered us to brands and choices that looked great and were a good value. The construction process ensured that the homes would last with little maintenance. For example, they use all treated lumber throughout the construction, not just the lower areas. This helps protect the building from the various pests that are common in the Florida Keys. They also recommended using foamed insulation in the roof. They indicated that this would result in significant savings in A/C electric bills and better home comfort due to its superior quality. Even before the A/C was installed you could tell how well it was working inside the house keeping the heat load down - a great long term recommendation. For the accessory unit, they worked with us to maximize every square inch. They found very creative ways to create storage including under stairs drawer and storage closet and a barn door on the bedroom closet that slides completely out of the way so you have access to the entire storage area. The details on the finishes were outstanding. Both Scott and Bill listen to the desired end result and problem solve to get a perfect finished look. The details on our stairs and molding and how they all flow together is one example that comes to mind. We started building just before COVID hit. Initially there were no shortages. As construction progressed various supplies were unavailable. Scott was able to either procure alternate supplies, or shift the focus of their work to keep the project moving forward throughout the entire building process. Kanga had to work with multiple contractors and suppliers and Scott was very adept at handling a variety of circumstances that arose. He’s very diplomatic, while being about the quality and timeliness he expects from those who are supplying the job he is supervising, even in the face of a pandemic. We definitely recommend Kanga for outstanding quality and great communication with the client.

We were very fortunate to have Kanga Construction and their team complete what became a complete remodel on our home. The attention to detail , communication and working with the owners and other trades was impeccable . Scott and his crew at Kanga do an awesome job! We hired them to do several different home projects and all were done extremely well and on time. Key West can be tricky finding reliable companies and luckily we ended up finding Kanga.

The professionalism and incredible timely manner in which Kanga Construction and their subcontractors performed this project was absolutely tremendous!!!! Kanga Const. was called on to complete this project in a very short time span (6 weeks) and they delivered without ANY issues or delays. Kanga Const. is very conscientious of owners concerns and extremely respectful of owners belongings.
