We were introduced to LB General Construction, Inc. and the general contractor, Louie when he was doing work in our building. Our initial impressions were that the workmanship was well done. He and his team were following the plans drawn by the architect and were following them with attention to detail. The worksite was clean and organized. After seeing the work, we hired Louie to renovate the bathroom. We were extremely impressed at the skill of the individuals that worked for him and the craftmanship they showed. Louie was present on site to ensure that the job was moving along and that the work was being done to his standard. We were so happy with the final product that we hired Louie to renovate the entire apartment. As expected, the job was done to specification and done with excellent skill. Louie does not take shortcuts and does not make decisions without speaking to you. Louie remembers everything that you speak about and is excellent in following up to ensure that he delivers. Most importantly the work is excellent, and we are so happy with the renovation. You can’t go wrong working with Louie and his team. You will be thrilled.

I can not say enough amazing things about LB construction and Louie. Louie is a pleasure to work with the most customer service centric contractor out there. He has amazing attention to detail, extremely extremely neat and organized and the nicest people working for him. Everyone that comes to my apartment is blown away by the quality of work and the outcome. He also took initiative on everything and created great timelines of when to order what. We did a full soup to nuts gut renovation and everything came out better than expected. I couldn’t recommend a better contractor in the NYC area!!!!

We selected Louis and his team from LB General Construction for a renovation of our NYC apartment that included a full kitchen and bath remodel, as well as new doors, tile work and custom closets. From the initial consultation and competitive quote to the last days of the project, Louis was incredibly engaged, helpful and responsive. In the early stages, Louis helped with the submission to our co-op’s managing agent and addressed their frequent questions (not an easy task). During the course of the project Louis worked hand-in-hand with our design team from Intelligent Kitchen (also great), kept the project on schedule and ensured the work was done properly. He reached out with suggestions along the way and helped us quickly navigate any unforeseen issues that popped up. Importantly, our building’s staff and our neighbors were very complementary of Louis and his crew throughout the 3 month project. We enthusiastically recommend LB General Construction and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Louis and his team did a phenomenal job on my kitchen renovation. Louis had some great ideas to reorganize the kitchen to brighten it up and make it more finished. Louis was very proactive and went above and beyond the initial scope of the work to make my apartment the very best work product. The team was also very respectful of the rest of my apartment and kept the kitchen closed off, and was also respectful of my neighbors. I was extremely fortunate to have stumbled upon L B General Construction, Inc. after being abandoned by my previous independent worker. As I quickly learned, it is extremely difficult to find someone to take over any renovation job after it has been botched up by someone else, but I was very lucky to find L B Construction who agreed to help me. From day one I observed that each person on the L B team had a specific skill i.e. painter, electrician, tiler, cabinet installer, etc. Everything was completed to perfection and right on schedule. As for every other tiny aspect, the owner was there to answer my questions, always getting back to me in a timely manner and helping me by giving me ideas and/or suggestions. In summary, L B General Construction, Inc. were terrific in every respect. They are honest and good. I can’t tell you just how elated I am with my new kitchen. It came out gorgeous - better than I ever could have imagined it could. I’ve learned the hard way, you get what you pay for, and the cheapest vendor may actually be the worst. Without hesitation, I highly recommend L B General Construction, Inc. if you’re looking to do a renovation.

Louis and his team recently worked on renovations on our apartment in Manhattan. The apartment had not been renovated for over 30 years and so it needed a significant update. The team completely renovated 2 bathrooms and completely reconfigured our upstairs space, alongside installing air conditioning throughout. Louis provided a competitive quote and his team not only completed the work on schedule but were extremely courteous and accommodating often going above and beyond the ask to create beautiful spaces.

When we heard neighbors say they loved this Contractor we quickly called Louis because we've only heard renovation horror stories. We wanted to renovate our Mid-century apartment kitchen and did not know where to start. Louis put us in touch with Intelligent Kitchen, a design firm in New York City. Louis and the designer listened to our hopes and dreams and put everything down on paper. Louis also filed the necessary paperwork with our co-op board and set up our chosen start date. Once the work began Luis and his team we're there every day and let us know in advance when they would not be there. LB construction created a plastic wall with a zippered door, which allowed for us to remain in our apartment during the renovation. We were amazed by the flawless execution of the cabinet and appliance delivery and installation. We were told the entire project would take eight weeks. Louis and LB General Construction completed most of the work in four weeks. We were shocked that it was completed ahead of schedule. And yes the new kitchen looks amazing.

Louis of LB General Construction, Inc. (not to confused with another LB Construction) was recommended by Intelligent Kitchen, a local kitchen designer/coordinator. I'm one particular customer and had very specific design needs which he never blinked an eye about. LB renovated my large kitchen on the Upper West Side to a chef's kitchen with all high end appliances. He was adept with appliance installation from Sub Zero to Wolf and just as adept working in my 1920's brownstone with all of its quirks. He stayed on schedule and his crew, from Tony to the subs that he used, were great. I felt comfortable giving him full access to my apartment while we moved out for part of the project. He also tarped the area so we could live in the apartment during part of the construction in the most thoughtful, thorough way.. LB followed up on any punch list items promptly as well. I even called him 8 months later when I thought I had an electrical hiccup. LB showed up immediately and the hiccup was not an installation issue at all. I would recommend Louis of LB Construction highly. Thanks, Louis!

Louis was very accessible and easy to work with. He was helpful in explaining where I was able to save money and where i needed to put more resources and he was right every time. My husband and I moved to NYC several years ago. Having no experience with construction companies here, we made a very bad choice when we hired a company to renovate our bathroom. After the negative experience, we were reluctant and at a loss about who to call to rectify some of the botches our poor choice had made. After some research, we contacted L.B. Construction. Louis came out, looked at the job and gave us what we considered a fair estimate. Although he was very professional, we remained skeptical and kept our fingers crossed. On the scheduled day, Louis arrived precisely on time. He and his brother got to work and finished the job in the time they had given us and they were very respectful of our property. They even found a small problem that we had not reported to them and repaired it - a happy surprise for us. Needless to say, if we need anymore work, we will without reservation call L.B. Construction.

Over the years I have done several remodeling projects, from small to large, but this was my first project since moving to NYC. After getting quotes from a few contractors, I found Louis to be the most understanding of what I was wanting to accomplish, and most in line with what I was expecting to spend. Although I thought I knew "exactly" what I wanted to do, Louis and his crew helped perfect a few details of the plan, and they were all happy to make adjustments as we went along and I would think of one more thing I would like to add to the project. Throughout the project, Louis was constantly in control of the work, and extremely communicative with me, so I always knew what to expect. As changes came throughout the project, he was very upfront with any changes that were going to come to the total cost of the remodel, which was one of the best parts. When it came down to the last day, there were no surprises, or extras added into anything. I thoroughly liked working with Louis and his team, and I am looking forward to the next time I get to work with them again!

Louis and his team made our renovation process as smooth and pain free as possible! They not only completed the job on-time (unheard of in NYC), but were also great sounding boards when it came to design decisions. They also provided their expertise on some snags we had along the way--which was much appreciated. In addition, even after the job was completed, they were willing to answer questions and provide insight! Their workmanship was wonderful and they always cleaned up at the end of the day. Whenever friends ask for contractor recommendations, we always (and only!) bring up Louis and his team.

We undertook a gut renovation of our kitchen and used LB Construction as the General Contractor. From the beginning, Louis showed his knowledge and professionalism. He was very helpful in working with us on the design phase, and had a great idea for venting our hood to the outside, which has been extremely successful and virtually invisible. We felt they were very knowledgeable about all the categories of work that needed to be done, including electrical, plumbing, lighting, and got good people to do that work without a hitch. When it came to the cabinetry, Tony installed it perfectly, and took the time to figure out how to get a cabinet into the apartment which the cabinet designer had not realized was too large for the elevator or stairs. There were other problems with the cabinetry lighting, which Louis handled professionally and creatively. He wanted us to have our kitchen and to get the job done, and he took the time and creativity to make it happen rather than sending it back to the kitchen design people. The appliances were installed in perfect condition. They were very professional and respectful with all our building staff, kept the building and hallways clean, as well as the rest of our apartment. The costs were presented clearly and without surprises, including the several unavoidable overages. All in all, we felt Louis was an extremely professional, creative, and capable contractor who we would use again anytime we have more work done. A New York apartment renovation is not to be undertaken by the faint of heart. We were in excellent hands with Louis and LB Construction, and we can recommend them without hesitation.

We hired LB General Construction to combine two one bedroom units into one larger 3 bedroom unit. It was a large project and a gut renovation for which the entire apartment (~1,700 square feet) was essentially redesigned and rebuilt. Louis and his team were excellent partners throughout the job. Considering the scale of the effort, we were surprised how well it went. Louis is a very organized contractor who has excellent attention for detail. This was notable throughout the process from the formulation of the initial estimate to carrying out each step of the project. As such the cost and timing of the effort were in line with our initial expectation. He is also an honest individual who wants to do things the right way. This helps insure that you get a quality result. Lastly, he clearly takes a great deal of pride in his craft not just focusing on the big picture but also making sure that the details and finish are optimal. At the end of the day, we had a result that exceeded our expectation. A beautiful apartment was achieved with as little headache as possible. At the beginning of summer 2016 I decided to remodel my outdated kitchen. I hired LB General Construction. Louis & his brother Tony were fantastic. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with their work. They were on-time and on-budget, which I understand is pretty rare for contractors. Their professionalism is beyond reproach as well; they followed up afterwards to make sure I was pleased and even came by after the job was completed to attend to minor adjustments I requested. I highly recommend LB General. I am currently saving up for a bathroom renovation project and I will definitely invite Louis & Tony to bid on that job. Who am I kidding, they will most probably work for me again!

I very much enjoyed working with Louis (and Tony). Louis is by far one of the best contractors I have ever hired. After receiving several quotes, I chose Louis to renovate my pre-war bathroom converting it from tub to shower stall. This was a complete gut reno including branch line to the riser replacement. His price was reasonable and appropriate for the work being done. Of course there were several surprises along the way and Louis handled them graciously without making me feel like it was my problem. We worked together to come up with solutions that worked for both. As stated by other reviewers, he takes pride in his work. He and his team did a beautiful and detailed job. He also followed up promptly whenever we had issues as well as followed up promptly post-reno to deal with punch list items. His communication style is refreshing and he stays available throughout so you can understand project status and details. I also received praise for Louis from my building manager and neighbors. My building manager enjoyed working with Louis and his team, and he is now recommending Louis to others. My neighbors commented on how courteous and friendly Louis and his team were throughout. Note: I live in a finicky, high-end building. I highly recommend Louis. Go for it!

Working with Louis and his team from LB General Construction on my apartment renovation was an extremely pleasant process which is quite an unusual statement to make about a contractor. They completely remodeled a NYC apartment including new floors, taking down and replacing doors and walls, entirely new bathroom and kitchen, new electric throughout with panel, new heating and AC and all permits. The quality of the work is excellent and throughout the entire process communication was easy and very timely. All of the workers on the job were polite, nice and extremely tidy. Best of all his prices were reasonable, the job was finished on time and within the original budget agreed at the outset of the project.
