We updated our 1939 kitchen by knocking down two walls to expand over the back stairway and into the breakfast nook. Now we have one large kitchen with a newly created peninsula and bar area with beautiful butcher block countertops. The lower cabinets were replaced to coordinate with the original uppers and new bar cabinets were installed to match the original built-in's that were in the breakfast area. During the planning phase, our basement flooded due to historic heavy rains. Lewand Custom Homes also repaired the damage and created a more functional family entertaining space. While we didn't plan to do both projects at once, we are very appreciative that the Lewand team was able to adjust and add capacity to get them both done timely and within budget! Looking forward to the next project with them.

Mary and I hired Lewand Custom Homes to complete a 2,100 sq ft, build to plan, home addition to our existing 1,500 sq ft home. We broke ground in July 2003 and moved back in before Christmas 2003. Addition consisted of a 500 sq ft ground floor addition with complete kitchen and bathroom remodels and a 1,600 new 2nd floor addition. 2nd floor included 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry room, open study and a 450 sq ft bonus room above the existing garage. 13 years later, this addition serves our large family extremely well. We have not had any structural problems or concerns. Most importantly, if we had to do this all over again, we would select Kevin and Lewand Custom Home again.
