Wes is the consummate professional who is also a super nice guy. Our project consisted of knocking down a wall to make an open floor plan (as we learned much more involved than we thought as it was load bearing.) From the first walk through Wes knew what was required to do it right. He also gave us great ideas to elevate the new space. He and his crew were a pleasure to work with. The job was done on time and on budget. We are already planning our next renovation job with Looking Glass Builders!

The Looking Glass Builders team handled extensive repairs to our house after Hurricane Helene. As general contractors, they managed our project which included new roof shingles, repair to roof rafters, replacing windows, shingle shake siding, walnut floors, kitchen/bath cabinetry, interior/exterior painting, tile installation and much more. They are very professional, responsive and communicate effectively. Looking Glass Builders crafted a detailed budget for the project and kept all costs within the budget. They work with a great team of sub-contractors and Looking Glass Builders ensured that all work was done to a very high quality. We are very pleased with the end result. I would highly recommend.

Looking Glass Builders and Wes were fantastic to work. Looking Glass has been part of a whole house renovation (kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, lighting, windows) and we could not be more thankful to find a trusted contractor to turn our house into our functional home. We hired an architect to design a large detached garage, two covered patios, and a third expansive patio with a massive hearth and chimney. He also redesigned portions of the interior of our new home. Our architect highly recommend Wes Wiseman to build our project, and thank goodness for that. Wes and his team (looking at Ken, Andy, and Tom in particular) were incredibly professional and industrious, not to mention kind and personable. They attended precisely to every detail. They also calmly and capably shifted to an alternate plan now and again as we made a few unexpected discoveries about our new home and property. After the project was completed, Wes continued to check in with us from time to time to assure we were doing well and satisfied with the work. After we were all struck by the devastating effects of hurricane Helene, Wes called us to make sure we were doing OK. When he heard that we had lost the bridge that connected our property to the only access road, he sent one of his bridge professionals out to look at our situation within 2 days. That bridge was rebuilt within 2 months and was no small project. To say that we are tremendous fans of Wes is an understatement. We are beyond appreciative for him and his extensive team. We recommend Looking Glass Builders enthusiastically and entirely without reservation.

Wes and his team of craftsman are excellent to work with. They are very reliable, capable builders, good communicators, and work well with older homes. After completing an extensive remodel of our historic home, we are very pleased with the outcome and would recommend Looking Glass.

Wes at Looking Glass Builders completed our basement remodel in 2013. He listened to what we wanted and the project came out exactly as we had hoped. Wes is easy to work with and is punctual and efficient. He kept us well informed about what was happening in the project and always answered any questions we had. Wes is an excellent carpenter and did some of that work himself. His subcontractors were great and we have used them for small projects since. Looking Glass builders did a full basement remodel as well as many other projects for me during my time living in Asheville. Wes Wiseman is very thorough, honest, and trustworthy. The work he does is truly top notch and I can’t tell you how many compliments we got from guests. He worked with us to fully customize different areas in the basement. All of his sub-contractors were excellent and he always oversaw all the work being done. The project was thorough and was done in a timely manner. I wish I had the same quality builders in Virginia but I have never found a construction/custom home building company that could compare to Looking Glass builders.

We accidentally found Wes through a mutual friend when my wife and I wanted to renovate our home and add a large deck. We got four estimates and, although not the cheapest quote, we quickly felt very comfortable that Wes was the guy to execute our renovations. He delivered the project on-time, on-budget and exceeded our expectations on craftsmanship. He is an excellent communicator who kept us updated on progress, timelines and unique challenges uncovered during the renovation. Not sure we could ask for more.
