We recently contracted with Loren Wood Builders to demolish and rebuild our back deck. The (not very old) deck had rotted beyond repair and we wanted a bigger, more functional unit. We decided on a two-story screened in porch but did not want to do the design work ourselves. We’ve hired out quite a few home projects and maintenance issues over the years - with varying - mostly unsatisfying - results. I was tired of unreliable contractors/sub contractors and subpar work. So, I did some significant research and decided that Loren Wood Builders would be a perfect fit. I can unequivocally state that - from start to finish and top to bottom - this experience was excellent. Ernesto Castaneda did the design, Seth McCanse spearheaded the team, and we had Loren’s crew and other subcontractors filling out the project. Everyone was professional, on time, and delivered as expected. We were so pleased with the communication and professionalism throughout the entire process. My family is thrilled with the end product. We can’t wait for summer!

I want to praise the employees who worked with me and my budget. As a single mom having a crew come in to my home and finish a room, I felt surprisingly at ease. They always answered my silly questions, helped me make option choices, and mostly updated me often with what was happening. The work was great quality and I love my new room!

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with the Loren Wood Builders Team. I had been hesitating on starting this project because I had heard so many disappointing stories about contractors setting unrealistic timelines, running over budget, and mismanaging subcontractors making the whole process painful and annoying. But then I found Loren's team: EVERY SINGLE PERSON, including the subs, that worked on my project was amazing. The timelines were clear and followed precisely; people showed up when they said they would; they were tidy-- and most importantly their work is impeccable. The attention they paid to the details was really impressive. Loren has developed a well-deserved reputation in Bloomington and I would not hesitate for a second to recommend his team for your project.

Loren and Joel were a tremendous help in getting our remodel across the finish line. What started as an attempt to fix some burst plumbing turned into a remodel of a third of our home. While we made a good deal of progress demo-ing everything ourselves, we completely stalled when it came to the rest. A big thanks to the LWB crew and contractors who together managed to put our home back together! Loren and Joel gave us good guidance along the way and everyone else was friendly, efficient, and showed true professionalism. So, Loren, when are we going to talk about the other 2/3's of our home? ;)

We recently had Loren Wood replace a deck over walk-out basement with a sunroom, bathroom and basement extension. I suspect it was a modest project for the firm. We are very, very happy with the result. We believe that working with the Loren Wood folks was the right decision and will go back to them for any renovation project we might undertake in the future. Without hesitation, I would recommend that anyone considering construction or renovation projects in the Bloomington area should include Loren Wood in the discussion. Reasons we are so happy with our choice of them to do our project include: 1.Because of the detailed upfront planning, we didn’t have to change much along the way. 2.That said, when we did change our minds, workers were cordial and accommodating. For example, when they initially framed a doorway, we realized it would cause problems with furniture later. They shifted the frame a couple of feet quickly and without complaint. 3.They do not cut corners and use quality materials throughout even in things, like the quality of the lumber, that customers might not notice. 4.They were extremely fussy about the finish work and spent a consider time making sure painting and caulking and similar small details were exactly right. They found things to correct that I would not have noticed for months. 5.The most important thing is peace of mind. Communication was easy and quick. They asked regularly if we were concerned about anything they were doing and were responsive to all our questions and requests. We were confident that they would deliver a result that was exactly what we wanted and would be of the highest quality.

We LOVE our new addition and Loren Wood Builders. They did an amazing job. Every person who worked on our home was genuinely kind and caring. Living through an addition is a disruption to your life and they made it as easy as possible. The quality of the work is fantastic and we couldn't be happier. They are great at communicating and I highly recommend them if you are looking to add on to your home or build from scratch.

Loren and his team are awesome. I had a small project that I needed done in a tight time frame and they made it happen. Courteous and polite....left the job site clean with everything done they had agreed to. They also give back to our awesome community in so many ways! Loren Wood Builders did a fantastic job on repairing a water damaged wall due to a leaking roof. The repair required removing all the damaged wall material and installing new studs, insulation, drywall, finishing and priming the wall and repairing the adjacent areas of the wood floor and ceiling. While this was a relatively small project, they managed it well and paid meticulous attention to all details of the work.

Loren and his team are 100% the best contractor team I have ever worked with. Their professionalism, knowledge, passion and dedication are unrivaled. I would hire them for any project in the future.
