Greg and his team turned my empty attic into a gorgeous living space. Custom cabinetry, skylights, tile work…everything turned into exactly what we wanted. Greg spent countless hours preparing and making every detail planned out before beginning the project. We now have a bedroom, sitting area, bar and full bath added on to our house that looks fluid and clean. As if it was always meant to be there. We are very happy with the outcome.

We hired MG Bros to build our transformative home addition and they did a stellar job! At the start, I could tell Greg and his team were extremely knowledgeable and detail oriented about every aspect of the home building process. I worked with a designer on his Luxahaus team to select all of the finishes on the project at the start of the project, which made the build process more efficient as we were able to order and store the finishes ahead of time. We purchased many of our finishes through Luxahaus including the triple pane European windows and doors, which were both high quality and reasonably priced. Greg and his team created a very detailed plan for the project and were on site frequently to ensure that the work was done well. Greg was also great with problem solving - any issue that came up, he was able to solve quickly. His team was also skilled with moving through the city permit process, coordinating details with the architect, and ensuring that we passed all city inspections. The end product was beautiful and exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend hiring MG Bros!

Greg and his amazing team turned my home renovation idea into a reality. They've completely transformed the appearance of the exterior of my house. We had an excellent experience doing a major kitchen renovation + first floor remodel with MG Bros. From the very beginning, Greg showed extreme attention to detail, providing a much more itemized and understandable quote than any other contractor. Julisa was extremely helpful in planning the layout of the kitchen cabinetry, and all the other small details that go into planning a kitchen to make it look great while also optimizing function. From start to finish, the communication on our project was excellent - we received continuous updates to the schedule, communication about any delays, and Greg quickly addressed any and all questions on our end. Every subcontractor exhibited professionalism, great attention to detail, and completed their portion of the project at a very high standard. Our project was complicated - we removed a load-bearing wall and had plumbing/HVAC/electrical/fire sprinkler system all in that wall. Greg coordinated with each subcontractor to get things moved quickly and efficiently. The installation of the kitchen went smoothly and we love our new space. We are extremely pleased with both the experience and the results, and will definitely use MG Bros for any future projects.

MG Bros recently did our basement and our kitchen countertops. The scope of our basement work was basically re-finishing it, removing existing kitchen, elevated floor, piping, installing new flooring, redoing the drywall and trim. We found them to be very communicative and professional. The process of estimating and scheduling the work was pretty smooth, they responded quickly and reasonably to all of our requests and questions. They seem to be working with quality professionals, the quality of the work was great and we're very happy with how the space turned out.

MG Brothers completed the full gut rehab and addition of a second floor to our new home. It was a very large project (basically building a new home) and they did it on time and on budget. We hired MG to do an interior renovation of our home in Evanston, which involved repainting nearly every room of the house, as well as significant electrical work, demolition, and carpentry. Jason led the project at out home, we were very happy with the work he and his team did. They were not the cheapest bid we got, nor the most expensive, and we felt we got a good value based on the quality of their work and their attention to detail (which we’ve always found lacking with other contractors we’ve used in the past). They were very responsive and took all questions, concerns, and requests that we made throughout the process seriously, never grumbling about Anything. They were always very professional and addressed all issues and questions raised promptly, honestly, and with a can-do problem solving attitude, rather than looking for a way to charge more to address the concern. It seemed that their central concern was legitimately making sure we were satisfied with their work. It was incredibly refreshing after having pretty much the opposite experience with all prior contractors we’ve used. One other thing that we think is worth specifically mentioning: we live in an older home and have toddlers, and so we naturally had concerns about lead going into the project. They took this seriously, provided all the required environmental documentation, and did everything to comply with the EPA recommendations and requirements for renovating homes with lead hazards. We felt that they took the concern very seriously and that Jason was monitoring everything that was done to make sure all precautions were being taken. We will definitely go back to MG for our next project.

We decided to go with MG Bros for our home renovation project after getting bids from 4 different general contractors. Their pricing was more than fair and they were very easy to work with during the negotiation and build process. They gutted our kitchen, dining room, and three of our bathrooms while also overseeing the refinishing of all of our floors. We have hired MG Bros for two major renovations and more recently an exterior restore and painting project. I can't say enough about Greg and the quality of work that his team does. The quality of work was top notch. We had several companies come and bid the project but MG Bros came in with the best quote and timeline. We wanted a team that would work with our budget, but still deliver a great product. Greg ensured the highest quality throughout our renovation while giving us ootions to stay within budget. My wife and I are both engineers and this was our first renovation project on our first home, so Greg and his team had to deal with a constant barrage of questions and concerns. His entire team was more than happy to explain what they were doing and what other options we may have. Nothing ever goes perfect in a renovation, but Greg and his team consistently made sure everything was to our expectations at the end of the project. Overall, I could not speak more highly of MG Bros and Greg himself. I was referred to MG Bros through my architect and they made a great team! They are excellent at setting expectations and use a program that lays out the schedule of the scope of project from day one through completion and stayed exactly on schedule. I was informed what dates I had to make my selections in order to keep project moving along in a timely manner. They are very communicative and easy to work with. From Greg, to the office staff, to the project managers, subcontractors, trades, and laborers, the people are what make this company great. MG took our ambitious renovation and addition project, carefully studied the design, provided detailed, line-item pricing, then proceeded to execute an extremely well-coordinated construction phase that put us back in our house a full three weeks ahead of schedule on a four month project!! I was continuously impressed by the cooperative and coordinated way the demo crew worked with the rough carpenters, who worked with the plumbers, electricians, and HVAC subs, who handed off immediately to drywall, finish carpentry, trim, painting, and final cleaning. I was most impressed by our project manager, Miro, who has endless patience and good humor, is always attentive, very professional, and has clearly earned the respect of the subs and trades who are privileged to work for MG. Our project was a big challenge from the standpoint of design, logistics, staging, unknown conditions, coordination, scheduling, and complexity, and yet MG finished ahead of schedule, right on budget, and presented us with what is essentially a new house full of beautiful finishes and excellent craftsmanship. WOW! Fabulous work! I've been building homes and low-rise commercial spaces for over 20 years, and I've seen a lot of carpenters in that time. These guys do phenomenal work! My wife and I hired MG Bros to do an above garage master suite addition and we couldn't be happier with the work. From the start Greg and Miro made us feel comfortable with them. When you are dealing with a project of such magnitude in your house, that you are living in during the project, it was really nice to never feel taken advantage of or like they were only interested in making as much money as they could. They are both genuinely nice guys. The work they do is second to none. I have and will continue to recommend this company. I already plan on having them do a few other projects around the house. We couldn't be happier with our experience with MG Bros Construction and look forward to using them again!

MG Bros. was able to handle all aspects of my considerable remodeling project and bring in the resources as needed to keep the project on time and on budget. My family was amazed at the finished product which was beyond our expectations. Although there were some punch list items remaining on the scheduled completion date, they were all handled quickly, without question and Greg made sure that the house was ready for our out of town guests and the holidays. MG Bros Construction and its owners, Greg and Miro Kawula, provide first rate construction services. I hired them to replace a GC I fired for failure to perform to finish a high-end, single family, spec home that we were developing in a North Shore community of Chicago. The first GC left us in a whole, with a partially completed job that was characterized with unacceptable work. Greg Kawula's team performed a forensic analysis of all the work done to date, made recommendations to remediate several areas of work that was below standard or wouldn't meet code, and then provided us with a budget to complete along with a timeline. In the end, he came in on time and under budget. He did everything he could to keep costs under control, made several important suggestions along the way. He was there first thing everyday. Whenever an issue arose, he would meet with us, discuss the issue and we would work to resolve it in a timely manner. He understood the need for the work to be of highest quality because the house we were redeveloping was to be sold at the higher range of prices in this community. His sensitivity to quality and performance was clear from day one and everyday thereafter. His crew and the subcontractors that he used performed to our high expectations. Adminstratively, every time we agreed to a change, we received a change order the same day. Greg and Miro stayed on top of every detail, every day. We appreciate the work they did for us, will use them again and recommend them without reservation.

I have hired MG Bros for multiple renovation projects now. They have always been quick to deliver a quote, to discuss and explain any doubts in their estimates, and to reach an agreed plan to move forward. Once scheduled their work has always been high quality and Greg has always been on site to start and finish the day and ensure the work was done to the standard requested. Willingness to make adjustments as requested and openness with regard to the potential problems or issues with a specific choice, is always present. From window replacement to structural framing, to everything in between I have been very happy with MG Bros and will look to them for future projects.

We hired MG Bros for a significant rehab of a part of our Lincoln Park home and then asked them to also paint the entire house, install new flooring and roof. We were very impressed throughout the process and extremely happy with the outcome. They were on time, impeccable with cleanliness and communication and met all of our needs. We also had to deal with city permits and landmark districting and they understand those processes. Most people are angry or disappointed with their GC ( it seems) but we had the opposite experience with MG and all of their subs. We couldn't be happier with the quality of the workmanship and the professionalism of the owners. We did a complete remodel of our kitchen and bedroom, adding a bath and walk in closet. We also added a four seasons room and wrap around porch. Greg and his team were always available for our questions and came up with some great ideas along the way. He helped us create a "secret door/bookshelf" for our kids room which was a big hit. While Edward and Stanley probably did most of the construction, everyone we worked with was excellent. Greg's attention to detail resulted in a great remodel and we are really enjoying our "new home."

Our project was a full gut rehab of an almost 100 year old house. Although we didn't add on, we did a complete gut rehab/remodel of our first and second floors and re-worked our entire HVAC system. The entire job took less than 6 months from move out to move in. Greg and his team were a pleasure to work with. They were honest, up front and realistic about the time frame and the job. They were always available, accommodating, and worked within our timeframe. Greg's crew of guys all seemed to know each other well and worked well together. I contracted with MG Bros Construction to duplex my Condo unit to the lower level and create a 2,600 square foot living unit. This is in a 105 year old building and required new water and sewer service and new concrete floor. I am a knowledgeable and a hands-on engineering type person but soon realized that Greg and crew were trustful and experienced and I felt comfortable leaving them in-charge of my home. Communication by phone, email and text was always prompt and complete. Every project will have issues, so I was pleased with the communication, the promptness and fairness on addressing changes. MG Bros. Construction Inc. is one of the most "professional" companies I have ever had the pleasure of hiring. The owners knowledge and expertise is immeasurable. His team of employees were always postive and respectable while working. They arrived in a timely manner, worked efficiently, and always cleaned up after themselves. I have had several contractors in the past who have done work in my home. Some wouldn't show up or others would work and leave the mess they created. I honestly never had any of those issue with this company. I will definitely be chosing them to do my next home project.

I could not be happier with the outcome of the project that MG Bros completed for me. It was a very extensive project that involved adding a story to my house and completely re-doing the outside and the inside of the entire house, keeping only the structural portions of the first two floors. They completely re-did the kitchen and bathrooms, gave me new walls, floors,doors and windows, and built a phenomenal master bedroom, bath, walk-in closet, and deck for my new top floor. Essentially, I have a new house, inside and out plus an additional floor. They did a great job, always making sure their work was to my liking. The owner/project manager, Greg, was especially kind and very easy to work with. Since the project was completed, they have stood by their work and fixed the little things that turned up, such as paint touch-ups and the like. Greg also had ideas that made the design better than it would have been without his input. Every day I'm pleased at how well my renovation turned out. I was fortunate to have been referred to this company!!

MG Bros re-did our kitchen and bathroom. We gutted the bathroom and started from scratch. Sylvester was polite, worked hard, knowledgeable, and did the most beautiful job on the bathroom. Sylvester also replaced the tile, fixtures, backsplash, and painted the kitchen. Again, he did a beautiful job. I could not have asked for a better job. I would definitely hire MG Bros again for remodeling and would recommend them every day, all day long!!!
