We loved working with Jim and his crew. We planned two phases, beginning first with the complete kitchen gut and remodel, leveling the floor to an enclosed addition which opened up to the kitchen, removing walls to and entry/ living/stairway to create more light and an open concept in our 1957 split level ranch. Beautiful cabinets, room divider and bannister created by Jim's carpenter/artisan from gorgeous live-edge walnut. Jim also reconfigured 3 bedrooms to create a walk-in closets for the master and larger closets for the other bedrooms making the house more efficient and updated to twenty-first century use and function. In the second phase, he created a movie/exercise room and additional bedroom in our unfinished basement with tray ceiling, and sound insulation. Works great! Jim was very easy to work and communicate with and the work was professional and of great quality! We would highly recommend Jim for residential renovations!

From start to finish Jim has been top notch to work with. We brought in several contractors prior to pitch their ideas and knew when we met Jim that he was the one. He's incredibly thoughtful, a great listener, very detail-oriented, and creative. He listened to our very loose ideas of what we wanted to do with our small master bedroom and deck and somehow tranformed it into a really amazing master suite, complete with office, sitting area, and walk-in closet, all thoughtfully arranged to suit our lifestyle. Jim was on site frequently throughout the project and incredibly responsive. His sub-contractors did consistantly high quality work and the communication was great throughout the entire process. Jim's pricing was fair and transparent. While the process ended up taking a tiny bit longer than we thought it would, we were thrilled with the quality and aesthetics of the outcome and it was actually quite fun working with Jim throughout!

Jim designed and built an extensive renovation for our home. He spent a lot of time working with us in the design phase, helping us think about how we would need our space to work as our family grows. We now have a beautiful home that fits our family perfectly both in terms of design and function.

Jim Egnew worked closely with us to renovate our 90 year old rowhouse. Jim had a great eye for maintaining the historic characteristics and charm of our house, while modernizing our bathroom, installing central AC, and all new windows and exterior doors (among many other things). We were very happy with Jim, and love our new (old) house.

We are very pleased with our addition and enjoyed our experience with Jim Egnew. He designed the space taking into account our needs, wants and budget and the finished product is beautiful. Jim was very attentive and flexible; often meeting us late in the evening after our children were in bed when necessary. He was very responsive and knowledgeable.
