Pemadale Construction completed a bathroom renovation in our new house. They were transparent and walked us through the entire process. Our renovation was completed in a timely manner and I love what they did. We would hire them again to do more work on our house. I felt confident working with them as they were insured and have great reviews from my friends.

First off, I can't recommend Peter Campbell highly enough for any level of remodeling or renovation jobs you may be doing. We recently used Pemadale Construction to remodel the basement, attach a garage and lay down concrete with both imprinted and exposed aggregate concrete for a large patio and a walk way for our home and have been delighted with both the process and the results. Having worked with a various number of other contractors, I know when I'm working with someone who knows their business and Pemadale Construction LTD takes great pride in the quality of the work they're doing. From the beginning I was pretty sure that I wanted to use Pemadale Construction based on a friends recommendation, I also wanted to get bids from other renovation contractors for our remodel just to be thorough. When compared with the other bids, I was very impressed with Peter's pricing and the level of detail outlined in his bid. Both our basement, and garage and patio look amazing, and both the concrete walkway and driveway are so much more delightful to look at than they were before. We were absolutely pleased (and surprised based on experience with other contractors) that the remodel stayed on schedule and within our budget. Renovations of any measure can be a headache, but having Peter at Pemadale Construction as our contractor really helped alleviate the majority of our concerns and I WILL DEFINITELY be calling him for any future renovation needs we may have.

Courteous polite and he set out a plan and communicated with me and my husband throughout the renovation. The construction was done on a timely manner and within the budget developed originally. The end product was exactly what I wanted. I will not hasitate to hired Pemedale for any future renovations and recommend them highly to anyone looking for quality construction work.

Would not recommend. We had requested and they had agreed to have a fence put up that looked like our neighbors. It was not a match, neither in finish nor in quality. In terms of finish, our neighbor's fence has sloped tops. During construction, I had asked about this in which they replied that they preferred the aesthetics of the tops squared. When asked further, they said that they could do it but it would end up looking uneven. Despite our original agreement, I had conceded the point because I had interpreted that as them saying that it wouldn’t be done well and it was a task outside their ability. This was not communicated initially. Furthermore, our neighbor's fence is finished with a white stain/paint. When we asked about it, they had only said it was not recommended immediately because the wood needed to dry first. However, nothing had prevented them from saying that in the beginning, or that it was not included in the price or from coming back to complete the work. Despite them agreeing to have put up a fence that would look like my neighbor’s. Their argument was that they had interpreted that “look like” was in regards to structure only. However, if that were the case, then why are the tops of my posts not sloped? In terms of quality, they agreed to use materials that were "new and of good quality" and that they would "remedy any defects resulting, from faulty materials or workmanship, which shall become evident during a period of one year after completion of the work." Less than a year after installation, the fence had shown significant cracks and twists, which they, and other contractors/home inspectors had all agreed. The majority of posts had cracks with some wide enough to put my fingers in. The twisting had also happened in the majority of posts with some approximately twisted 30 degrees from the base. However, Pemadale was adamant that it is the natural course of wood and would not make any reparations. Aside from being consulted on the multitude of things that could have been done different in construction to prevent this, I was surprised that they thought good quality materials (and not defective/faulty) would include wood that significantly cracked and twisted in their own warranty period. They further argued that the wood they used was graded no. 2 SPF wood and therefore of good quality. Receipts were not provided when requested. Nevertheless, bottom line, our fence looks worse for wear and is not what we had wanted or expected.

We have a walkout bungalow with a deck off the first floor over a patio off the basement. I contracted Pemedale Construction to partially enclose the patio and to create a stair access from the deck to the patio. This entailed building lattice walls on each end of the patio and two sets of stairs - one from the deck to the sloping ground leading to the patio and one in the ground to the patio. Peter, from Pemedale, was excellent. Courteous and polite, he listened to what I wanted. He produced a plan for the project, engaged in productive interaction on adjustments to the original concept and accepted feedback during the entire project. The actual construction was excellent with high regard for "doing it right" not just doing it. Timely and within the budget developed originally. The end product was exactly what I was looking for. I will not hasitate to engage Pemedale for any future renovations and recommend them highly to anyone looking for quality construction work.
