We have longstanding relationships with our subcontractors that span many years and many projects. In this instance we engaged with a longtime subcontractor in the manufacture of custom cabinets for this project. Unfortunately the subcontractor was unable to meet the necessary qualitative and aesthetic requirements for the completion of the project. This occurred very late in the delivery of the project. As a result the subcontractor was dismissed and r3construction undertook a rigorous interview process for a replacement subcontractor who could complete the work. Ultimately the client selected a subcontractor from the analysis we provided. Cabinets were removed at our expense to prepare for new cabinetry supplied by the newly selected subcontractor.
The client agreed to pay this subcontractor directly and this expense was offset by the withdrawal of progress payments to fully offset the expense. The client did not pay double for cabinets.
We steadfastly stand behind our work and when there is an issue we accept responsibility for rectifying the situation. We expected an exceptional product from our subcontractor and when we did not receive it we worked diligently to remedy the situation.
