We had a nightmare experience w/Risinger. Didn’t honor his warranty and we had to remediate a lot of serious issues on our own. Felt completely abandoned. I suggest to anyone to check references that are actual homeowners vs depending on architects for referrals. I see many of Risinger posts and many are NOT from existing/current homeowners.

Risinger Homes / Matt is a pinnacle/ Master Builder. He is plagued by the need to get better and better through materials and quality craftsmanship. Matt leads the industry from a build side of Building Science with his YouTube channel "The Build Show" where he shows real world application of the details for other builders. Think of him as the Yoda of the residential building Market. Should you be lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with them, go for it!

Risinger Homes did a massive remodel of our home. We gutted the house, rebuilt everything -- floor to roof -- and doubled the size of the house. The result is simply amazing! Magazine quality. Risinger pays attention to the details, knows the latest and greatest technologies, cares about quality, brings in talented contractors and artisans, and produces a beautiful finish. Afterwards, when we had a small issue, Risinger responded immediately and fixed it. (NOTE: We had a similar issue with brand new house in Houston, and that builder wouldn't even call us back. Integrity is rare). I can't tell you how much I appreciate the Risinger crew. They are lovely to work with, do a fantastic and high quality job, honor their commitments, and build a gorgeous home. Their business is booming and they deserve it! I highly recommend them for a custom home build.

As first time home builders, my wife and I are so very fortunate to have found Matt and his team at Risinger Homes to build our dream home in Austin. Unlike many custom home builders, Matt builds houses of all different sizes, large and small, but the constant in all of them is quality construction, craftsmanship and cutting edge building science technology, all of which I valued greatly as an engineer myself. Also, unlike many builders, Matt is very comfortable working with architects, and being able to use our own architect (in this case, our son) was very important to us. Building a house with a limited budget requires many tradeoffs and design decisions, and Matt and his team were very good and patient with us in presenting the various alternatives and then helping us to decide what would be best. We chose a ‘cost plus’ contract structure which Matt recommended, and I was very happy that we did so. This made the whole building process completely transparent with all the actual costs and schedules shared with us and with everyone working together to come up with the very best solutions to meet our expectations and budget. Over the 18 months or so from our first meeting until the day we moved in our new home, we developed complete confidence and trust in Matt and his team with the certainty that they always had our best interests in mind at all times. We especially appreciated Matt’s easy going nature, straight forward, honest and responsive communications skills, and calm and deliberative approach to handling any issues. If we had another house to build, I would choose Matt again in a heartbeat, and I would very highly recommend him to anyone wishing to build a high quality custom home in the Austin area. We are just so happy with our new home and very appreciative of Matt’s help in making our dream come true.

Matt and his team—from Ben to Sam to Carlos to Jorge—are true professionals and exemplify utmost competence and integrity. They built a 3,000 sq ft massarunduba deck around our pool and over a steep incline. They did a masterful job, using detail I would expect in cabinetry (certainly not a deck). I could not be happier with the finished product and their follow-up over a year later. More importantly, Matt and his crew made the project FUN! In fact, we enjoyed the project and the team so much we threw a pool party for them and their families upon completion (which was a blast!). I can’t wait to start another project with Risinger! 5 stars simply doesn’t seem like enough.
