I had an amazing experience building my dream house with the Sample Properties. I can say this process was truly stress-free. From the planning to the execution, it was wonderful. Whenever I would drive by, which was quite frequently, there were always sub-contractors working on the house. Other houses that were being built in my neighborhood at the same time would sometimes go days or weeks without someone there. If I ever build a house again I will use Sample.

We had a positive experience working with Sample Properties. Sample properties not only built our home but were very helpful in the planning and designing process. They were always available to answer our calls and questions and were extremely professional and knowledgable. After completion of the project they continue to followup and answer our questions in a timely manor. We are extremely happy with the quality of workmanship and customer service that Sample Properties have provided and would highly recommend them.

MASSIVE ADDITION TRANSFORMS ORIGINAL HOUSE My husband and I purchased a Sample Properties built home in 1998. The house was only a year old and the original owners spoke highly of John and Gray Sample. We were new in town and looked to John and Gray for small job referrals over the years. In 2008, we had our kitchen extensively renovated; it was the first time we put any serious money into the house and we only trusted Sample to do the job, We did not bid the job. Sample did a beautiful renovation and the entire process was done timely, professionally and with ample guidance to help us with design. To this day, the kitchen is fab! In 2015, we decided to add 2200 sq.ft to the house with a massive addition. The house was originally 3800, now it is a gorgeous big house! Again, we did not bid this job out. We wanted Sample Properties to do this very important job. So many things could go wrong that we had only our faith in Sample. They took us through the design and architectural process with no pressure. Once we decided on the whole project. Work was done in a manner that would allow us, five people, to live in the original house throughout the entire construction. Having a family on site is not easy for contractors but John and Gray and their awesome crew were kind, considerate and professional. The budget was maintained and fair and the work was done with great quality and care. Toward the end of the merging of the new addition and the original house, we decided to tear out the original small front porch and add a 350 square foot porch. Again, Sample stepped up and worked out the architectural design and structural problems. The original time line grew out by five months or more but it was all worth it. The house is lovely, functional and blends well together. We highly recommend Sample Properties.

My experience with Sample Properties was exceptional. On the sale and building process side, the professionalism and customer service was fantastic -- they were clear, honest, responsive and clearly dedicated to our needs and satisfaction. And the final product was also top notch. We have been living in our Sample home for over 3 years now and are thrilled with the style, quality and liveability of our home. If we ever build a home in Tampa again, we will build with Sample. In addition, I have recommended Sample to many friends and relatives.

Every employee of Sample with whom we worked was a dedicated and personable professional. Working with John Sample on the design of our dream home was rewarding and enjoyable. Due to Sample's excellent reputation with the City of Tampa's building department, permitting and approvals were expeditious. The construction process was organized and efficient.. Quality, attention to detail and customer satisfaction were the overriding standards of Sample's performance. Dale, our construction superintendent was dedicated and diligent, making sure everything was perfect and we were completely satisfied. Gray Sample, construction manager, oversaw the entire building process and put in a great deal of time and effort making sure our house was built correctly and we were happy. The honesty and integrity of the entire organization was very evident from our first meeting to this very day. We always felt that their goal was to build the house that we envisioned and they succeeded. Dale our project manager, for the home on Bayshore Blvd was organized and always readily available. We had the pleasure of installing 10 power roll down screens for Sample Properties on this project. Working with Sample Properties was an absolutely wonderful and pleasant experience. After my wife and I interviewed multiple homebuilders in the Tampa Bay area we chose to work with Sample based on the impression they made on us as individuals (honest people with high integrity and character) and the quality of their work. While the quality of Sample's work was easy to see, it was our impression of them as people and their reputation that put us over the top. After all, you engage a builder in a long-term relationship when they begin building your home. We heard from multiple individuals how Sample stands by their product, and this has been our experience so far. We had the pleasure of working closely with John Sample and Peter Kramer (project manager), and "pleasure" truly sums it up. I describe Peter as being the best business experience I have every had. Although, the dynamic with Peter feels more like a friendship, rather than a business relationship. Through Peter's patience and willingness to over-provide information, Peter made the process both educational and fun. And the same can be said about John. Also, the sub-contractors that worked on our home were also some of the most pleasant people around. I often engaged them in conversation and spent time learning about them on a personal level. Sample Properties clearly contracts out work to people that reflect their character. John and Gray (Sample brothers) have created a culture within their company that shows in every dynamic of the project. Ultimately, while I could take up much more space here, I will just say that Sample Properties could not have provided a better experience for myself and my wife. While I am sure that other builders have their specific areas of expertise that deserve a consideration, what is more important than the quality of people you work with, and the quality of the project when building a home? I would challenge anyone to find a homebuilder superior to Sample in both of those categories.

We had lived in a variety of cities and built multiple custom homes, and when moving to Tampa built our first home in South Tampa with Sample Properties. We loved it so much that we built a second one about 10 years later as we needed to expand. The integrity, professionalism and expertise of the whole team gave us confidence throughout the entire build process. We had a variety of very custom details that we wanted to incorporate in our home, and they did the absolute best job of helping us achieve our vision. We stayed in Beach Park as we had come to love the neighborhood, and they were thorough during both of our builds. Both homes held their quality and value tremendously, so our resale was top notch.
