Sightline Construction

I found Sightline Construction through a search on Houzz for a local, reputable contractor. After speaking with at least 3 separate contractors I found Billy Rickard of Sightline to be the most knowledgeable, professional, and personable. I explained that I had two bathrooms that needed to be completely rennovated. The main bathroom required knocking out and reframing an exterior wall, building & re-leveling the concrete foundation, and moving and installing windows. The entire space was "gutted" and Billy, along with his team of pro technicians, worked with me throughout the process to implement the vision I had for the room. Someone was always available to answer my questions and/or brainstorm ideas for sourcing materials and making technical and design recommendations. While rennovating the main bathroom Sightline also installed the same porcelain tile flooring throughout the main bedroom, hall, and walk-in closet and suggested radiant heat (maps) which has been a wonderful addition! The overall craftsmanship of the team was impressive. Both in the main & hall bathrooms, the floor and shower/bath tiling were impeccably placed. The carpentry including wainscoting, cabinetry, and shelving were near perfect. Every step of the way, Billy and his team strived to stay on target with their time and cost. As with any construction project there are always unforeseen "mishaps" like delayed materials, a miscommunication of design, etc. There were some of those along the way but - as stressful as it can be - Billy made every effort to limit them and/or remedy the situation as soon as possible. The overall cost I believe was reasonable. Billy made sure I knew of any cost-effective measures I could take but he also understood that I was looking for quality above all. I have been enjoying the new space/s for a couple of years now. When/if I plan any new rennovations to additional rooms I would not hesitate to call Sightline again.

I have dealt with one other contractor & with no hesitation, Billy & his team come HIGHLY recommended by us, & I do not think I would go with anyone else at this point. Billy helped us build 2 ADUs on our property + master bedroom extension. They say first impressions last, Billy showed up to our first meeting (no guarantee of a contract) with our engineer's plans printed out & ready to do a walkthrough on our ideas for the property. The eventual road blocks we hit, Billy always found an economical way of navigating through them & tried to save us as much money as possible, however construction is pricey here in Santa Cruz, so that is a tough thing to do. The biggest thing for us was communication, transparency & honesty. Billy filled all those things for us. You get what you pay for, & I think we found just the right amount of balance of price & quality with Sightline Construction. Thank you Billy for making our property even better than what we imagine it to be!

Billy and his crew completed an upstairs remodel on time in in budget. The work was professionally done and the crew was great to work with. He suggested a modification to the original plans that did away with an internal support post, and worked with the structural engineer and county planners to make it happen. He also completed to balcony work and coordinated the exterior paint. Everything looks great now and we are very happy with our new living area.

My wife and I had Sightline Construction remodel our house and we are really happy we chose to work with them. Everything came out exactly as we planned and the process went just as expected. The renovation went smoothly and the team was polite, clean and arrived on time every day. They left the house clean at the end of each day which was important since we were home during the construction process. Billy was sure to let us know the schedule for each week and the communication was very clear. Thank you Sightline Construction for an amazing job. We highly recommended them for their services.

I highly recommend Sightline Construction and Billy Rickard. We have been slowly renovating our home for the past decade, and we have done five major projects to get our house fully remodeled. We have worked with 4 different contractors, and out of all of the contractors we worked with Sightline Construction was by far the best. Billy took care of everything for us from start to finish. He has an eye for detail and is a skilled contractor. He also helped connect us with an affordable designer who handled all of the drawings and permits. Sightline Construction gave a reasonable bid, the job was completed on time, and the final product was gorgeous! We will forever be grateful for the beautiful job that Sightline Construction did at our home!

Sightline is an outstanding company. We're extremely satisfied with how our kitchen remodel turned out. Whether it was the detailed line-by-line quote he started with or his help creating a cost-conscious design that fit our family's needs, we loved Billy's collaborative, transparent, and proactive approach. The remodel could have been a disaster. When they gutted the kitchen they discovered complications that required us to revise the scope of our project. Thanks to Billy's calm guidance and expertise we never felt like we were in over our heads. His prompt, clear communication when deadlines changed or adjustments needed to be made to their plans far exceeded our expectations. From the beginning it was obvious that he and his crew were deeply invested in making the project a success. They were reliable and trustworthy. We just finished an extensive "remodel" (read new home) with Billy & team. From beginning to end Billy was great to work with.
