Every job presents its challenges and this job presented challenges of tripling the original scope after construction began, waiting on updated plans from the design team, adjustments to those plans, losing valuable time while paying a project manager, and waiting on answers from other parties involved such as the plumbing and appliance companies. Granted, many of these are things that contractors typically deal with. However, in your situation, I am learning now you chose not to accept the explanations we provided (and documented) along the way and are reiterated below. We do everything within our power to try and make our clients happy and we have the testimonials and referrals to prove it. Again, we are sorry that you had a poor experience, however, we must address just a few of your published complaints that are misleading or incorrect.
1. We installed the kitchen countertop that was spec'd by the designers originally, this was previously approved by the design team and the homeowners - we have all of this in writing. We even went as far as to replace the kitchen countertops free of cost without delaying the timeline.
2. The laundry sink that was purchased was spec'd to be installed over mount- again we fixed this without charging you
3. Regarding the master bathroom faucet holes, yes,our installers made this mistake. The error was discovered quickly and corrected.
4. Per the open door complaint. One, I never speak to family, friends or clients in that manner and two, I dealt with your (often) screaming phone calls monthly on Sundays through the project and addressed every single one of your concerns. I remember exactly where I was for one of these conversations as I was with my daughter at a restaurant and had to step away as I was shaking by the end of it because I was so rattled at how I was treated. If the door was not latched on the bottom during heavy winds it would blow open, just locking the door did not prevent it from opening during these storms. We never left the garage door open, we left the door to the garage open with the garage door shut. The subs did not leave at the end of the day with the front door open, the intense window and storms from April and May of 2021 would open the door throughout the weekend.
5. We addressed the exterior wall even though there were landscapers and pool contractors on site doing heavy work throughout the entire project who were not hired by us but working in that area.
6. A porta potty and designated trash area were on site and used throughout the entirety of the project. While we do not feel it’s appropriate to utilize a newly installed toilet, we tried to mitigate this to the best of our ability with blue taping the toilets.
7. The back patio is a completely covered area and a safe space for extra tile to be stored, and we moved the extra tile into the garage when you asked us to do this. This was after all interior tiling on the interior of the home had been completed. You also had a separate garage contractor working in the garage so we were unable to store anything in the garage during a period of time otherwise this would have been a natural choice.
There are solutions to every issue and we addressed every single item you listed above prior to you moving into the house, these issues were addressed in real time. Again, we have documentation to prove this fact. With a project of this size and scope, mistakes will happen, so we do our best to correct them as soon as possible. That is exactly what we did with your project.
