We have worked with the team at Stone Acorn for over a decade, first on the construction of our main home in 2011 and more recently on a pool house project in 2022. Having gone through two significant builds with them, I can confidently speak to their consistency, quality, and integrity. Craftsmanship and Design Our main residence was built in a Craftsman style. We were drawn to their previous work and found the selection process to be incredibly smooth because their aesthetic aligned so well with what we wanted. For our pool house, we took a different direction, bringing them a modern concept we found in Dwell magazine. They executed the vision perfectly, delivering a high-quality structure that complemented our property while showcasing their versatility. Professionalism and Transparency Building a custom home is a complex financial undertaking, and Stone Acorn excels at the "business" side of construction. They are exceptionally organized and thorough. One of the standout features of working with them is their draw process; everything is clearly explained, and we always felt we were paying for completed work rather than "promised" future progress. That level of transparency is rare in this industry and provided us with significant peace of mind. Long-Term Reliability Perhaps the best testament to their work is that our 2011 home is still in excellent shape 15 years later. I moved to Austin this past year and purchased a new construction Stone Acorn Home in Northwest Hills. Can't say enough about the attention to design, construction and high quality materials used in the home. I continued to discover new attributes of home over the next several months and was impressed with the attention to detail. For the few minor issues that arose post close, Benjamin and team were attentive and quick to solve the issues. I've built several homes and Stone Acorn Builders really stands out! I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a best in class builder.

We bought a home from them in Bellaire after considering several homes in Bellaire and West U. We've bought several homes in our day, but this is the first time that both of us separately were 100% certain which of the houses we saw was our favorite. So far the nicest home we've ever owned. Loaded with features that we could never have thought of ourselves. We absolute love the walk-in pantry, which keeps the public kitchen looking so clean and spacious. We love the details like the sliding farm doors and the beautiful assortment of light fixtures. The back deck is so brilliantly designed and arranged that we can sit outside in the shade comfortably almost any day of the year, with a comfortable cross breeze blowing and shade from the tree behind our back fence. I also should mention a tireless effort to fix anything that has gone wrong even things that couldn't possibly be regarded as their fault. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Sarah and Benjamin were a dream team to work with! What is typically a stressful experience of custom building a home, was truly pleasant and rewarding!

I highly recommend Stone Acorn. We interviewed many builders before we met Sarah and Benjamin and right from day 1 they impressed us with their professionalism and thoroughness. Building your home can be a daunting thought but Benjamin and Sarah made it was so easy for us. There were no surprises. The whole process, from start to finish went smoothly. I found it very helpful to have Sarah come to all the meetings for internal selections. They know the entire process and are very well known and respected in the industry. We recently built a home with Stone Acorn and we have only positive comments about the team and their work. They are extremely conscientious and professional. Their attention to detail is incredible - no stone goes unturned. They also keep their eye on the budget - we ended up with a house that we love that didn't blow the budget. We love the house that Stone Acorn built for us. Our old house flooded on Memorial Day 2015 and we decided to demolish it and build a new one on our lot. Stone Acorn came highly recommended for their quality of design and workmanship and they did not disappoint us. We were very pleased with the design process – Stone Acorn has an in-house architect, Jennifer, who is absolutely top notch. We all worked together to design a home that incorporated the functional aspects we desired, the mid-century modern style we were looking for and one that we all could take pride in. The builders, Benjamin and Sarah, were with us every step of the way, making sure that our wishes and our budget were on the same page and advising us against pitfalls that could compromise resale. Construction was also very interactive – we were able to watch the house grow according to plan and the builders guided us through the selection of lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, flooring, paint, etc. We felt that we were part of the construction process throughout and we are very pleased with the outcome. We moved into our beautiful new house in the end of April 2017 and we barely had time to settle in before Hurricane Harvey hit Houston in the end of August. Our entire neighborhood got flooded but our house remained safe and dry. We were fortunate to be able to host some of our neighbors in our house until the flood water receded and everyone commented on how beautiful and functional it was. We were especially heartened when Benjamin came to inspect our house after the flood. He was rightfully proud to see that the house they built for us after the Memorial Day flood withstood the worst hurricane in Houston history without any damage.

Our staging company, Merci Design & Home Staging worked with Benjamin and Sarah on their Turnberry home. They build a quality, well designed beautiful product. We hope they'll call us again soon as we loved working with them.

Stone Acorn is an extremely professional, high quality builder. We hired them to build our house, finishing up in October of 2014. Benjamin and Sarah could not have been better business partners to work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking to build a new home in the Houston area.

We first toured a Stone Acorn home during the Bellaire Home Showcase tour in 2005 and were immediately impressed with the design, workmanship, and warmth of the home. By chance and as a result of seeing the home in 2005, we were able to purchase one of their custom-built homes in late 2007 from Benjamin that he and his family lived in. When we first saw the home, we knew that it was perfect for us. Although it was not a new home, Benjamin was very helpful in providing assistance with any home maintenance. Unfortunately we relocated for work to Virginia in 2009 and were only able to enjoy the home for less than two years. Benjamin provided invaluable assistance that enabled us to list and sell the house in a short period of time. However we knew that whenever we moved back to Houston, we would consider Stone Acorn again. In late 2012, we learned that we would be relocating back to Houston the following year. After briefly searching the local housing inventory online, we decided to seriously consider building a custom home with Benjamin and Sarah. After meeting with them to discuss their building philosophy, potential lots in the area, building designs and costs, we were all set. We worked on the design remotely with Benjamin, Sarah and their in-house architect, Jen, through a series of FaceTime, conference calls and in-person meetings. We used Houzz's idea books extensively throughout the process. They were all great to work with and flexible as we designed our dream home. After the design phase was complete, we received a detailed budget for the build -- which in the end was nearly spot-on. Benjamin and Sarah's professionalism and experience were apparent as we worked through the building selection process and start of construction. They accommodated our busy work schedules throughout the construction phase and provided timely progress updates. They effectively managed all of the subcontractors and suppliers and paid particular attention to details and the quality of workmanship. When we experienced a hiccup with a contractor or supplier, they were diligent in working to resolve the matter. We had a pool constructed at the same time, and they worked seamlessly with the pool contractor to coordinate the pool construction. All in all, the final product exceeded our expectations. All of our family and friends have raved about how well designed and beautiful the house is. In the months after the house was completed, Benjamin and Sarah have maintained the same level of professionalism as they've worked in a timely manner to address any service requests -- which speaks volumes about their commitment to their clients even after the home construction is finished. We certainly have no desire to relocate again. But if we did, we know who we'd call first.
