Hiring a contractor was an entirely new experience for me. My late husband was my electrician, plumber and carpenter all rolled into one. Now my home is 50+ years old and is in need of repairs. God was with me when I found Steve and his crew. EVERYONE was extremely competent in their individual talents, pleasant to speak with and they explained everything that they were going to do before they began. Steve guided us through many (many) design and construction decisions throughout the many months we worked with him on what ended up being a complete reconstruction/remodel of a mid-70s modern house. He brought consistent professionalism, thoughtfulness, care, deep experience and good humor to the project, which was an endless series of "are you kidding me" kinds of surprises as his crew uncovered and tackled large and small disasters behind the siding on the outside and sheetrock on the inside. His often-repeated phrase was: We'll make it right.

It was wonderful working with Steve. He always let me know what was going on. His workers were hard working and did a great job. They were very neat and everything was picked up at end of day. I love the way my house came out!

After finding Steve’s name online, I contacted him regarding home renovations (bath and kitchen) and an addition to the home. To begin with, he was very professional, thorough and knowledgeable. He offered us a variety of options in our price range for what we wanted to do as well as recommendations regarding where to go for design elements. Steve stuck to the estimate and there were no add-ons or surprises. He was very honest and up front, and he kept in contact with me every step of the way, never making a unilateral decision. The work was completed in a reasonable amount of time and wasn’t hastily or sloppily done. He was also able to fix an existing problem left behind by a subpar company. In regard to cleanliness, he kept the work area clean and his men straightened up at the end of every day. Everyone was cognizant about Covid and took proper measures. It is clear that Steve has high standards, and he routinely checked over the work that was done by his men and any subcontractors. He was NOT the type of person who checked in at the beginning and then disappeared until the final check was due. I would highly recommend him-not only for the excellence of his work, but also for his honestly and friendliness.

Yesterday the crew came in to install a new roof on our home. They did a great job. The roof looks great and by the time they left you would have never known they were here. They cleaned up the work site and left everything spotless. I would recommend their work anytime.

I found Steve Sumple on Houzz and was impressed by his glowing recommendations. We had decided to rebuild our decrepit garage. We called him; he came over; discussed what we wanted; got us an itemized price within a day or two; and was able to start work a couple of weeks later. Work moved along quickly and smoothly, with Steve turning up frequently to oversee the work and next steps. His subs were terrific. The job was soon finished, to the last detail, and came in right on his price! We couldn’t be happier.

We hired Steve to convert our second floor attic space into a kids playroom. We couldn't be happier with the results and with his work ethic. He was on-site weekly, if not daily, and would constantly share any updates or issues along the way. He finished the project in about 6 weeks, just like he initially projected. We appreciated the up front quote process and he even helped us lower the cost of the project by proposing alternatives. At the end of the job he provided receipts for everything. We've been burned by contractors in the past but Steve was the complete opposite - honest, communicative, and great with the paperwork. And, we LOVE the outcome. My asphalt shingle roof was badly damaged by two wind storms. SWS Remodeling was quick to respond to survey the damage and provided the most competitive quote. Steve was a good communicator during the process which was handled very professionally and efficiently despite adverse weather conditions. His crews were also tidy in leaving the site clean. In addition, they were quick to make repairs to damaged areas that became apparent during the re-roofing process. His estimate was clearly written and detailed. His invoices were clear, detailed, and fair. I plan on using SWS Remodeling again this spring for some other minor home upkeep projects. I highly recommend this SWS Remodeling & Construction.

SWS Remodeling replaced our front porch during the late fall/early winter of 2018, which after years of wear and tear and then damage from a storm in May of 2018 left it in desperate need of repair. The end product turned out much better than we dreamed. Not only was the work completed in a timely manner, but the craftsmanship is evident in the details. Steve and his crew were pleasant to work with, and patiently dealt with any issues that came up.

We had Steve do a high-end master bath renovation and couldn’t be more pleased. From start to finish he was reliable and professional. Excellent! I wish we hired Steve to do our original inspection prior to purchasing our house! We purchased a house built during the dot com boom. While the house was modern with a terrific look we slowly started to discover some areas where short cuts with the building existed. Steve and SWS has been helping us ever since. What I like about Steve is he provides honest advice. He tells you how something should be done to last, but also shows you areas to save money on a project. SWS has done both major projects (roof) and minor projects (gutters, bathroom work and electrical improvements). Examples, steve advised us to convert our gutter system to dry wells to improve conditions and life of our new pavor patio. It made a great improvement. He also advised us against certain over done shower designs that could prove problematic and corrected other contractors who were trying to sell me new heating systems that were unnecessary. He is not going to sell you work you don't need, but will advise you about critical areas that need to be done correct and money is well spent or well enjoyed. We know the job is going to be done like it was his own house. Wouldn't hire anybody else for a home project. When HVAC folks have come to service my systems and try to upsell me, I call Steve to run it by him! Trust is everything when you are evaluating home projects.
