I was referred to Dan Bird of The Dan Co. in October of 2014. I was about to close on an older home that needed a lot of work, and we were going to have less than 2 weeks to get everything completed before I moved in. Projects included new paint and crown molding throughout the home, removing linoleum from the floor in the kitchen and replacing it with wood flooring that matched the original hardwood floors, refinishing hardwood floors throughout the home, adding new doors to bedrooms, closets and the front entrance, custom cabinet doors in the kitchen, custom addition to the mantle, and custom closet shelving. For those 10 days, Dan Bird made me his top priority. He showed up every morning at the work site, and was there at the end of each day to walk me through his crew’s progress. I was very impressed with Dan’s professionalism and his focus on the quality and detail of his team’s work. Due to my work schedule, I needed The Dan Co. to complete all of the projects in 9 days in order for me to move in on the 10th day after closing. However, on the last day of the project, the stain on the refinished hardwood floors didn’t dry in time, and it added an extra day to The Dan Co.’s timeline to complete the project. Being a day off schedule meant I wouldn’t be available to meet the movers on the scheduled move day due to a commitment I had at work. And this is where Dan Bird stepped up and did something that I’m not sure anyone else would have done. Dan took personal responsibility for being a day late on completing the project, and offered to have one of his team member’s meet my moving crew at the house and manage my entire move! I agreed to it, and the move happened without any problems. I challenge anyone to find another GC who would have as much integrity and rectify the problem the way that Dan Bird of The Dan Company did. In summary, Dan’s commitment to customer service, the quality of his work and setting realistic expectations about the project’s timeline is top notch. My only surprise was when I received the final bill. However, that was primarily on me as I changed the scope of the work half way through the project and added more items to the original job description. In hindsight, I should have taken more time to fully understand from Dan what type of cost those changes would incur. But I would definitely use Dan again in the future for big or small projects, and I would recommend The Dan Company to anyone who wants their job done right.

The Dan Company built and installed shelves in my laundry room above and around my washer and dryer. They also moved my mail box, installed my curtain rods, installed shower curtain rod into tile, hung a very large picture and my 60" tv. They were on time, professional, courteous, and knowledgable.
