The Heinz Group

The Heinz Group built our house for us last year and we highly recommend them to everyone we know who is considering building a home. They gave us a timeline upfront and kept it updated throughout the project so we knew what was coming next. Even when we slowed things down trying to make decisions, they helped push us along without making it stressful. Because of them, we finished slightly ahead of schedule. Roger is a problem solver and a huge part of why things went smoothly. He was very hands-on and on-site a lot, which made a difference. If something came up, he didn’t ignore it or pass the blame around—he just figured it out and got it handled. He’s also got a really good eye for design and cares about how the finished product will look and feel when you are living in it. One example that stuck with me was in the kitchen—he noticed the can lighting wasn’t lining up quite right with the range hood and the rest of the space. It wasn’t something I would have caught right away, but once he pointed it out, I couldn’t unsee it. He made sure it got corrected, and that everything lined up the way it should. They were organized, stayed on budget, and kept things moving. Most importantly, they’re really good people to work with, which matters so much during a build. I cannot recommend them enough.

We hired the Heinz Group to do major repairs on the home we had built just a few years before. The original contractor charged for the best and used the cheapest in every area. Roger Heinz came in and immediately started making our home what we had hoped it would be. He and his excellent subcontractors rebuilt both upstairs balconies, which had been rotting. He repaired the columns, the roofline, installed gutters that worked beautifully while being very unobtrusive, repaired the brickwork on all the porches, and rerouted the drainage system. Inside the house, his painters did the most beautiful job repairing cracks, repainting kitchen cabinets, and retouching the paint everywhere there was even the slightest discoloration. His door specialist repaired all the door so that they open and close smoothly, instead of sticking. They repainted the entire exterior beautifully; it glows like a palace in the sunlight. Most importantly, all the workmen were on time very meticulous, very tidy, and the nicest group of people you could hope for. I have own a lot of houses, and have gone through many contractors, and none were even close to the quality of the Heinz Group. They are currently repairing a major leak in my master bath, and I am confident that it will look and be better than when it was built. I will never hire any other contractor.

We worked with the Heinz Group on a recent renovation/addition of a bedroom and bathroom to our home. We were pretty confident in Roger and Susan prior to the project because they had fully renovated our home with the previous owners and having lived in the home for two years, we could attest to the the quality, durability, and craftsmanship that was put into the initial renovation. As expected, our project with the Heinz group was completed seamlessly and we are very happy with the results. Here are some of the things I appreciated about working with THG: 1. Timeline: we were given an in depth timeline and calendar for every aspect of this project. This timeline was actually followed. 2. Proposal vs. actual costs: The actual cost of the project matched the proposal with the exception of areas we knew we wanted to spend more. I appreciated how Roger and Susan worked with us to save costs in some areas so we could splurge in others and stay within the total costs we had agreed upon. 3. Responsiveness: If we had a question or a a request related to the project while it was underway Roger and/or Susan were always quick to respond, and execute accordingly.

"I have a guy." When I wanted a new glass door, a new front door, a new patio ceiling, a new alarm system, Roger Heinz said, "I have a guy" and got it done. His firm works only in one town, and he lives nearby. So do the friendly and organized people on his team. That means he's *there.* Sometimes he'd show up three times a day. Once I stopped in and overheard him instructing subcontractors, "What's this here? Fix that" in several places — and so they did. He rebuilt parts of my house, added important enhancements and cosmetic ones, and advised me when it was better to save money and leave elements as they were. I discovered a new problem nine months later — my new oven died in the middle of cooking a big holiday dinner. One text and an expert showed up the next day, uncovered the cause (electric; nothing anyone did wrong) and fixed it – and the Heinz group was no longer on the clock. They just stand behind their work. What's more, the woman who handled my account (always available, organized and friendly) literally offered to let me use her oven to pull off my holiday dinner. I said no, but that's what a pleasure they are to work with.

Roger and team are dependable and honest. I appreciated working with this team especially after some bad experiences with other contractors. I was kept up to date and openly communicated to. We really feel that the Heinz Group delivered us a quality build. Beyond all this, they are just good people to deal with. I highly recommend the Heinz Group. We would use them again without question.

Roger is a superb builder. He is meticulous and will do most anything to make you happy and satisfied with his work. I highly recommend him.

The Heinz Group was exceptional during every step of my renovation. They were upfront, honest, and caring. I have never used or heard of a contractor who followed through so much and made sure the work was done right. I highly recommend The Heinz Group!
