I cannot recommend Patricio and The Home Improvement Services enough. The Home Improvement Services gutted both of our bathrooms, our basement entrance and our laundry room. This included new tile floor with levelling, drywalling over our cinderblock walls, repairing water damage, framing in our mechanical room (with thoughtful access doors!), installing heated floors, and putting up the most gorgeous tile. The work is of the highest quality and Patricio and his crew have a keen eye for details. We now have beautiful designer bathrooms and a laundry room, where before they were... plain ugly. Patricio and his crew were 100% respectful of the rest of our house and kept things neat, tidy and cleaned up throughout the project. We plan to use The Home Improvement Services to gut our kitchen next year as we fully trust in Patricio's design eye and high standards.

Working with Patricio and his team was an absolutely tremendous experience. His professionalism and commitment were outstanding throughout the entire project. The original idea was to remove 2 structural walls and create a new kitchen that extended into the dining room. As the project moved along we added to the original plan. At each stage Patricio was open to the changes and always came prepared with solutions and updates on the budget as the scope widened. It was clear that he sets high standards for himself, his wonderful crew and all of the trades he brings in. Each and everyone person we encountered during the two month renovation was professional and committed to delivering the best quality work. I highly recommend Patricio and team.

Patricio and team did a great job on our bathroom. High quality work! He was very responsive to all of our questions and is extremely approachable and pleasant. He was punctual for all of our meetings and gave his opinion throughout the job to make sure we had the best result. Would definitely recommend him and wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again!

Hands-down, one of the best contractors we've ever worked with! Patricio and team recently renovated our kitchen, installed new hardwood flooring on the main level, and replaced an existing door with a window on the side of the house. We couldn't be happier with the results. I particularly loved his attention to detail, and appreciation for design. Rather than go with the easiest solution, Patricio always made sure it looked great and functioned properly; even if it meant spending a bit more time on something that wasn't initially in scope. So, for example, Patricio pointed out that the existing hole for the vent hood was slightly off centre. Rather than just installing it this way, he spent the time to ensure that the vent would align with the cooktop. Another example was during the installation of the new flooring, Patricio made sure the tiling around the fireplace was flush and finished properly....and the list goes on. It's this kind of detail that makes a good renovation, a great renovation. My husband and I are super picky about little details and we really appreciated the teams level of craftsmanship and high standards. They also were super tidy and cleaned up thoroughly every day. Totally recommend Patricio & team. We'll definitely be calling him for our next renovation!

Overall Recommendation: As an architect, I highly recommend Patricio for any home projects. The values that make Patricio a great contractor are honest communication, high design standards, and a strong commitment to his professional integrity. Patricio is a contractor invested in leaving a good impression and takes on each project like it is his home. I hope to continue working with him when we work on other areas of our home. Design: Patricio works collaboratively to develop a home tailored to our specific needs. Before signing our contract, we had in-person discussions about our home’s functional requirements and desired style. Patricio’s design experience is an asset as he was able to grasp nuanced and detailed requirements to develop several design proposals after reviewing our mood boards and reference photos. (I.e., our kitchen island and kitchen counters were custom-built for our specific operational flow, and he was quick to identify clashes in door openings during discussions) Budget: Patricio worked within our budget and was upfront if our desired design was not achievable. Despite our conservative budget, he creatively provided solutions to achieve the overall finished look. Patricio guided our discussions and helped us strike a suitable balance and compromise (I.e., a great finished product in areas that were important to us and an adequate solution in areas that were not as important – Kitchen vs Storage closets) Project Management and Schedule: Patricio works with a team of sub-contractors who assist him with plumbing, electrical, tiling and custom-built fitments. Overall, Patricio was effective in coordinating his team and delivered 90% of our project on schedule, with minor delays that stemmed from his sub-contractors tasks. Communications: Throughout our project, Patricio responded in a timely manner. Most importantly, Patricio is incredibly honest in his communications and work ethics. He is upfront if the design expectation cannot be met, and will go out of his way to identify potential red flags that might affect the project budget or schedule. (When there were accidental damages to the existing fixtures, Patricio took the initiative to highlight the incidents and deliver replacements) Quality: I personally want to commend Patricio’s commitment to quality assurance. There were multiple instances during our project when Patricio refused to compromise on design quality as they did not meet his standards (ie adjusting crooked lines from tile laying due to the tiles being handcut tiles) Craftsmenship: We wanted a plastered wall and were extremely lucky that Patricio has the skills and talent to plaster walls. It is rare to find a contractor with this skillset and experience. Patricio personally does all plastering work and he works with Pure and Original for the Marrakech wall finish. He also rose to the challenge of working with handcut tiles.

We were so pleased with our kitchen and bathroom renovation by Patricio and his team! Everything was done on time, even when an unanticipated issue was uncovered in our bathroom floor (which we are relieved is now dealt with). Patricio and team were very professional. We really valued the design input along the way, and they kept us at ease throughout start to finish on the job. We would definitely use them again and we’d highly recommend them!

Patricio and his crew were incredibly efficient and did great work. Patricio helped problem solve when issues arose, was flexible with plans and had great design suggestions. The crew worked very hard, coming early in the morning and staying until late in the evening during the week and coming in as needed on weekends to keep things moving. The overall quality of our basement renovation is excellent and the project was completed on time — highly recommend.

We highly recommend Patricio and his team! We completed a full gut renovation of our 3 story detached home. The scope of work included: - full gut (including all flooring, all baseboards, all trim, all doors, 4 bathrooms, kitchen) - installation of new floors throughout (inc baseboards and trim), new doors, 4 new bathrooms, added fireplace, reconfigured the stairs, bulkhead updates, new external window and rear patio doors Patricio and his team remained on time and were extremely dedicated to helping us build our dream home. He was thoughtful took pride in the work. He helped us rework a job when we picked the wrong grout colour and took the initiative of moving our basement toilet a few inches to centre it in our bathroom space - which illustrated how much he cared about the project as well. With a few shipment and supplier delays he brought his team back after we moved in to help finish off a few pieces to complete the job. This is the second time we've used Patricio and team (the first was a basement renovation in 2017). We fully trust Patricio and won't hesitate to work with him and his team again!!

The Home Improvement Services recently renovated the main bathroom in our house. The job was highly professional with great attention to detail and knowledge of current design trends to update the space. They also came up with creative ideas to open up the bathroom while creating more storage which we really needed. Final touches of custom made wood shelving added a warmth and organic element to the modern design. I plan on continuing to use this company for all future projects and would highly recommend their services to anyone trying them out for the first time.

After living in our home for 20+ years it was finally time to renovate. This was going to be a large project; 1300 square feet consisting of living room, dining room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a laundry room. We interviewed a few contractors and immediately knew we would be in the best hands with The Home Improvement Services and Patricio. Our renovations took our home right down to the floors and studs. We renovated top to bottom, floors to ceilings, wall to wall, room to room and Patricio and his team were absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable, very attentive, very helpful, very patient, and extremely professional. His eye for detail and styling is impeccable. The quality of our renovation is truly impressive. Patricio is an expert and takes great pride in his work. We are extremely happy and satisfied with our new home. We relied on Patricio to give us styling ideas and he did not disappoint! His attention to detail comes with years of experience. We appreciated his prompt response time to any of our questions and he updated us daily on each part of the renovation job. As you can imagine a total renovation takes weeks and weeks and Patricio managed to complete the renos on schedule and as per the agreed contract. Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed. Patricio and his team are exceptional and we wholeheartedly recommend him for any of your renovation needs.

We have used The Home Improvement Services on more than one occasion but most recently to complete a main floor remodel (interior wall removal, new flooring etc.), creation of a laundry room and installing a new floor in the basement. At each step Patricio stepped us through the process, gave invaluable advice and where there were any issues (due to unforeseen problems) stepped us through the options ensuring what was delivered was best for us. We are very happy with the results and will be using them again

Patricio was an amazing contractor to work with. We did a full house renovation this past summer. one Kitchen, two bathrooms, Engineering Floor in the whole house, Interior Garage Floor and exterior interlocking, wood deck in the backyard plus many other details and spaces. Patricio and his crew were courteous, kept us informed about options and pricing, provided creative solutions to maintain us in budget and kept to the timeline for the job. From start to finish they listened to our concerns and were right in line with the look and design of the new spaces we wanted. The price was right and I feel we got a lot more than any other company would have done. This was no a small job with multiple unforeseeable issues that were resolved by Patricio to the last detail providing my family with peace of mind on all the options we choose. This is clearly a company that has integrity in their work and cares about their customers needs, something that is difficult to find these days . I will definitely use them for future renovations and recommend them to my friends.
