I have worked with Tom Cunniff over 15 years on several projects at our Victorian house in San Francisco. These include: two bathroom remodels, the seismic upgrade of a four-story exterior staircase, the installation of extensive shelving in a storeroom, and the remodel our third floor. Tom is a great resource. He comes up with creative and elegant solutions to any problem I have given him.. He solved a leak in an exterior wall that was longstanding and difficult to address. He is someone I can always trust to do an excellent job. I value Tom's opinion and craftsmanship, and always enjoy working with him.

The "Alameda Gourmet Kitchen" in the photos was our second kitchen remodel done by Thomas Cunniff Construction. The first was 23 years earlier in our former home in Oakland. Both projects turned outdated kitchens into the best feature of the home. Tom works tirelessly to complete a job and pays great attention to detail to ensure that the results are fantastic. While he was skeptical on some of my design ideas, he figured out how to make things work and we were all pleased with the final implementations. His recommendations on suppliers and sub-contractors were great and helped us keep costs under control for top quality results. I will use Thomas Cunniff Construction for an upcoming bathroom remodel without reservation, knowing we will get high quality work for a fair price.

Tom and his team did an outstanding job on our small bathroom remodel. We now have a beautifully tiles floor and shower with all new controls. Tom cares about the details and makes sure to protect the rest of the house as his craftsmen team does the work. We loved working with him and his team and are extremely happy with the new bathroom.

Tom continues to exceed my expectations. He is trustworthy, skilled, reliable. We first worked together 15 years ago when he transformed the slope under my San Francisco cottage into an award winning finished downstairs. Later we worked on the kitchen, bathroom remodels as well as many smaller projects. I moved to my current Berkeley flat and few years ago and knew exactly who to call for all the necessary upgrades.

I interviewed six contractors for our complete kitchen remodel of a 1898 home we purchased in Berkeley. I selected Tom Cunniff Construction and was never disappointed. He offered sensible and creative suggestions. He's an expert craftsman which are difficult to find nowadays. I actually thought they were extinct. If you're looking for remodel work, put him on your list for a quote and interview. He doesn't advertise and usually his work comes from recommendations - which is the best form of advertising.
