We selected Thorson Restoration & Construction to build our custom home in Plymouth, MA after considering five other firms in the area. Our architect spoke highly of and recommended Thorson. Throughout the year-long construction process, Eric provided invaluable guidance and suggestions on building materials, trim selection and the optimum materials for minimal maintenance and long-term quality. The oversight by Thorson’s team during the entire build process combined with the skill and experience of their employees and sub-contractors resulted in first-class results. Overseeing the building process long-distance via the Buildertrend app was convenient and the photographs have provided great reference for future projects. The office staff was professional - yet personable in all dealings and masters at managing the scheduling of building materials and trades people. Our decision to select Blue Harbor for our kitchen and pantry cabinets was effortless as the cabinets were of high quality and Jill was always helpful and responsive. Eric Thorson and team built our dream home. When we purchased our Hingham home, we fell in love with the location of our house, but we knew the footprint of our home – a 1960s split level – needed a major overhaul. Eric and his team immediately stood out in interview process. Eric spent a lot of time in our first meeting reviewing our existing footprint to troubleshoot any unknown, potential issues in advance of breaking ground. Thorson gave us the most thorough project proposal we had ever seen. Because our proposal was so thorough, there were no surprises from a budget perspective. We doubled the size of our footprint from 1,650 SQFT to 2,950 SQFT. Our project included the addition with a two-car garage, master suite with master bath, new kitchen, powder room, dining room, living room area and new deck. Every member of Thorson's team is a true professional and takes pride in their work. The communication, transparency and client service we received from Thorson was extraordinary.

The Thorson team did an A+ renovation/remodel on our home 4 years ago, so we did not hesitate to contact them when a recent leak (NOT related in any way to their previous work) impacted multiple areas in our home, including our master bath and bedroom. This was challenging because we were in a hurry to make repairs, and needed nearly every trade involved. We needed honest and reliable advice in a pinch, and knew that Eric would know exactly what to do, and that he would make sure every step would be done properly. He kindly accommodated us despite a busy workload, and moved the project along as quickly as he could. His team is excellent, and they handled every aspect of our project with care and attention to detail. This was another A+ experience with Thorson. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them!

We were very pleased working with Eric Thorson and his entire professional group. His team of carpenters and painters were experts in their fields caring to keep our home in tact and protected while they worked. We are quite satisfied with the outcome of this project. We contracted with Thorson for a whole house project that included resupporting and residing a historic 1816 2-story Greek Revival main house, gutting and rearranging the interior of an 1876 old addition, adding a new 2-story extension to the house for family room and master bedroom suite, and building covered porches/patios to knit the exterior together. Our vision was to preserve the character of the old house throughout the changes, maintaining the extensive wood detailing and built-ins and exterior Greek corners and gables, while bringing the house systems, bathrooms, and finishes up to the latest efficiency standards and technology. Thorson embraced this goal completely and executed a high quality restoration/renovation with exact matches of all of the new woodwork to the old and custom building cabinetry and porch columns to suit. Materials recommended and subcontractors selected all maintained the qualify standard set by Thorson. It was a pleasure working with Eric and his talented crews. We are enjoying the final product immensely and expect it to last for the next century.

We contracted with Thorson to replace 21 casement windows and all doors. The quality of workmanship and on-time performance exceeded our expectations. Every person we interfaced with was pleasant and knowledgeable.

We enthusiastically recommend the Thorson Restoration team to anyone contemplating home construction, reconstruction or renovation. We contracted them to modernize and renovate a circa 1900 lakeside farmhouse campus – house, barn, carriage house and more – all in need of a lot of TLC. We began with the main house, cutting off some old, uninspiring rooms and adding back a new wing, with garage and several bedrooms & bathrooms, all while executing a full renovation of all the core living areas of the house. Finished in 2018, the results are spectacular, even though the challenges were not always straightforward. As walls were opened up, we encountered curious building practices from decades of previous alterations. Nevertheless, Eric and his crews took everything in stride, proceeding with care and confidence from one challenge to the next. Every single person who set foot on our property, whether from Eric’s own team or from contractor’s teams, was professional, competent, courteous, and extremely respectful of the property and us, its owners. Overseeing it all, Eric brought craftsmanship and attention to detail that always met or exceeded our expectations, as well as an uncanny ability to realize our visions while honoring the original charm and character of the house. All this was combined with transparency, adaptability and real-time responsiveness to our every inquiry. We are now looking forward to proceeding with Eric on the rest of the campus.
