“We first worked with Steve on a basement project in 2005. It turned out very well. We contacted him again in 2009 to rebuild a 1929 cottage which we received many compliments on how well we utilize the space and incorporated/recycled material. Recently (March, 2014) we contacted Steve to update our 12 year - old kitchen with limited budget. Steve catered to our needs by listening well. Steve is very knowledgable in every aspect of building and designing. Steve has a very good reputation among contractors he works with. It was easy to tell from their demeanor when we met to discuss the project on hand. We definitely highly recommend Steve's service to anyone who needs someone who is trustworthy and with your best interest in mind.”

“I have worked with Marianne Kohlmann on many projects as an interior designer where I was the architect. I highly recommend her work either as a consultant to an architect or directly with the homeowner. She is sympathetic to the architecture of the home to arrive at solutions that fit the place, whether that be modern, Prairie/Organic, or traditional styling. She is also very organized and efficient, working well not only with architects and homeowners but various builders and tradespeople that will be constructing or remodeling these homes. Successful communication between all parties is very important in these projects and Marianne excels at this.”

“We are in the final phases of building a new home with Hillcrest Builders. Our experience with this company has been amazing! Oyvind Solvang (Owner) is very involved with the home building process. He met with us many times going through our plans and options. He was accommodating, yet realistic with what we could afford. We felt comfortable and at ease with the open line of communication they provided. Everyone on their team has been helpful and kind. Jim Kelly our project manager keeps us informed of progress and what we can expect to see during construction. He is very attentive and always responds to calls or emails the same day. The entire team at Hillcrest has really impressed us and we highly recommend anyone who is interested in building a new home to consider them!! Kelly & Bob Schmidt”
