When I first called Marian, he was busy and was not able to come, so he named an approximate price and said call me if you decide. We got several bids, from highly reputable companies, but then I studied reviews on Marian’s work from Angie’s list more and I called Marian again. He came to see the scope of work. His contract was way higher than all of our other bids but it was all inclusive. However, we do not regret this decision. He itemized everything and he stuck to our contract. Now, six months later, we are still happy about everything in our new floors. Marian considered our house very special and was doing all of the work himself with one of his workers. They arrived every morning and worked for nine hours for three weeks. What was especially important to me, was that I did not have to babysit the crew and I could leave for work knowing that when I come back home, there will be a new “wow” moment waiting for me, bringing me closer to my beautiful finished floors. They had to dispose of all of the garbage from the old floor, carrying it pile by pile from the second floor, through our marble living room, into the black walnut hallway and then on the marble stairs outside. They left no scratch! We had our old floor made at different times, and of different levels, but we wanted to create a uniform look. We had a very uneven floor and when Marian’s worker tried to fix the problem, the floor went up quite a bit in one place. The next morning we pointed it out to Marian. He said that what matters is that we were happy; he immediately took an electric saw and lifted the floor up. He spent himself several more hours, but at the end the floor was done just right. At the same time, Marian pushed us away from the decisions that did not fit. He suggested the white oak instead of the red oak as we were discussing with all our previous contractors, which had red oak as their top choice - I am glad we chose the white oak because it’s grain is magnificent. I wanted to have glossy floors but Marian insisted that he would go not with shinier than semi-gloss for the ebony color that we selected– I am glad we did that because the semi-gloss ebony looks very elegant. If you want somebody to help you make the right decisions about materials and paint and treat your house like it was his own, hire Marian. Our house is a 1920th masterpiece and Marian has added significant value to it with his workmanship. They may not be the cheapest option out there, but the results aren't cheap either!

I would highly recommend Marion for your flooring job! He was all things you want in a contractor - prompt, honest, perfectionist, , extremely knowledgeable, reasonably priced. He manages your expectations with timeframes and how the final product will look. He had to replace water damaged hardwood flooring in our hallway but then had to match it to the rest of the house (20 year old flooring mind you). The sanding, buffing and finishing throughout the condo is flawless - I can't tell the new boards from the old ones. They all look brand new. I'm afraid to walk on them now!!! He also gave me a name of the best painter I have ever used!

Between the holidays we had our oak floors refinished. They were installed when the house was built in 1972 and needed work. We contracted with Midwest and couldn't have been happier how they turned out. Originally a dark finish, we went lighter at Marian's suggestion and were delighted to see how unique the wood grain came out. Marian and his team were very accommodating, especially since he came to provide us a quote on a Sunday morning when we were able to be home. Thanks to Midwest Hardwood Floors our floors have a nice new look and feel.

Marian from Midwest Hardwood Floors Inc. and his crew did an outstanding job with our hardwood floors. We contacted Marian about adding two levels (and 45 stairs) of hardwood and refinishing an existing level. I could not have been more pleased with his communication style, availability, transparency, and straight forward pricing. Once he came out to the place to do an exact estimate, his price never changed even as small issues arose. Marian actually took us to his supplier so that we had the chance to really understand the quality (certified materials) and look of each of our options. The crew finish the job in just 8 days, right on schedule. No question we will call these guys again if we need more floor work!

Midwest Hardwood Floor contacted me shortly after I submitted a request for bid. Marian came out that same day. We had two floors of oak color hardwood, some of which contained blurbs and brush marks from poorly done work by previous owner. Marian bid was competitive, he could start within our hoped for time frame and he agreed to additional scope which two other bidders could not perform. The dated oak color floors were transformed into a beautiful, dark ebony finish. We could not be happier.

Marian and his team were excellent. This was my first time ever needing work on my floors and he made it a breeze. I had water damage from another unit and got the whole condom re-sanded as well. The cost was right in line with another estimate we received. He gave me the best estimate and worked around my built in cabinetry. My floors looks amazing now. I was a difficult customer because I travel for work every week but Marian was supportive and trustworthy. I didn't have to worry about anything. He even texted me photos DAILY about progress since I was out of town. From now on I will be using Marian and his team for all hardwood flooring. Really excellent and made a stressful process very easy. The Dusteless System Machine they used are amazing, very little dust during the refinishing process. I was very pleased with the speed at which all the damages to the floors were repaired and he and his team completed the floor re-varnishing. When I arrived after the floor was possible to walk on I was very delighted at the condition and appearance of the floors. The floors were perfect for viewing by a new tenant who would be interested in moving in. October, 2016 I found that one of my tenants on the third floor had to be evicted for not payment rent for a couple of months. When I entered the apartment, I saw a lot of damages to each of the wooden three bedrooms, the living room, the dining room and the kitchen. As I have had service from Midwest Hardwood Floors for my other two floors in the past, I contacted Marian at MHF to look over the floors and let me know what has to be done. He saw that all of the six floors would need to be refinished. He gave me an estimate which was below his competitors. He had a close time when he could get it all done and I agreed for him to start the repair as soon as he could. Marian his honest and very knowledgeable. The job was started and was completed in 4-5 days.The floor looks beautiful.

I question Marian's judgment when he installed engineered hardwood floors on top of our low-pile commercial carpeting. I can characterize the floors as firm - they don't bounce however in certain areas they dip. Also, his flooring with the carpeting underneath produces a hollow, resonating shoe tapping sound with heavy foot traffic compared to the very same hardwood flooring we have adhered to the concrete subfloor. Subsequent to Marian, we had another room re-floored with the very same locking system engineered hardwood floors. Unlike Marian, this contractor ripped out the existing carpeting and sealed any cracks in the subfloor prior to the vapor barrier and hardwood floors. The result is a rock-solid floor with no dipping, and it's quieter even with heavy foot traffic. At the time, when I expressed my concern of hardwood on top of carpeting, Marian explained to me that the carpeting could not be removed as it was glued to the subfloor. He also reasoned that the carpeting was needed as "insulation." When I relayed this to our subsequent contractor, he laughed at the explanation. Lastly, Marian's team had to cut off the bottom of all office doors to fit with the new flooring. The cut on the doors was rough and very uneven. It looks like it was done with a handsaw (although they used a small table saw). I believe Marian warrants two stars for his responsiveness and timeliness in the completion of his work. When I confronted Marian following the new flooring installed without the carpeting, he reiterated his stance that the sub-layer of carpeting could not be removed and was needed for insulation. I don't feel I can trust this representation. In total, I paid almost $62,000 for over 5300 sq. ft. of engineered wood flooring and installation.

Marian was extremely professional, and knowledgable of his work. I needed to replace my wood flooring, and Marian was alway helpful, and responsive. All datelines were met as agreed, he and his crew were always punctual. The project was finished before anticipated, and the new floors are beautiful. I highly appreciate his responsiveness and specially his outstanding customer service. I will definitely use him again.

We just had the majority of our floors replaced. Most with hardwood and a small area with tile. Marian and his team were AWESOME!!! It was 7 days project and for the first 3 days we had to move out. We would check on the progress each evening and they were always right on target. They were also very good with keeping things as tidy as possible and were very careful with our large pieces of furniture that had to be moved around as they worked in each of the areas. Marian keep me inform by send me pictures with the progress of the work every day. From the start Marian was nothing but honest, helpful and always stuck to his word. We couldn't have asked for a nicer, more professional team. We got quotes from other flooring companies and Marian's quote was inline with the other quotes, however, it was his professional that made him stand out from all the others. Everything turned out beautiful! And their DETAILED CRAFTSMANSHIP coming up with beautiful ways to do transition between the new floors and areas that weren't change was wonderful. Their clean up job outstanding! The DUSTLESS SYSTEM MACHINES they use to refinish the floor make all the difference. I would be very happy and considerate to recommend him for other persons. I had problems with my third floor where an evicted tenant did extreme damage to almost all wooden floors, three bedrooms, front room, dining room and kitchen. As I had him do repairs on the first and second floors I was very comfortable with calling him to review my problems with the third floors. I have been very satisfied with him and his workers on the third floor repair and his pricing. He was able to perform the repairs within 4-5 days.

Marian (Midwest Hardwood Floors) was one of three companies I interviewed for new floors in my living/dining rooms, upstairs hallway and all staircases. We also needed the hardwood floors in the large kitchen, hallway and powder room sanded and refinished so that all of the floors would be "new" and the same color. We selected Marian not only for his very fair quote, but in speaking with him, he was "down to earth" and the most honest in what he would do, how long it would take. Everyone he employed was competent, friendly and trustworthy, The work was completed by the targeted date. Any concerns about the work was handled promptly and pleasantly. We needed additional work done ..... ceiling work and painting. The men Marian provided were excellent. There's no doubt that I'd recommend Midwest Hardwood Floors with confidence.

Midwest installed a new hardwood floor in a bedroom in our home. The process involved removing not just careering but old linoleum as well. They did a high quality job very efficiently. Their service was very good; Marian arrived for the estimate just when he said he would be there, and they showed up for the pre-work delivery of the wood and for the job itself right when they said they would. And, their bid was the lowest of the three we got.

Marian, the owner, come out for an estimate and after he explain all the details, he give me a competitive price and i hire him. Thursday morning he show at 8.00 with his helper and started the job. My floor now looks like new and the color what Marian did on the wood is very nice. Marian is very professional ,his helper clean all the dust from the walls, definitely i refer him to all my friends. If you want a professional guy for the job, Marian respective Midwest Hardwood Floors, is that guy.
