I had a fireplace insert put in my old wood fireplace and am very happy with how it has turned out. I was surprised at how it only took a few hours to complete the install. This is the 2nd project I had Merrill Sheet Metal do for us and will be having them do more in the future.

Merrill Sheet Metal did an outstanding job installing our new fireplace. My boyfriend Allan and I started renovations on our home in August. We had stopped at their showroom in Merrill early spring to look at some fireplace ideas and that’s when we first met Kurt. He was professional, answered all our questions (and Allan had a lot of them) and gave us some preliminary pricing for the fireplace. He offered to do an in-home visit to be sure what he suggested was going to fit into our home. We scheduled the visit for early summer, Kurt gave us pricing to install the unit, and also counseled us on city restrictions for fireplaces (regarding the access to gas lines) and on what type of venting to use to increase the value of the home. We decided that venting out the roof would be the best option for high efficiency and they were also able to include the installation of a bathroom fan on our main floor level. Kurt handled getting permits from the city for us to begin the project. Our renovations started with a new roof so we scheduled a time for them to come and cut the openings for the ventilation before we put the new shingles on. After our roof was completed, we scheduled a second visit for them to install the fireplace. Our quote was for the installation only since Allan wanted to build the frame and mantel himself to save money. Kurt made sure we knew exactly what types of materials needed to be used so our project would pass the inspection. The installation was completed in about a day- but framing the unit took us a bit longer. On the day it was installed, they showed Allan how to use the remote, tested the unit to make sure it worked and all seemed well. However, when we tried to turn it on about 2 months later, we couldn’t figure out how to work the remote control. We put new batteries in, still didn’t seem to work. We called Kurt and he came to our home in Wausau, looked at the remote and determined that it wasn’t the remote that wasn’t working....there was an issue with the electrical running to the fireplace unit. When Allan built the frame and added an outlet to the wall above the fireplace, he bumped some wiring loose and the fireplace was not getting enough power to work properly. We made a few small adjustments on our end (since it was our fault the wiring came loose), and everything has worked great since then. Outstanding service before the project began, during the project and even after they finished the installation. Great product and the fireplace heats very well. We LOVE the new fireplace and all the help we recieved from Kurt and Bill and the rest of the team. Would recommend them to anyone!

Wonderful business and highly recommended! After some other not-so-great experiences with other local businesses, we found Merrill Sheet Metal about 30 miles from our hometown. From the moment we walked into the showroom to the time our gas insert was installed it was a very professional & friendly experience. Bill was very helpful and walked us through the process and kept us informed along the way. When Jamie and Bobby came to install our new insert they were beyond professional and friendly. It was not like having strangers in my home but more like friends. Couldn't be happier with their professionalism. Will definitely work with this company again in the future.

Merrill Sheet Metal Works had all the options we were looking for with our new construction home. The fireplace display at their business was very helpful in making a decision with the type of fireplace we were looking to have in our home. From installation of the furnace, duct work, and fireplace we are happy with their installation.
