I've known Richard and Tom for 8 years and I have always admired the quality of their work and the cool concepts they come up with. The first time Rich walked through the house I was in full demo mode, and he told me "slow down, don't make your decisions in a vacuum". That advise would pay dividends down the road for me. Enter Amy Kruger! We had a wide open kitchen, dining room, family room almost too much space. Amy's vision blew my wife and I away. We came away with a kitchen that is the focal point of the home, a soreley needed mud room off of the garage, and a awesome fireplace that is a real conversation piece, additionally subtle hints here and there that gave us alot of great ideas we carried forward. When it came to picking out our cabinets they had an extensive selection. Richard and Amy pointed out the pros and the cons, gave us history on the manufacturers, and let us know just because the cabinet is expensive doesn't mean it's the best or the right one for you. Amy's advice was simple "give me your wish list, your dream kitchen and we'll work from there". Once the design was finished it took about a month for the cabinets to show up. Tommy K the master craftsman and capenter extrodinaire set the kitchen including the appliances in about 2 days, bear in mind we converted from Electric to Natural Gas and moved everything around. The template was made for the granite and the stone was install 2 weeks later. The tile backsplash went on, Tommy trimmed it out and we were done. There isn't anything that B&D doesn't think of, there is always 3 to 4 sets of eyes on every detail and nothing gets missed. I would highly recommend them for any project you have in mind! If I can figure out how to load up before and after pictures I'll share my project on here!”

“Jim and Dan Ludwig (Hometown Design-Build) transformed an under-utilized breakfast area and powder room into an efficient and very attractive Arts & Crafts kitchen, in keeping with my late-Victorian house. And they turned my old kitchen into a 2nd bath, complete with tub and shower. With close attention to detail throughout, the Ludwig’s created these spaces to reflect the rest of the house, down to the moldings used in all the doors, floors and windows. With the exception of efficient new plumbing and lighting, these rooms give one the illusion that they have always been here, an integral part of the original design.”

“I have worked with Marty through two large remodel/additions in older homes I have owned. The first was a bathroom and study addition in a 1920's house. When I sold the house nearly 15 years later, this was the single feature that everyone talked about who looked at the house. It looked brand-new because the quality of work was so high. The second project is a large remodel of my carriage house in an older brick home. The carriage house was in serious dis-repair and needed to be completely stripped down to the exterior walls and the garage floor re-poured. This required architectural and engineering design. Marty's contribution to the design process easily saved me $20K+ by considering how the spaces within the carriage house were going to be used. It was his creative thinking that brought about this re-design when neither the engineer or the architect considered these options. Plans were redrawn and the project moved along according to schedule but at considerable savings to me. Marty is very professional but personable, approachable and clearly enjoys his work. He keeps close track of sub-contractors and is readily available on the job-site. If not present, he is easily reachable and responds both thoughtfully and promptly. He has the obvious respect of his professional colleagues, enabling him to consistently complete projects within deadlines and often before-hand. His estimates are consistently on-point with no hidden or un-disclosed costs. He is a pleasure to work with and I would choose to work with him again on subsequent projects.”
