Abby Design and Construction

Okay, this is the 3rd time that we have had the opportunity to work with Dan Hemp and his crew at Abby Construction & Elle Design. The first time was for notable home remodeling; the second time was for complete remodeling of 3 full bathrooms – including making gorgeous cabinetry out of three wood species for each bathroom; and this third time we enlisted him to make a dining room table for our condo at the beach! We shopped everywhere in NC & SC for an oval table that fit our space. Finally, after not finding what we wanted, we sent Dan a photo of a table that we liked and asked if he could make it in walnut, in an oval shape, and to primarily seat 4 but sizable enough to seat 6 if needed. His prompt response was, “Yes, I can do that!” Dan found beautiful wood, did the calculations to seat 4 to 6 as well as ensure perfect oval dimensions. To make sure that we were all on the same page, Dan asked us to come to the shop and view the plans on the exact wood that would be our table. This was such a good idea, as this confirmed that we all were on the same page! While Dan ships furniture that he makes to all over the country, transport plans would have been easy. However, he detached the base from the top and securely loaded it in the back of my SUV for easy and safe transport from Banner Elk to Hilton Head, SC. We are thrilled with our dining room table, and we are yet once again thrilled with the work by Dan Hemp and his staff at Abby Construction & Elle Design.

Currently working with Dan and his team on a second project. Always reliable, responsive and tries to accommodate timeline and budget! Yeah! Very easy company and employees with whom you can rely will give you a fantastic finished product!

Dan at Abby Design and construction not only built our house but did a porch expansion in 2016. He and his crew were very reliable, timely and used the best of products available. Dan also is very creative and has great design ideas when you maybe haven't thought of "everything" as the project proceeds. We highly recommend him for remodeling, first build and for finishing in a reasonable amount of time.

Dan and his crews did a great job on a cabin that had been sorely neglected. Quality work and nice employees. His goal is to provide excellent quality at a reasonable cost. He is now doing another project for me. Would not hesitate to call him. Highly recommend.

Dan did an outstanding job of updating our mountain vacation home. All his subs were competent and polite and I am certain he saved us a lot of money too. I have plenty of construction experience myself but hiring him was so much better than sub contracting it myself! Dan also weighed in on choices as needed and it turned out beautiful! Thanks Dan!

We hired Dan Hemp and Abby Construction for a major renovation in Linville NC. The project was completed in June 2015 and exceeded all of our expectations. In addition to quality craftsmanship, Dan spent a great deal of time trying to understand what we wanted and was instrumental in a number of design changes from our original plans that turned out much better than we expected. He was a fantastic communicator, sending us frequent pictures by email and text to keep us updated on progress. We were worried that taking on a project of this size would be difficult from 200 miles away, but it was only possible because we had the right person and company on site. I would highly recommend Dan and Abby Construction for any size remodel or new construction.

Dan Hemp and his crew from Abby Design and Construction did an amazing job re-building our entire home in the mountains. I have worked with builders in the past but none that were as efficient and trustworthy and as professional through the entire process as Dan was. He delivered our home on time and within budget and we were thrilled with the entire process! The attention to detail given to every part of our new home from the ceilings to the floors to the windows to the kitchen and bathrooms, etc was remarkable. They transformed a very old house into a real mountain home! We couldn't have been happier with their service and the quality of their work. Dan will work with you to fit all the things that you dream about having in your new home to fit within your budget. This company is top notch and they will exceed your expectations. Dan is super creative and will come up with some very unique concepts for things that you will love having in your home. All I can say is trust his instincts and go with his suggestions because he puts great details and attention into everything he works on. I have and will continue to recommend Abby Design and Construction for anything from a dining room table to a home. Danny's vision and creativity are amazing. His wood and granite projects are very unique. His attention to detail and creativity with design, along with his love of nature and desire to be Eco friendly, make each project or home he builds a one of a kind.

Abby Design took care of a project for me at the last minute and the prices were very reasonable... especially since it was last minute.
