We worked with Alair to complete a renovation and addition on our existing home. The team was very knowledgeable and helpful right from our initial contact with them. This was our first time undertaking this size of project and the Alair staff were able to provide guidance on realistic budgets, timelines and potential issues we may encounter as the project went forward. Their open and upfront advice and clear expertise made them an easy choice to work with. The Alair web portal was a huge benefit allowing us to see budget and schedule information in real time throughout the project. It added a great level of transparency and accountability since everything was agreed upon, approved by us, and tracked in the system. If any issues arose (as they inevitably will in a project of this size) or we decided to make changes at the last minute, they were addressed and dealt with in a timely manner, and to our satisfaction. It's clear that client satisfaction is a top priority for Alair. We felt there was great value in having a PM between us and the contractors. You'd also expect contractors to be very motivated to do a good job for a big company like Alair to secure more business (vs a one-off home owner if you were managing it yourself). Overall, we would recommend Alair and would use them again on a future project.

This is the second time we have used Alair Homes Aurora Newmarket to complete a major renovation on our historical home and once again have only positive things to say about the experience and the end result. Our project included redesigning the west bedroom space into 2 bedrooms with a Jack and Jill bathroom , widening the landing and opening the staircase which included some structural work. Throughout planning and build we felt listened to and the team always helped us work through our options keeping our budget in mind. This included putting in extra time to restore and reuse original historical trim & doors to stay in sync with the rest of the house. The Alair team went out of their way to coordinate with other contractors we had on site and we really appreciated their flexibility given that sometimes it derailed their timelines. We stayed in the home through the renovations and the site was always clean at the end of each day. The remainder of the home was respected and the team was always friendly and polite.

From day 1 when we were interviewing builders Alair stood out. David got right to work before we signed anything and started investigating/surveying the land and began communication with the town. Jason took over the build on the construction side, and although thrown a lot of curve balls with Covid and us, the owners making some design changes along the way, he navigated the project smoothly minimalizing delays, this was especially important given we had a baby girl on the way. The project was complete on time, and we are extremely happy with the outcome. We have been in our house for about a year now and still have 100% support from Alair, even last week Jason stopped in making sure everything is how it should be.

We had some serious issues with our home that required immediate attention. Alair Homes Aurora Newmarket came to our rescue and did not disappoint. Meeting with David and Jason was the first step to handing over our project with confidence. I don’t think I would trust another builder as much as I did Alair. They are honest, transparent and more than understanding. What we thought were some renovations turned into a new custom home as they walked us through our house showing us what was happening and why it couldn’t be saved. We hired Alair to help us complete an extensive Kitchen, Main Floor and Principle Ensuite renovation. After meeting Jason and David for the first time and learning about their process I knew we had found the right builder/contractor. Having completed not only a full build but renovations in the past and having them not go well my wife and I were very apprehensive on who would help us with this one. Quickly though we could sense a high level of trust with Jason and David and once we learned about their process and how they are 100% transparent and their detailed scopes of work and software we knew this would be the right fit. Like all projects we did run into issues, but Jason our Project Manager was always there to first listen and then quickly act and find the solution. What a difference from our previous experiences!! Jason's communication and structured meetings ensured we were always in the know and we had so much less stress because of this. It really allows you to feel in control of your project without all of the stress of trying to run it yourself. We finished on budget and on time and are blown away with what a difference it was compared to our previous experiences. You can really tell Jason and team take such pride in what they do and care so deeply about their clients. From the first dialogue regarding our project, right through to the final stages of completion, the Alair team has been nothing short of excellent. Our initial conversations and consultation gave us a clear and transparent sense of what we could expect regarding timeframes, process, quality of construction and overall budget. The fact that all of Alair's trade quotes were completely transparent made us know exactly what we were paying for prior to committing to the project. The oversight and communication from management reinforced to us how much they cared about our home and our family as our project commenced. There are many contractors who will initially promise the world, but then take their eyes off the ball once the project starts as they juggle other job sites. At Alair, we not only had management oversight, but we had a Project Manager dedicated to our project who was truly exceptional. Ben's years of experience and genuine concern for all of the little details, as well as maintaining accountability to our timeframe and budget provided complete comfort to us. Our project was completed on time, on budget and the finished project exceeded our expectations.

We worked with Alair Aurora/Newmarket on a complete home renovation on an older home in 2021/2022. Two major things we were looking for in a renovation company were for us to be able to have control over everything we chose for the house and that they prioritized customer satisfaction. Alair checked both of these boxes and we couldn’t have been happier with the result! We completely remodelled two floors of the house, including a full kitchen reno (taking down a wall), two bathrooms as well as flooring and all the finishes. We installed a gas line for the stove and we’re able to vent the stove outside. The companies Alair worked with for finishes were just as great. We worked with a great flooring company (who were able to customize the stairs exactly as I liked) and a wonderful kitchen company who was able to put my dream kitchen into place. Having Alair with us to coordinate all of these different vendors on a timeline that worked for us was exactly what we needed. Jason and David were great to work with! We had two project managers throughout the process. Both were very thorough in their communication and updates of the project. I loved that I had a weekly update on the project. A couple of things have popped up since the project ended and Alair was prompt in having someone come to fix it. Overall an enjoyable experience!

I just had a principle bathroom upgrade completed by Alair homes. The staff were all friendly and professional, with great communication throughout. There was an issue with how the drainage was functioning and it was addressed and repaired quickly and with minimal hassle from the Alair team, which to me is more illuminating on how the company is run than if there had been no issues. Overall ,the project took longer than expected (mostly due to supply issues beyond their control) but I was happy with the results. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

My husband and I bought the lot to build our dream home several years back – everything was perfect: the location, the lot size, neighborhood etc. Well, everything seemed perfect till we started our endeavor to find the right builder for us. We just couldn’t take that decisive step– we knew that we had to put everything we saved (financially) to build our dream home and that was a scary thought. Andrew Rae, Alair’s PM, is just exceptional. PERIOD. I really say enough about him. He is just exceptional. I am so glad we went with our guts that day. Andrew is someone who genuinely cares about his client – you just have to meet him once to understand what I am saying. He knew our limitations/concerns and promptly addressed everything on time. He always kept us in the loop – never hiding anything – he was always brutally honest with us even when he had to deliver bad news. Building a house is not an easy project – it’s very scary actually – but Andrew made it so easy for us. I just can’t say enough about the team at Alair Home Newmarket. All I can say is that if my boys ever want to build their dream homes – I will tell them to close their eyes and go with Alair Home Newmarket. PERIOD.
