If you are looking to build a custom home please meet with the Artisan team last. We met with at least a dozen custom builders and none of their proposals compared with the thoroughness that the Artisan team provides. Then there's the craftsman... through every stage of the build each group of craftsman were top notch! They were all professional, knowledgeable and did a beautiful job. The build itself was relaxing, exciting and fun! We did not have any of the stress you hear about when people talk about building a home. The Artisan team went above and beyond to make our home absolutely perfect. We LOVE our new home and are so proud to say we built with Artisan!

We spent a year looking for someone to build our forever house. After meeting with 5 different builders we picked Mike. And I am so glad we did. We've been in the house for a year now and couldn't be happier. Mike walked us through the process with confidence and incredible creativity. When he says he is a custom builder he really means it. We went through so many different house designs and types, changing our minds so many times. Mike never rushed us or acted like we were wasting his time. He patiently helped us work through the design until we were completely happy. Then finally ground was finally broken. We were kept up to date through the entire process. Mike provided constant updates and schedules. He meet with weekly to review progress. He made suggestions that really added to the appearance and value of the house. Any problem was corrected and every concern was addressed. When we moved in the house it was wonderful and we couldn't have been happier. During the first year Mike met with us at the house whenever we had a concerned. He addressed and made sure they were taken care of to our satisfaction. At the one year point the final punch list items were fixed without any problems or issues. We would recommend Mike to anyone who is building their home. He is truly a custom builder, he wants to build the best possible home for his customers. His goal is to make the building experience as painless as possible for his customers. Everyone I've spoken with has told me building a house was one of the most stressful and difficult things they've done, but with Mike we had a wonderful experience. If I was going to do this again Artisan would be doing it I would choose Mike again.

Mike Hudak was presented with a very unique and challenging situation back in December. We had contacted him part way through construction with another builder, to take over and complete our "dream home". This turned out to be the best decision we made!! Mike Hudak quickly and effectively tackled this immense job, picked up where things were left, and expertly handled all challenges that were presented along the way. Mike has a superb team of sub contractors that do excellent work, are very considerate of a home owners' wishes, and complete their jobs in a timely, professional manner. Mike's secretary Laura, is also a pleasure to talk to and work with. When issues arose, she was on the phone, making sure things were handled properly. Attention to detail is one of Mike's very strong points. Follow through, a great sense of humor and complete honesty are also positive attributes that made our experience an enjoyable one. When Mike says he will get something done, it is done....and to a very high standard! Since settling into our new home, there have been some things that I've had questions about, or small things that needed minor attention. Mike has been right there, ready to get those things handled as quickly as possible. No "issue" is too small in Mike's eyes. Artisan Building and Design, Michael Hudak, built our custom home from plans that we provided them. We couldn't be happier with our experience. The quality and communication were awesome. Choosing a builder for your custom "Dream Home" can be a daunting task for anyone, especially today. With the amount of materials, products and services available to the homeowner, the options are endless from a design perspective. After an extensive interview process among many custom builders in Northeastern Ohio, our family chose Mike Hudak & Artisan Building and Design. These days, many builders can provide quality for a great value (that's a given and is equal among builders), but what set Mike way apart from the competition was his processes and procedures - this was the deciding factor for my wife and I. Upon the initial quoting and negotiation phase, to the final design process Mike and staff create an environment of clear communication, thus bridging the gap between sub-contractors/staff and homeowner. This in the end lessened the likelyhood of errors, mistakes and ultimately additional dollars accrued to our project. Mike's "Proposal/Build Guidebook" is an amazing tool for the homeowner to have in their toolbox. It includes the calendar of events to take place, contractors names and contact information, necessary tasks for the homeowner to complete prior to deadlines, as well as checkpoints for materials purchasing. His forward thinking mentality not only lessened the likelyhood of errors and delays, it also decreased our family's stress-level and thus increased our level of fun in being engaged with the project. Every builder in the Northeastern Ohio area has their own "Competitive Advantage", however all things equal among high-quality home builders is a process that differentiates Artisan from the competition. It's also important to note that Mike may not have been the lowest cost custom builder for our project if that is a consideration for others - he did come in commesurate for our budget and for a top-tier custom builder. For us, the process, procedure, quality of contractors utilized and clearcut communication were priorities that outweighed the other factors that are maybe too focused on more by families building for the first time. Also important to us is the relationship that we built with Mike. Any new ideas or additonal thoughts that we have as improvements are met with the same process and procedure no matter the task. We know without a doubt that there wont be any consideration of builders into the future. Mike/Artisan gets our business and recommendation to anybody looking for a custom home builder.

Artisan Building built our fourth home. Having built three homes previously, we were not inexperienced. This project was by far the most enjoyable build of all our homes. The attention that Mike paid to what was going on was 100%. The communication pathways were outstanding. The quality of the materials was excellent. The contractors that were used were very good. We often talk about doing it all over again. If we do, Artisan Building and Design will be our only stop.
