Demolished old structures built a new home. Everything “seemed” good but that all changed once I signed the contract. Follow the advice of the resources available. Hire someone who is looking out fort your best interest. I now understand the value of hiring an architect or hiring an engineer I chose. Someone to oversee the construction would have been money well spent especially if you don’t have a reputable and knowledgeable lender involved.

VERY long story but years go by w/o keeping promises and poor quality workers that do show up on weekends...major many errors, never followed through on promises and made great publicity at my expense (whole article on helping me 'with volunteers" to help the..." that NEVER HAPPENED. Promises to try and help me after another contractor made so many errors, took my money and left the job requiring legal assist to try and get it back. He promised to help, got my hopes up...promised to send workers I'd pay by the hour to HELP ME RECOVER from the rip off. I am 100% combat disabled. He had that huge article and it was ALL LIES as nothing ever happened...and I waited for years. A worker on a Saturday doing poor work is NOT 'an army of volunteers'...And then charged $1700.00 for materials not even for this job that sat for years now, un-used, wasted money...16' wood that I Paid $200.00 to have moved behind the house (huge hassle requiring using neighbors yards as my backyard is steeply terraced) and off the front lawn when they never came back to pick it up (as promised and then was charged for it)...and when I emailed him a list several YEARS later 2020 to 'clear my mind' of this humbug so I can MOVE ON...I never heard back. Something has happened to this company--bit off more than they can chew? His Dad had a GREAT company; the son took it over and what happened? I have had to rehire others to repair and replace EVERYTHING they did--from cracking a window, hanging a barn door incorrectly (crooked), electric not done correctly (they still do not light when you flick the switch and I have not had the $$ to hire someone else to repair it) ; plumbing issues (hot water on demand heater with no wash out valve installed, leaky toilets...it has not been fun. Until they clean up and start looking at what is wrong--as there are many one star reviews now, this will never be resolved. They ARE a family business and seemed to me to be genuine nice people but WHAT happened here? To me, they owe me the $1700 back and repair the errors I still have not repaired. I have said my peace and will end this now but I in all honesty cannot recommend this company anymore. IT TOOK ME YEARS TO EVEN WRITE THIS I AM SO DISAPPOINTED AND SAD.

Relatively small (230 SF), 2-1/2 bathroom renovation expected duration 3-4 months stretched to 449 days. They were not the “low bidder” costing $630/SF. Poor communications and unclear scope of work. Schedules were not timely or relevant to actual progress of work (after awhile no updates were made). As schedule slipped, no mitigative action or explanations. Lack of on-site supervision exacerbated coordination, quality control issues, and material delivery. Poor progress of work, inefficiently scheduled. Productivity obviously an issue. COVID was a brief issue but only accounted for 2 week delay. Quality of work was acceptable after corrective action but suffered because of lack of oversight and coordination. There were 16 specific material supply problems, mostly incorrect type, not counting supply delays. Final “punch list” of corrective or incomplete work took over 3 months. They are not a high-touch or high-end type contractor, pretty pedestrian design assistance if you’re looking for product selections or quality.

Outstanding company…customer focused! Although my project was relatively small (new walkways and patio; repaired spalling foundation), Atlas Construction centered their energy on my project. Saul, a superb planner with great interpersonal skills, was my project manager. He met with me multiple times before I signed on the dotted line providing keen insight about concrete, suggested ways to improve my project (without added expense), and ensured my concerns were fully addressed. Foremost was Saul’s pro-active demeanor. He introduced me to the Atlas team on the first day and was frequently at my house throughout the project (including day of concrete pour), and remained in contact daily via cell phone. In other words, Team Atlas just didn’t take my money and run, they were on-site or on the phone with me to ensure my satisfaction and that the project was completed as desired. Even after the project’s completion, Saul came to my rescue orchestrating Team Atlas in the resolution of issues/problems caused by other contractors. One word summarizes Saul attributes…OUTSTANDING! Ramon was the concrete foreman during my project. WOW! Meticulous, organized and tireless, Ramon is without doubt the hardest worker I know and I have extremely high standards. Ramon treated my project as his own identifying potential problems and offering solid solutions that included a drainage system. He made sure the walkways and patio were slightly sloped to allow water drainage away from my house (his typical exacting nature). On the day my concrete was poured, Ramon mandated that his team measure up to his high standards making sure all finish work was accomplished to his satisfaction. My concrete project was completed on-time and on-budget. I dare any company to produce a concrete foreman that exceeds Ramon’s talents! Joel was Atlas’ electrician. Although tasked to install a few electrical outlets, he was Saul’s go-to guy to fix an electrical issue after another company gave up. When the other company said my underground electrical conduit was blocked and they could not pull the electrical wires through Joel said “CAN DO” and completed the work to code and within two hours. This was essential as I paid for the underground conduit in order to hide my air conditioners wiring and improve the aesthetics' of my house. Without question, Joel is the epitome of a master electrician. Francis, Atlas’ carpenter, also came to the rescue to repair the other company’s mistakes; specifically, a piece of house trim removed to facilitate installation of my air conditioning system. When the other company essentially said they would have to research and order the materials Francis stepped in and fabricated and installed the piece of trim. What would have taken weeks was completed in three hours...and you cannot even tell there was a repair to the area! As a master carpenter, Francis is a true craftsman. Anyone looking to accomplish home improvements need only to seek out the amazing folks at Atlas Construction. The next time I renovate Atlas Construction will be my contractor of choice for ALL work; not just concrete. I was thoroughly impressed; you will be too…satisfaction guaranteed!!!

Atlas construction is the company to call to build your dream home or do an addition. They are a great company you work with and very professional. We will definitely use them again. Thank you atlas.

Atlas is currently remodeling our home. Kitchen, 2 baths, garage conversion, windows, wet bar and more. I adore them, we have come to enjoy having Scotty, Bruce and Danny here. Aside from the work they are doing which is superior, and how organized and professional they always are, it's the little side things that make them shine. Our AC leaks water on the lanai. Danny overheard me talking about how it was not safe. He put a hose and made it drain into the garden. Never even told me, I just noticed it. They care about safety and comfort of our pets, always ensuring they are secure and happy. They help my older parents carry in groceries and other things they see them struggle with. And finally was an incident where my dog was surprised by Danny being in the yArd. He didn't recognize him right away and nipped at him, biting him in the stomach. He never said anything, i found out from one of the workers sons. I asked Danny he said it was nothing no worries but I mad him show me. It was a noticeable night, it broke skin. My dog is huge so it was a big bite. We felt horrible and offered to get him treated, etc bit he refused, even defending my dog for guarding the house.

Atlas Construction assisted my family in designing, financing and constructing our home renovation three years ago. From the very start, we felt very comfortable and trusted the President, sales representative and all company employees who were involved in our project. Their desire to sincerely help families with home renovations was definitely obvious during the entire process. Our questions were always answered immediately and handled with much professionalism. We are extremely pleased with the outcome of the construction process as well as with the renovated home!

The best way to describe Atlas Construction....EXCELLENT!! Atlas Construction exceeded every expectation when they built my families "dream home" in Palolo Valley. I saw a picture of a beautiful "plantation style" home in an upscale magazine, I showed the picture to the people at Atlas, and they pretty much built the home. The BEST part is they were able to build my "dream home" within a budget I could afford. What's the use of having a beautiful home if the family is stressed out ALL the time with the monthly payments? We went to six different contractors before finally deciding on Atlas, and I am so glad we did. Atlas made the entire design and build process easy and "stress free". They made sure my family was informed and up to date every step of the way from the finance application to turning the key and walking into our brand new home. We were in constant communication with them throughout the entire process which made us feel valued and important. The owner made us feel like he was building the home for his own family. That's how much care and love went into building our home. I know people should be wary of reviews placed on the internet, but rest assured that me and my family are happy and satisfied customers. We can not express how grateful and appreciative we are to our Atlas 'ohana for their love and aloha. We are truly blessed and will always consider them family.....mahalo!

I feel I have been suckered in the past going with the cheaper guy and always having huge increases midway through the job. One time we paid 20% more than what was quoted. Atlas worked with us, and there were issues that came up as well. But they worked with me to stay within our budget and no surprises. I felt like tipping them and buying stuff for their office staff and a significant amount of money, because they did a GREAT job and didn't rip me off, and my wife told me not to. I didn't do it, not because my wife, but because I realized they just do good business and care about their clients. When I called their office to thank them and such. The representative just said "we're just happy you are happy" and if I was that happy we could write a review. So this is why I'm writing this because I want the team at Atlas to know I am grateful for the professionalism and dedication to making my wife and I so happy. THANK YOU ATLAS.

Atlas did such a great job in building our home. The workers were easy to work with and paid attention To details. We received so many compliments how nice our New house. Our family couldn't be any happier! Thanks to Atlas construction! You guys really are the BEST!!!

After meeting with several contractors we luckily decided to go with Atlas. From the first meeting Josh made us feel very comfortable with Atlas. Everyone we met at the company (and I think we eventually met everyone) treated us like family. We couldn't be happier with our decision. We now have a beautiful home that people compliment us on all the time.

My wife and I purchased a 40 year old house that needed renovations. We had never gone through a contractor before but after meeting a few, we chose Atlas Construction because of their full service offerings, open communication, and a great eye for design. They walked us through the design and build process from start to finish so that we knew what to expect. There was constant communication between us and the Atlas team, and there were absolutely no surprises that we had to deal with. Bruce helped shape our vision from a design perspective, and introduced us to new concepts we would have never considered. We saw his vision when we did all the walk throughs during construction, and we were blown away when they were done. Thank you so much for making our dreams come true Atlas!!!

I know how stressful it is finding and contractor, so I wanted to share my experience with others so that they can make a more informed decision. When we decided to tear down and rebuild our home in Kaimuki, we met with five contractors. All of them had great ideas but each were different in their approach – some more pushy, a few seemed too busy or apathetic, and only one was real down to earth and made us feel like they had our best interest at heart – Atlas. For example, the Project Manager (Nathan) was very concerned about keeping us within our budget so that our mortgage payments would be manageable as opposed to building a house that would maximize the contract price (it seemed that way with some of the other contractors). What also really impressed us were all the complimentary comments that were made by their clients during our site visit to other projects that were in progress or competed. Their vendors and subs thought very highly of them too! They accommodated every request we had, allowed us to build the home we wanted (not according to their specifications), and were transparent about the process, costs (no mysterious change orders or nickel and diming), and timeline. They treated our Project as if it were their own and provided us recommendations during the design AND BUILD process. To those looking for someone to build their dream home, my recommendation would be the same: Find someone you feel comfortable with because there are so many decisions to be made from beginning to end and you want a partner that you can trust that will help guide you and also be fair with you when the inevitable obstacles occur (which it will). We love the home they built for us two years ago and are glad we picked a contractor that was a pleasure to work with. Atlas built our home and a lasting relationship with my family as well. To this day, if I ever need any assistance or advice for my home (solar, new fence, leaking washer), I can pick-up the phone and call Bruce (the owner) and he sends someone right away to kokua.
