It is not only an honor, but a pleasure to review and recommend Bercher Construction. Our project was the renovation of a cabin we purchased in Nisswa and included the addition of one bathroom, the renovation of two bathrooms, the reconfiguring of a storage area, and the addition of an office with a very unique Murphy bed.. My husband is very picky, yet found the craftsmanship to be expert. We worked very closely with both Brent and Jenny who are very much in tuned to customer service and communication.. they are not only a creative team with a meticulous eye for detail but also a very fun couple. Both took the time to carefully listen to any and all of our input. Our superintendent Scott, left weekly notes of his progress along with pictures of the work completed. We would not hesitate to hire Bercher Constrction annd Design once again in the future should we have any additional projects.

My wife and I engaged Bercher Design and Construction in 2004 to build our lake home in northern Minnesota. The process was very professional and was helpful in articulating our design vision.They built it on time, to the exact specifications called for in the contract, and were honest with no surprises. We were busy and lived 100 miles away. Texts, emails, progress reports ,and relevant photos made the process easy. The end product was high quality and beautiful. We recently reengaged Brent and Jenny for some updating and deferred maintenance. All of the above remain true. There is a downside as they are expensive. We had Bercher do a complete remodel of the first floor of our Lake House. It was a large project; a complete kitchen remodel, two full bathroom remodels, the addition of a theater room, new flooring, bedroom redesigns, adding a utility room on the first floor, new flooring pretty much throughout the first floor and new heating and air conditioning systems. Bercher was able to deliver the massive remodel in the agreed upon timeframe even with us adding to the scope along the way. Communication from Bercher was great as we received weekly status updates along with numerous mid week updates. We were never in the dark about what was going on at the house. They also did a very good job of understanding what style and look we wanted and giving appropriate recommendations on finishes and design. Bercher also did a good job of navigating the surprises along the way that come up with such a large remodel. For us it was water intrusion that had been going on for years prior to the remodel. We were able to keep the additional costs low and solve the problem quickly and efficiently. We are definitely pleased with the work Bercher did and would recommend them to anyone. We are actually having them work on the lower level remodel this fall.

Bercher recently completed a full remodel and addition on our home on Gull Lake. The project included the addition of a 4-season porch, 2 bathrooms, a bedroom, a new master suite and entry. In addition, we fully remodeled the kitchen, basement and upstairs bath. We moved the well and completely updated the mechanicals. Brent, Jenny and Scott were fantastic to work with throughout the process, from concept and design through completion. They took the time to listen to how we wanted to use the space and came with great design ideas. They also incorporated ideas we had and in most cases, improved upon them. This was a remote project for us, and we were impressed with how well they communicated with us. The organization of the project, including weekly updates with % completion, pictures and updates reassured us and kept us engaged without physically being there. This helped us have complete trust in the work Brent, Jenny and Scott, and all the subcontractors provided. When one subcontractor abruptly left the construction business, Brent was able to secure a new contractor almost immediately and keep the project on schedule. When we had challenges with supply of materials, Brent was able to fix the issues and communicated what was happening at every step of the process. When we had questions, Brent, Jenny and Scott were very quick to respond to our emails, calls or texts, keeping us abreast of everything that was happening, big or small. Their attention to detail was exceptional and the quality of the work has truly given us our dream home. We are beyond please with how our home turned out, and Bercher Design & Construction will be our absolute first call if we ever decide to do any additional work.

Bercher (Brent and Jennie) completed an extensive renovation of our lake home. The entire renovation was remarkably well managed. I can’t overstate our satisfaction with the end-to-end process, starting with their commitment to fully understand our needs, moving through their attention to details throughout the renovation, and ultimately to the final product — Simply exceptional! Our new home in Minnesota, designed by the previous owners for "aging in place", seemingly needed very little work until we discovered a water leak in the Master Bath in August of 2020. I quickly began a search in Central Minnesota for a CKD (Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer), acknowledging this project was beyond our skill set. What I found was an amazing partner in Bercher Design and Construction. I had already done my research online, executed numerous Google searches, read Lake Home magazine articles and advertisements, and scoured Houzz reviews when Brent and I connected for a phone call. Much to my surprise, Brent interviewed me, versus the other way around, to see if we were a good fit. I always line up three contractors for bids on every job, but I tossed that rule out the window after we clicked during the "interview." We also discussed pandemic protocols and how best to approach the project for the safety of all involved. It was clear we were on the same page, and Brent and Jenny toured our home a month after the initial phone call. My husband, Glen, and I ultimately created the design, subsequent plans, scaled drawings and 3-D renderings. Scott verified all of our measurements were within tolerance and the layout was to code. Brent pushed for more details with each drawing, requiring molding have the desired profile, or that the trim was to scale. Future visits with the cabinet maker led to further tweaks and some excellent exchanges of ideas. A personal family crisis in December 2020 then brought the project to a halt. We continued to work on the design as we could, and Brent encouraged us to take care of family first while reassuring us Bercher would be there for us when the project could start again. April 2021 we returned to Minnesota and began our selection process, compiled a list of the desired materials, and turned everything over to Bercher for ordering. Not one single item was missed. Bercher put our job back on the books, lined up all the contractors and work began in earnest July 2021 and was completed the first week of December 2021. Every contractor who came through was professional, helpful and expressed a genuine interest in our job. As we were the designers, we encouraged everyone to make suggestions or to red flag any issues. We had to remind them "the customer is NOT always right - so kindly speak up if you see a mistake." We are grateful they did. Most of all, we were impressed with the attention to detail Bercher provided. Fluid communication, Scott's detailed, weekly field reports, and exchanges of ideas -- all outstanding. Glen and I owned our own business for 21 years before retiring, and in Bercher we found a company with the same passion and enthusiasm (and warped sense of humor) that we had for our work. We are "over the moon" thrilled with the end result. Bercher truly brought our vision to life.

We reached out to Bercher Design & Construction in June of 2020 (yes during the pandemic) to help us with what we thought was finishing a project we had started on our boat house which lead to residing a detached garage, a full exterior remodel of our cabin adding an attached garage with bonus room and 2 decks! From our first discussion with Brent it was clear that Bercher Design & Construction takes pride in the work they do. We started with a extensive phone call that included more than just what we wanted to do but who we are and who they are. We discussed the project and concluded with some ideas on return calls/emails-which was nice to hear but was also, more importantly, followed thru on! They were willing to work with us to finish an already started project and helped us determine the best building materials for us in regards to price and our overall preference (we were looking for completely maintenance free). When they provided us the proposal we agreed to have them complete new siding for our boat house and detached garage, they installed new metal roofs for both buildings, new windows and doors for boat house. Early on in the process we told them of some future plans we had for the property and after they had impressed us with their attention to detail and follow thru with communications and fair pricing we brought up the idea of pursuing this extra work now. We were surprised at how extensive the process can be to add structures and remodel the exterior of our home but Bercher Design & Construction has extensive knowledge in all aspects of this work and ,in our opinion, works very well with the people needed to implement the plans. We cannot say that there weren't some setbacks and road blocks along the way for our project but they helped us navigate these by handling it all-very grateful! We received an upfront proposal for drawings, specs and all related items needed to begin the process (there were allowances for some items which is appreciated). They held true to all their pricing throughout the entire process and the only changes we had were the ones we added after the agreed upon work. We opted to only complete the exterior remodel of our home but we put in place all of the needed items to complete the interior remodel in the next few years. This showed us how willing they were to adapt to our needs. They took great care in making sure the inside of our home was organized and left as clean as possible. Everyone we met with from Bercher Design & Construction (Brent, Jenny, Scott) and all of the subs were extremely pleasant to work with. The overall project exceeded our expectations and we greatly appreciate their ability to bring our dreams for our place to life! Bercher was an incredible partner for our significant remodel, including total kitchen and lower level studio redesign, replacement of all mechanicals, revision of entry and hallways, and many other components. Brent, Jenny and Scott provided solid suggestions in the design stage and incorporated our desires at every point. The construction was completed on schedule and we were made aware of each stage of the progress. The work is impeccable and creative. We are more than delighted with the final product. We recently completed a kitchen remodel at our lake home. It was mostly a cabinetry rebuild, but we needed help with design and a project manager to handle the subcontractors and vendors. Bercher Design & Construction proved to be an excellent choice to hold my hand throughout the whole process as well a pleasure to work with. They were thorough, detailed and customer-oriented from the initial meeting through construction completion. Brent walked me through a very comprehensive design process to determine what we wanted in a new kitchen and made knowledgeable suggestions all along the way. Clear communication is one of their strengths, and information on budget, schedule and construction progress was professional and timely. Our remodel was completed on budget and on schedule and we are very pleased with the results.

We hired Bercher to do a home remodel including full kitchen demo and all new flooring. We bought this home in Minnesota and sold our home in Colorado. Due to no fault of Bercher, there were delays getting the project started, but even being out of state, there was excellent communication about what materials we wanted so that when the project started in earnest, it came together rather smoothly despite some additional hold up related to the pandemic. All of the trades did excellent work and also addressed any concerns we had. We did go a bit over budget, but only because of things we chose to add during the process rather than wait until later. We love our new home and look forward to enjoying all the area has to offer.

Bercher completed our beautiful lake home in 2007. They built our retirement home while we were still living in Texas, which shows the extreme professionalism and communication they are capable of. The whole project was completed on time and within budget using the highest quality materials on the market. Due to normal wear and tear caused up our Minnesota winters and feathered friends, some repairs were required. Bercher not only did an excellent job fixing the siding and screen porch, they installed a new beautiful, quality storm door. The team was very professional and completed the job well within the suggested timeframe and the best news of all was that it was done under budget.
