“Incredible knowledge, experience, very positive attitude and design, Great attention to detail! Extremely good communication skills, Great ability to meet deadlines and budget. We have known Tom Struhs and Elizabeth Falconer for almost 25 years! We hired Tom after meeting with 5 other builders and getting comparison bids. Tom was not the cheapest but he told me he would do a great job and give us great value for our money! Tom has done 3 major home renovation projects for us, each one substantial and over 1. 1993: $100K: building from scratch of disability access cabana and redo of master bedroom and updating 3 other bedrooms and utility room. 2. 2003: Complete redo of out kitchen: the heart of our home, all the work was staged and all appliances etc. on site BEFORE THE DEMOLITION. My spouse was very ill and undergoing a transplant. This total renovation was completed on budget in 18 working days in exactly 3 weeks total! All appliances replaced, repositioning of coffee bar. Redesign of flow and addition of 2 way fireplace so it could be enjoyed in the kitchen/family dining and outdoors on out patio loggia. Granite countertops redesigned, cabinets reworked ( now all pullouts), new cabinet space for small appliances including retractable stand for my always ready kitchen aid mixer and food processor, replaced kitchen sink etc. AMAZING!!! 3. 2016: Update and redo of master bath including heated flooring and large steam shower. Toto toilet, bidet. Redesign of flow in master bedroom and bathroom, tearing out walls etc. Rework electrical and addition of security safe, HUGE Container Store luxury closet. Also update and redo of my husband's library office during this latest renovation: cabinets etc. Only delays related to unexpected repositioning of plumbing, delivery of ordered safe and deliver of cabinet maker products. On site much of the time overseeing project. It is now complete and totally disability accessible but this is not glaringly obvious when looking at completed project. we could NOT be happier! “John Newton of Cornerstone Builders recently built us a home in Weatherford, TX. We could not be more pleased!! John is a man of high integrity. He is a family man, trustworthy, and very intent on making everything right! John is extremely reliable, which is important in the building process. He answers emails, texts and is regularly on site. Having a talented builder is a real plus. He leveled dirt on a tractor, dabbled in a couple plumbing projects, installed appliances and much more. He even cut a metal hanging candle holder that I wanted to hang in a niche; it was just a tad bit too large. He has been in the profession long enough to have selected some outstanding contractors. We feel that we had the "best of the best" plumbers, electricians, tile layers, carpenters, etc. I don't think we will be moving from this gorgeous home, but If we did need to downsize or move for any reason, John would be building us another home! “I had the opportunity to work with Mike on several philanthropic projects from 1991 to 1994. During that time he oversaw a yearly Haunted House. Part of that oversight was to have a free standing structure built to specs that would pass fire and safety inspections required by the city. This task may seem small by the standards of what he does today but it still speaks to his character and his ability. He was a able to motivate forty young men, free of charge, to build a two thousand square foot water-tight structure and design it so that it was the scariest haunted house in the D/FW area. The building had roof, floor, walls and electrical to code. In my twenty years of knowing Mike I have never witnessed an instance that he didn't keep his word. He will tell you honestly how he feels - even if the truth might hurt feelings. he doesn't know any other way. I'll let others review his paid-for work. I can't speak to the nuances of vaulted ceilings and wine cellars. What I can tell you is that if you are searching for a builder or a contractor based on his character then you would be well served to choose Mike Garabedian for your next job.”
