“Red House was our GC for an eight month gut renovation of an 1840's farmhouse. They were fantastic to work with from the first call to their office thru the finishing touches just after we moved in. They provided ideas and consulted throughout the design process, sharing options for needed products, vendor and retail suggestions. As some items inevitably changed during construction they were understanding and willing to adjust. They ran a very neat construction site and kept the project on time. Chris Quinn oversaw the project from a business/planning perspective, David Matesi was point person on site (and a talented blacksmith!) and worked with Dave, Nate & Arna - a great team all around.”

“We hired Blackrock Construction to build our new family home because of Mark our General Contractor. We looked at bids from a few different contractors, and contemplated on buying a cookie cutter house in a neighborhood. Luckily and VERY happy we made the right choice!! We picked Mark because he seemed very thorough, honest and professional, and have been extremely pleased with the results. Mark came up with lots of creative ways to make our home look exactly like we wanted it. He is very excellent at remembering and paying attention to minor details. In particular, we wanted a little rustic/west coast mountain feel. Mark surprised us with a personalized 100 year old door converted wash/vessel sink for our powder room. He also built us a beautiful wood bench, along with a very rustic fire place mantle which really brings out the decor. With any new construction, there are minor hiccups, however Mark made this a smooth experience for us. Mark's crew was highly professional, friendly and a pleasure to work with. He was very proactive in working us as the house designer, the engineer and the inspectors, and made sure that the work stayed on schedule, weather permitting in Vermont. We would hire Mark and BlackRock again without hesitation.”

“After we bought a house in Stowe Vermont in 2011 we hired Patterson and Smith to do extensive renovations for our home, knowing that they had originally built the home in 2000. We extended the house to provide for a new entry and mudroom, and expanded and completely remodeled the master bath. The work was all completed with excellent workmanship, in a timely fashion, and within our allotted budget. Shap Smith was a pleasure to work with, expecially considering our permenant home is St. Thomas, VI, so we could not be present during the construction period. We got updates and pictures regularly, and when we arrived back in Stowe for Christmas everything was complete, working, and clean!”

Our build started May 1st, with an anticipated completion date of August 7th. Currently, they are right on schedule, which we know by email updates and our online building calender. Bottom line, Denis' communication is superb! He has kept us in the loop from the very beginning to ensure a smooth, stress-free experience. Initially, Denis uses a 3-D CAD program to design your home with you to meet your needs and budget. You then have access to an online program for quality housing selections and to keep track of your budget, all of which continue to help to make building as stress free as possible! Overall, Denis is organized, thorough, and easy to work with. We can provide an update once our construction is completed, but so far we have been nothing but impressed with the whole process. It's rare that I hear people talk about building as being a pleasurable experience. Denis (and his crew)our out to change that perspective, and doing a fabulous job at it! Finally getting near the end of my North Carolina house build and I just wanted to thank Jim and his Vermont team for building a great product. The quality and fit of the Frame and SIP panels was key in the success of this project. Everyone at Vermont Frames was courteous and very helpful. Jim, Chris and everyone else there never got tired of answering all my questions. I researched a lot of Timber Framers closer to me and VF offered the most comprehensive solution with the least amount of unnecessary drama. I hired one of Jim’s Field Technicians (Jake) to lead my local framers and in four days the frame was up. Jake was one of the hardest workers I had on the job site. He took charge of the raising from the first minute he was there. The precut SIP’s took another week and were easily installed without the need for Jake. So thanks to Vermont Frames for helping my wife and I survive this ambitious dream that started on a mountain top several years ago.
