Fazzolari Custom Homes & Renovations
Energy-Efficient Home Builders in USA
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsApril 3, 2014
“In 2005, my Wife and I relocated back to the Vancouver area from florida. We were in the market for a one level house and very few were available or at least not the suited our needs. We were introduced to Fazzolari Custom Homes. John worked with us in locating a lot and then worked with my Wife and I in developing the floor plan that we wanted. John and his crew continued to work with us all through the building process on any changes. As an example, We were visiting the building site on this one day while the framing was in process. The crew just happened to be framing one of the bathrooms in one of the master bedrooms (there are two) and were laying out the shower area. My Wife and I left the site and went to a local restaurant for lunch and my Wife said she wasn't sure she liked the shower design and she did a few quick sketches on a napkin. We went back to the house and showed the changes to Johns Forman and even though the original design had been started he pulled up the framing ,laid out the new changes my Wife had sketched on the napkin. Now that won't happen with the average builder. We would recommend John Fazzolari for any project you may be planning. You won't be disappointed.”

“I used them for a very small job because of my budget and was treated just like I was spending a million dollars. Very professional, on time, and conscientious of the quality of work done. Electrical and hanging light fixtures, but they do it all.”
Carlisle Classic Homes

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsDecember 5, 2013
“I have referred Carlisle Classic Homes to many of my clients and will continue to do so, as they are a great company to work with. As an architect with H2D Architecture + Design, I enjoy working in a team format with my clients and the builder. I have worked with Alex, at Carlisle Classic Homes, on several remodel projects and he is excellent to work with. He is very detailed oriented, budget conscious, looks ahead in the project to foresee potential problems or complications, and has good communication skills. My clients have also been pleased with Carlisle Classic Homes' craftsmanship and responsiveness to their requests during construction.”

“Bercher Design and Construction recently completed a major renovation of our lake home. We could not be more pleased with the entire seven month process and our experience with the Bercher team. From the very beginning planning and design phase, to the selections, throughout the construction process we found everyone extremely customer focused and without doubt their goal was to have a satisfied customer. They clearly achieved their goal as the end result exceeded our expectations. Very importantly their motto of being considerate is an understatement. We enthusiastically and highly recommend Bercher Design and Construction to anyone considering a building project.”

Ritzman Construction LLC

“We hired this company in 1991 to custom build our 3200 square foot home. This is a family owned business and at that time was owned and operated by Mike Ritzman's mom and dad. They were terrific. They were on time, they were pleasant and they even returned some of our money. In the ensuing years I have had them remodel a rental property I have, plus a $30,000 repair when a large tree fell onto the roof. A couple of years ago I had them build a custom garage of about 1550 feet. This is the $50,000 - $100,000 listed in this review. Once again they did it on time and on budget. I wouldn't go anywhere else for work, whether new construction or a remodel.”

“We have worked with Colonial Homecrafters twice. Once to build our first home and just recently to put a very large addition on the home we live in now. Colonial Homecrafters is a builder focused on quality and excellent customer service. We have had pleasant and successful working experiences both times -- we would definitely recommend Colonial Homecrafters and Eddie Goode (and have!!).”

“During the 13 month construction our neighbors would comment, "Your contractors are doing a good job on your house and we're impressed that they are respectful of the neighbors. I like it that they don't play loud music and clean up every day." We were happy to hear that. We are even happier with the results. As the first house in Santa Cruz County to be built (technically remodeled) to the Passive House standards, we enjoy a very comfortable temperature throughout the house AND use much less energy than similar houses in the neighborhood. The biggest challenge was the air tightness requirement for Passive House certification. This was tested with a blower door to verify that the house achieve 0.6ACH50 (131 CFM in our case) which is VERY tight. Achieving this level of airtightness in the house that was originally built in 1922, where we kept the original foundation and framing, has not been done before. Santa Cruz Green Builders also installed the first Heat Recovery Ventilator in this area. The professional who came to commission the HRV commented that our installation was one of the better ones he's observed. So, the point of this paragraph is Santa Cruz Green Builders is not afraid to take on new challenges and achieve amazing results. When you hear the words "green building" it may bring the image of a certain contemporary aesthetic to mind. But our house has the curve appeal of a nice old house -- a 1922 bungalow that has the arts and crafts styling with details in the window trims and flared skirt look on the siding. On the interior we are very happy that Santa Cruz Green Builders talked us into keeping the original floors and refinishing them. The tight grains of old fir is appealing and the polished distressed wood brings out the period style. They carefully deconstructed the house so that original base boards, doors, etc. were re-used. We also selected finishes that reflects the old arts and crafts style. When people come to our house they can't tell what's original and what's new. We like that. True to their name, Santa Cruz Green Builders walk their talk. I can continue with other elements like structured plumbing, gray water, insulation, recycling, etc. If you're curious about that please visit my blog http://http://midorihaus.blogspot.com/”
