Carr Homes

Carr Homes, is a FANTASTIC builder. They are easy to work with, honest, and have solid, genuinely good people with tenure who work for them. ALL levels, are people of the most admirable character. We looked at approximately 10 other builders’ work in Northern VA, and not a single one gave us the “warm & fuzzy” that Carr did, and that was from step one -Walking in the door of one of their models and being greeted by a genuinely knowledgeable and straightforward sales consultant. We were never “sold” into anything - given facts, ideas, suggestions, common choices, options, and the ability to be flexible. ANYTHING we had questions on, we got answers. Our project manager was INCREDIBLE. When we requested changes, (which I would have gritted my teeth on the amount of customs we requested if I were them) they obliged and did any and everything within reason! EVEN accommodated us in our brick choice, and made a change order on a spec nearby to ensure we could have exactly what we wanted! Small things we were extra particular about - they worked on and fixed for us. For those sub-contracted to do work, such as tile work - the project manager never allowed anything mediocre. We we’re allowed to visit our home through all stages, and at delivery, I cried, no actually I sobbed- our home was beautiful, and we will make lasting memories in it as a family. Carr planned the community beautifully - small - quaint - tasteful. We couldn’t be happier.

Carr Homes construction on foundation and settling is poor. Homes on my entire street have sideways that have settled do to improper compacting and zero foots on retaining walls. I would not buy a Carr Home or an home that Carr had a hand on. They aren't a builder, they contract all the work out and hope they have someone reputable do the work.

Carr Homes built an exquisite home! The quality of the craftsmanship and attention to detail was clearly evident from the moment we first walked into this spec house when house shopping in western Loudoun. We've now lived in the home for over 4 years and we are extremely happy. Tom Avery sold us the home and was a pleasure to work with. He's also been very responsive to the questions we've had pertaining to various maintenance items. The original landscaping (evergreens) didn't fare too well in the beginning due to poor drainage on the property but Carr homes took care of the problem without question (had new trees replanted). If you are looking for a dream home with a focus on open floorplans, maximizing all usable space, intricate woodworking, and quality materials (both inside and out), Carr homes can definitely make that happen!

The process of building our home was very smooth thanks to their patience and guidance. Tom made it very easy and his professionalism and expertise were of great help, we are very happy with our home and would not trade this experience.

Overall, we had an excellent experience with Carr Homes. They were flexible and easy to work with, unlike most builders they were open to small changes in design and layout, and when a problem did occur they were upfront and provided options on the way forward. Excellent builder that is dedicated to quality and customer satisfaction.
