Cline Homes

We had the opportunity to work with Cline Homes on a recent custom residential project in Charleston, SC and found the entire team to be fully dedicated to the client and the execution the architectural design concepts. We especially appreciated their attention to detail, coordination of trades and ease of collaboration.

We have built several “custom” homes over the years, but have never experienced the excellent level of service provided by Cline Homes. It was absolutely a pleasure to build in Awendaw Village! How may people who’ve built homes can say that? To top it off, we did it from a distance! Building a home in SC while living in NJ was destined to be a challenge. Cline took steps to insure that we didn’t miss a beat and delivered a beautiful home of the highest quality. We wanted to commend your wonderful team of associates who made it happen. First of all, Amanda Newell is a gem. She deserves top honors for her patience and attention to detail, not to mention her design savvy. She carefully guided us through the selections we needed to make. We never felt rushed or pressured. She offered thoughtful opinions and wasn’t afraid to tell us if we was going down the wrong path. She had great ideas and made the entire process so easy. In the face of all the deadlines, she remained our calm leader, managing all of the many details! I don’t know how she does it! She responded to our emails as if we were her only client, yet she was juggling many others just like us, never confusing us with someone else. She always took time for us and made the whole process fun and enjoyable, despite the fact that we were sometimes making many choices in a matter of a 2 day visit to SC. What patience she has! She never once made us feel like we were imposing on her time, even when we couldn’t make up our minds . . . this tile or that one??? She simply guided us to a choice and we never had to second guess ourselves. And then there’s Chris Coy. I hope you know how great a job Chris does. Again, we’ve experienced field management before, but never on a caring, professional level as this. Chris simply wants to personally make sure that our home is completely finished to our liking and then some! He offers professional advice and always tries to solve problems creatively and professionally, making sure we are ok with his recommendations and solutions. There’s no stonewalling that “we can’t do it that way.” Instead his can-do attitude made us relax, knowing that he would take care of things according to our wishes. He offered great advice and many suggestions that we never would have considered. He is a real asset to Cline. Another shock to us was that he continues to follow up after closing! In our other experiences, we had to chase the builder around in order to get the punch list taken care of. In many cases, we just gave up and fixed things ourselves. Not with Chris! He proactively corrected our few outstanding issues and continues to follow up. He keeps his promises insuring that we are not just another number on the list of homes Cline has built. That is just stellar service! Meggan Crocker in the office was always there to lend support with any change orders paperwork, etc. She followed up on everything we asked! Congratulations to a wonderful team!

We had quite a poor experience with Cline from start to finish. Poor communication, project delays, project overages, and little to no warranty remediation were the norm. Even worse, we, the people who shelled out $1.2M, felt like we always had to walk on eggshells so we wouldn't get slammed down by them at every turn. Time after time, Cline refused to hold up their end of the bargain. Example: at our 6 month landscape walk-through they refused to replace the many plants that were deader than dead (they replaced a single $8 plant), claiming that they were "thriving". Within three months, we replaced $2700 of dead plants. Next month we will replace two large dead hollies and six other plants (which will represent almost the entire landscape plan). The final straw was our "one year" warranty/walk-through which finally took place last month - closer to two years in. Most of the work agreed upon was not completed (we gave up waiting and the back and forth/debating was not worth it for us). The warranty manager had no idea who had been at the house, what work was completed/not. Ultimately, two guys spent two hours in our home. That was the extent of our one (two) year warranty! We will fix the drywall ourselves (because the guy they sent says he doesn't know how to drywall). We will repaint the exterior louvers that were completely chipped/stripped three months after we moved in because Cline claims that it's normal that they look like that (so soon after moving in). In our opinion, building with Cline is no better than building with Wieland or Weekley. Just a higher price tag. We are happy that our > 2year ordeal with Cline homes is finally behind us. Writing this review is important to us as we wouldn't wish a similar experience on anyone.

The Cline team is amazing to work with. They helped us through every step of the build process, and every inch of the house was customized to our needs and lifestyle. They were easy going, highly communicative, easily accessible, and the quality of their craftsmanship is beyond our expectations. We love our new home thanks to Cline!

We purchased our Cline home last month and couldn’t have been happier with the professionalism of the entire team. Specifically our Project Manager Chris Coy has been working with us ever step of the process. He has made our buying of our Cline home seamless addressing our questions and ensuring that we are totally satisfied with our new home. Thank you Chris and Cline homes for everything.! I recommend this home builder 100%.

We bought a Cline home a month ago. They seem to be a quality builder. So far the communication/responsiveness, though, has been less than desired. We've also run in to more overages than we expected. We'll continue to update this review as the build progresses. We're optimistic that we'll hit our stride and a 5 star review will follow. 10 wk update: So surprised at lack of visibility into the build progress and lack of communication overall. Example: we were promised bi-weekly updates repeatedly. We should have received 5 by now and we've NEVER received a single one. When I most recently followed up, the owner replied, "if you need an update I'll be happy to get on the phone with you to discuss the status of your project". I'm sure the house will turn out just fine. But as $1.2M house buyers, we have felt quite small throughout this "process" and are always walking on eggshells (or being put in time out for causing project delays -not true - or overages). 30 days til close update: Communication never really improved (maybe slightly) but we are so happy that the finish line is near. The house will turn out OK but the process could have been better. Will update again after closing. Ric and Lisa Alvarez

Our experience with Cline Homes was great! They made the process so easy from start to finish. They have a designer to work with you to help make decisions that will result in a beautiful home! Our designer was Ali Frick and I highly recommend her. She was so easy to work with and made herself available to us for even the smallest detail. I can't say enough about her! Amazing attention to detail! Thank you for our beautiful home! I'm sure we'll have years of wonderful memories there!

Every member of the Cline Homes team is experienced and truly dedicated to providing nothing short of the best for their clients. We recently did a paver project for them this past June and we were very pleased by how easy and enjoyable it was to work with them! We hope to have the opportunity to work with Cline Homes again in the near future!

We recently moved into our gorgeous new home built by Cline Homes. The entire process was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. The entire Cline team was exceptional. Meggan, who works in the office, was always so pleasant and helpful. Ali, our designer, was simply great. Our house in Charleston was being built while we were living across the country in California. Ali kept me focused and on track as we went together through all of my choices including cabinets, counter tops, flooring, plumbing, hardware, lighting, paint and many others. I could not possibly have done it without her. Rob, our project manager was the best. He was professional, knowledgeable, patient and generous with his time. He worked hard to meet all of our needs. He went above and beyond to meet our time schedule. Thank you Cline Homes!

We had a great working relationship with Cline Homes during the process of building our home on Daniel Island. We had never built a house before and Cline Homes made it a smooth process. Our designer Ali helped us in our choices with her expertise. Our project manager Rob worked with us on all our questions and concerns. He was an integral part of the project and was very knowledgable in all aspects of building a home. I would recommend Cline Homes for a homebuilding project you may have.

Our experience with Cline homes was excellent! Every member of the Cline team was professional and easy to work with. Amanda, our designer, understood our vision and worked to make it a reality. If we were struggling with a decision, she offered suggestions that made the selection process go smoothly. We developed a great relationship with her, and we trusted her implicitly. Shane was the project manager on our home. He kept the site clean and on time. He was very approachable when we had questions or concerns. And, he addressed them immediately. He also offered helpful suggestions when we needed guidance. Meggan was very helpful. She responded to any request quickly. We have built 4 homes, and this experience was by far the easiest and most enjoyable! Thank you Cline for our dream home! It's perfect!

Cline Homes was the builder we used to construct our recently completed home in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. While this was not the first time we did new construction, it was by far, the very best experience (despite the fact that we were long distance). From the inception of the process, everyone involved with Cline was highly organized and responsive, attentive to details, incredibly helpful and timely. The designer worked patiently, creatively and masterfully with us to design a home that was both aesthetically beautiful and functional. The project manager oversaw every detail of the construction with precision and creative vision, completing the project within the timeline discussed at the outset. The quality of the craftsmanship is outstanding. All partner vendors were equally service oriented and helpful. I would highly recommend Cline Homes.
