Please do not use these builders. They are absolutely terrible to deal with. Ive had nothing but issues with them. The months in my house completely flooded from an upstairs vanity that had been leaking since I moved in but didn’t realize till the pipes let go and flooded the upstairs and downstairs. At my one year inspection they refused to fix many issues. One being a spongy subfloor. In one area the flooring broke and I was blamed for dropping something when in all actuality I stepped on it and it broke. Come to find out there was a huge hole in the subfloor. Their finishing work is terrible. When I pointed out the numerous paintings errors including paint all over the floor I was told if they could stand back 6 feet and not see it it was fine. The main floor bathroom they decided to put in the vanity lights before they installed the vanity itself so the lights ended up being very off centered. I was told it was my fault because I didn’t pick the vanities in time. I then showed proof that I emailed my vanity selection when only the foundation had been laid. They refused to address it. My garage the foundation in cracking in the front and they basically put a bandaid on it and I’m still having the same issues. I’ve had nothing but problems with my fans to which they replied we’ve been there twice to fix them what else do you want us to do? How about replacing them. I’ve had nothing but problems with my flooring separating. Still won’t fix them. Don’t use these people unless you don’t care about having numerous issues and never getting anything fixed properly.

The Colpitts team built our dream home last year. We could not be happier. The entire team is very customer focussed and extremely knowledgeable. They were able to convert our very conceptual idea of our dream home into a reality. Shawn Colpitts, the owner, closed the deal after a meeting with him to discuss any concerns we had. Bob Thibodeau was the mastermind behind the skillfully designed plans. He has the patience of Job and never appeared frustrated with the multiple revisions we requested. We lost count of how many versions there were before we said "That's Perfect". Craig McElroy, P.Eng was our touch stone throughout the process. We're not sure which was more valuable or appreciated: his professional expertise or his ALWAYS friendly, calm and positive demeanour. He was always available when needed and could "talk us off the ledge" when our unfounded anxieties got the better of us. There is simply not enough space to acknowledge every single person, but let it suffice to say that Colpitts has the most amazing team - from their own construction staff to the various sub-trades who worked on our house. We cannot say enough about their professionalism, positive attitude and patience. There were no surprises in terms of budget or timelines, except when mother nature had her way. I would do it with them again in a heartbeat, except that thanks to them, we have our "forever" dream house!
